This is my submission for National Geographic's "Plastic Or Planet" contest.Writing started as a hobby and a way to give life to some amazing dreams I had. In reality, I am someone that is interested in a lot of different things including science and, more specifically, environmental sciences. That's what led me to pursue my studies in Ecology, now, I understand what problems our Planet, our World, faces and I know that the only way to save our future is by changing the path we are taking. To achieve this we have to change people's minds by teaching, explaining and showing them why it is crucial for our future and our descendants' future to conserve nature.I truly believe that Humans are not superior to other species and that it's the arrogance of thinking we are superior that will be our downfall. We do not own this world, we share it with other species. Our superior stage of evolution and knowledge doesn't give us more rights over this planet, it only gives us more responsibility to take care of it.…
