Chapter 6: In Secret
It was two months later, and Tyler and Josh were closer than either of them had ever been to anyone.
Every night, they'd sit out at the fire while everyone else partied, snuggling by the fire and talking. They'd smile and laugh, and it was a really good time.
But, tonight, Josh decided it was time he make his move.
And it was risky.
He and Tyler had never talked about their sexual orientations, but he really, really liked Tyler. He, himself, was bi, but he didn't know what Tyler was.
He made his best effort to put his hand as close to Tyler's as possible, hoping maybe he could possible lightly grab it.
Tyler was resting his head on josh's shoulder, snuggled against his side. Josh gently worked his hand downwards until it was by Tyler's. He gently moved his pinky so it was lightly touching Tyler's.
Tyler smiled shyly and blushed deeply, starting to giggle shyly, making josh grin as well.
Tyler allowed Josh to intertwine their fingers under the blanket, both boys blushing like crazy, their hearts beating a thousand miles an hour.
They looked at each other, both giggling shyly as they made eye contact, tyler covering his blushing face with his hand.
"Nooo, don't cover your cute face!" Josh exclaimed with a giggle, gently pulling his hand off his face.
Tyler blushed deeper and smiled shyly, his face burying against josh's arm, making Josh grin. He continued holding Tyler's hand, squeezing it lightly.
Eventually, it was around midnight, and both boys decided it was time they go to bed.
Josh went inside first to make sure Bishop and Murphy weren't inside before he returned and took Tyler's hand, leading him to his room, both boys giggling and blushing and smiling.
They arrived to Tyler's room and Josh squeezed his hand before letting go.
"Goodnight, Tyler," he smiled.
"Goodnight, Joshua," Tyler smiled shyly back, stepping inside his room and closing the door.
Nobody could find out about the little thing they had going on.
Nobody.
So, during training, they were just friends. They took on much more masculine, dominant personas, they sat with each other at lunch, trying to suppress their giggles as they would catch the other staring at them. And, every night, while everyone else was partying, they snuggled under the blankets in a position nobody could tell their legs were intertwined and they were holding hands.
And, every night, before Josh would walk hand-in-hand with Tyler to his room, he would step inside to check and see if Bishop and Murphy were still gone. Only then would they walk inside holding hands.
Joshua was now Joshie, and Tyler was now Ty.
"G'night, Joshie," tyler whispered in josh's ear with a shy giggle.
"G'night, Ty," Josh giggled, hugging tyler tightly before squeezing his hand and heading to his own room.
The boys were both incredibly happy.
Josh believed he truly loved Tyler, and he thought Tyler might love him back.
So, he made a plan.
