I drove Alice home after that eventful morning. She wanted to hang out later today so I told her to bring a swim suit. It was around noon when she told me to come pick her up. Of course we were on FaceTime while I was driving to her house.

"I can't choose which suit!"

"Alice no one else is going to be there just pick one,"

"But I wanna look decent if were gonna take pictures,"

"Alice you'll be fine,"

Just then her door bursted open.

"Alison you not leaving again are you?" Her dad asked

"I am why?"

"You're always our and I haven't even met this person you're always hanging out with,"

"Why does that matter?"

"Because how do I know that you're not sneaking around with some boy,"

She gave a panicked glance at the phone. Her dad must have noticed.

"Who are you on the phone with?" He asked easing his voice

"My friend,"

Her dad snatched the phone and looked at me. All he could see was the ceiling of my car and a little bit of my head from the side.

"Who is this?" He dad asked

"Sir I'm going to have to apologize but I cannot look at you because I am driving and I need to keep my eyes on the road but hi. My name is Tanner and I'm the friend that Alice has been hanging out with,"

"So you are sneaking out with a boy," he yelled at Alice

"Oh no sir it's not like that,"

"So you're her boyfriend?"

I paused. I mean we're not official.. but... how do I answer this?

"Well you see.. no. We are not dating but if you'd like I'm parked outside of your house if you'd like to meet me in person,"

"As a matter of fact I would," he threw the phone on her bed and walked off and downstairs

"Tanner it was nice knowing ya but you're going to die,"

"Alice relax I've got this,"

"I hope so," she muttered

"Alice.. I'll be fine,"

She warned to say something but she didn't. Alice hung up the call and I opened my car door and walked up to her front door. Was I nervous? A little.

I knocked and her dad opened the door and stepped aside letting me in.

"You can have a seat in the sofa," he dad said

"Okay,"

"So..." her dad started, "what did you say your name was?"

"Tanner. Tanner Fox. And you are?"

" Mr. Watson. But you can call me Evan."

"So how did you meet Alice?"

"Well I was dragged to a party by a friend as I was sitting outside away from everything and she approached me. We talked then we left the party and went skating with my scooters." I explained "and after that we bonded and we've hug out. Honestly I think she's bonded wit my dog more than me,"

He laughed

"She does love dogs,"

I agreed

"So what's the relationship between you two?"

"We aren't dating. But we're not in the friend zone so I'm not sure what to call us,"

"So you like her?"

I nodded

"And she likes you?"

I nodded again

"Well.." He started to say but then we heard a loud thud followed by almost ten others,

At the end of the stairs Alice laid.

I was up as quick as I could and she sat up. Her nose was bloody.. really bloody yet she wasn't crying.

"Oh my god are you okay?!" I asked picking her up off the floor

"Tanner I'm pretty sure I can walk it's not like I broke my ankle," she laughed

"We don't know that for sure!" I set her on the kitchen island and grabbed the closet wash cloth and soaked it with cold water.

I put it to her face and wiped away the blood. I made her hold it there.

"How'd you fall down the stairs?"

"I missed the first step and I fell face first and couldn't stop myself,"

"Alice,"

Soon I got the bleeding to stop and she didn't swell up. There wasn't even a bruise. I shooed Alice upstairs to finish getting ready

"You really do care for her huh?" I turned around and I forgot that Mr. Watson was here

"Yeah... I do,"

"Well.. you're a great kid and I like you so I won't stop you. Just be respectful. Be good to her alright?"

"Yes sir," I replied with and understanding nod

"Now go on get outta here," he laughed and so did I l

Before I stepped j to the stair well I stopped

"Oh and mr. Watson?"

"Yes?"

"Thank you," I smiled
