Briseis of Pedasus is a princess with a dual fate. She is the daughter of an unknown goddess and a king obsessed with legacy. A legacy Briseis is unable to continue, much to her father's dismay. As the Trojan War begins, Briseis accepts a quest to kill a man in the name of a goddess who wants glory, and if Briseis succeeds, the curse upon her house will be reversed. This is a story of parents and children, love and hate, hope and dismay as characters question if it's impossible to change the fates which have been decreed for them.UPDATED TWICE MONTHLY This is the first draft of this story. I participated in the Wattpad Bootcamp Mentorship Program which pairs mentees with mentors to work on a story of the mentee's choosing. This is the story I worked on with my mentor and it contains none of the changes which will be in the final draft. I hope you enjoy reading this first version : ) and I hope readers will be interested to read the final draft once it's finished. A deeper dive into the classic love story of the Trojan War, based on the poem I wrote also called Achilles&Briseis. The poem can be found on my profile if you would like to read it. The poem contains some spoilers for story lines that will appear in the novel. I feel compelled to say this story will not be a traditional retelling of the Iliad. This story is going to be something new among the conflicts we all know well from many years of the Iliad being told. Halloween is Sandy Greer's favorite holiday. She loves the changing of the seasons, the costumes, and of course the candy. As she prepares to walk down the aisle to marry her true love, she finds the old mansion they rented for the ceremony and honeymoon may have more guests than anticipated. Only the additional guests may very well be dead, having risen from the graveyard near the property she didn't realize was real.Written for the Halloween Vault 2023 contest. My fellow musical fans will notice this short story makes mention of the play Grease, and many characters have the same names as those from the play. However this isn't a Grease fanfic. I've been watching the musical a lot lately and wanted to write something I thought was fun. This lead me to imagine a group of friends that happen to be named similarly to those in the play, and have a personal connection to it. It's a big coincidence and very unlikely to happen in the real world, but as I said I wanted to write something fun. The last story I wrote for the Halloween Vault was pretty bleak and ended sadly, and likely has something to do with me wanting a change of tone this time around. Uncle Iroh is one of the most complex characters in the Avatar: The Last Airbender universe. For as much as he was featured in the television show, there is so little we know about his life. Who was his wife, how did a man who met the last dragons and protected their secrets later go on to wage a war on Ba Sing Se, and what did Iroh do when he left the city after the death of his son? This is a one shot fanfiction I wrote to explore these questions. Uncle Iroh is one of my all-time favorite characters and I hope you enjoy the story I've written. This is a poem I wrote for the Rewind The Classics 2021 contest. The challenge was to chose a classic and retell it with a twist. I chose the Iliad, specifically the relationship between Achilles and Briseis within it. I wrote the poem in the format of a tanka. A tanka is a poem in which each line has a certain number of syllables, the sequence is 5, 7, 5, 7, 7. The poem had to be 300 words so the sequence repeats until the very last word of this poem.
