Chapter 12
Serenity Lies In The Obedience Of Your Creator❤.
"Behold with the rememberance of Allah do hearts find peace"
❤My Serene Heart❤
My once fragile and lost heart , is now enveloped in serenity,
The feeling of peace entered the crevices of my heart , filling my heart with ecstasy.
I was once drowned in the deception of the world , in love with its glitter and glammer,
Oblivious and unaware that the very things I loved, my heart will shatter.
With the rememberance of my Rabb does my heart now find peace ,
The obedience and love of my beloved Allah within my heart will never cease.
The splendor of the world is nothing but , a beautiful lie , a facade ,
Impermissible actions are made to look enticing , drawing one closer to that which Allah our Rabb forbade.
Behold with the remembrance of Allah do hearts find contentment, peace and tranquillity ,
No matter how sweet ,and enticing impermissible deeds are made to seem , it is all a show , a vanity.
My once fragile and lost heart is now enveloped in serenity,
The feeling of peace penetrated the crevices of my heart , filling my heart with ecstasy.
(Jawhariy)
She strolled down the street that was adorned with purple flowers , he grasped her hand, as they walked beneath the shade of the breathtakingly beautiful Jecaranda trees , the sun peeked through the branches , casting a warm glow onto them , causing her chocolate brown eyes to sparkle in its spectecular glow.
Hamza walked beside her hyming the praises of Allah , and she silently chorused with him. Walking together after Asr Salaah had become their habit, together with some excercise they would make their eveving thikr as well. What more could she ask for ? She had a beautiful relationship and all Praise was due only to Allah ! Surely they didn't have a perfect relationship , no one had , they argued and bickered over the silliest of things , they fought over insignificant things but, they had a strong bond of love and undertstanding , and this was only and soley because their priority was to please Allah.
They were bound in matrimony through the Mercy and Kindness of Allah , Allah had given them another chance , and they had eagerly grabbed this second chance with open arms, making an effort to reform their once deviated life, making an intention to utilise their lives for the obedience of their Most Merciful Lord Who granted them another chance to prove themselves and transform into better people.
"Shabana " , Hamza tugged her hand to get her attention, as her gaze was fixed above them , admiring the lilac Jecaranda flowers that adorned the once bare trees.
"Hmm", she responded, her gaze still fixed onto the beautiful trees that towered them.
" I'm going to be leaving in a months time" .
She snapped out of her day dream , and turned to him , giving him a questioning glance. He smiled at her.
"Well you finally realised you have a husband, you were so lost in your day dream that you didn't even realise your husband is so desperately trying to get your attention." He sighed dramatically, placing his hand on his chest, he feigned hurt.
She giggled at his dramatics.
She held onto his arm , shaking her head at him , he was such a baby , sometimes he demanded even more attention than Raees.
"Well...", she drawled.
" I was admiring the creation of Allah Ta'allah , so no need to feel like I'm not paying any attention to you".
He smiled at her." I was only kidding".
"Anyway where do you plan on going in a month's time ?" , she frowned under her niqaab.
" I gave my name to go out in the path of Allah for four months",he chuckled seeing her expression, her brown eyes widened, she stared at him in surprise. After a few seconds she crashed into his chest , hugging him and squealing at the same time.
"Alhamdulillah !" She muttered still hugging him.
He blinked, for a few seconds then wrapped his arms around her, he kissed her head, and laughed.
"Okayyy I was absolutely not expecting that kind of reaction from you!". He thought she would freak out, and maybe even protest , or try to convince him not to go, as they were only married for two years , he wasn't expecting her to agree whole heartedly.
She pulled back after hearing him , she rose her eyebrows, realising her brows were covered with her niqaab , she put her hand on her hip instead.
"What kind of reaction were you expecting from me , exactly ".
He chuckled. "Well I thought I would see the water works, and you would sob holding me,and scolding me not to go because we just got married two years ago but, it looks like you are more than happy to get rid of your husband", he joked.
She playfully narrowed her eyes at him, folding her hands on her chest she relplied cheekily.
"Yes I'm more than happy that you are going, Tayyiba's husband is also going in jamaat, we will have some 'girl time'."
Now it was his turn to narrow his eyes at her, he smirked at her.
"Oh no problem dear you are more than happy to get rid of me, when I go in jamaat I will find a second wife who will pity me, because my first wife was so happy to get rid of me".
He walked away casually, leaving Shabana behind him , who was glaring daggers at the back of his head.
"Oh no you did not just say you want a second wife!" , she stormed towards him , standing in front of him , fury burning in her eyes.
Hamza laughed, embracing her.
" The second wife topic is dangerous topic for any man to discuss with his wife".
"Shhh just shush ! I don't want to hear"
He chuckled once again."okay I'm sorry but, now tell me why are you so happy to let me go".
"Obviously I am sad , four months is a long time to be away from you but, I can't stop you from going out in the path of Allah. Allah is so Merciful Allah gave us a chance to reform , guided us to the straight path , and brought us together, into this beautiful marriage. I can't thank Allah enough for all His bounties, but I can send you in the path of Allah with a happy heart and hope for a reward, I can't be selfish and tell you to stay."
He smiled at her , thanking Allah for his beloved wife. " Allah will reward you for your sacrifice in Sha Allah."
"Aameen . Our sacrifice is like a mere particle of sand compared to the sacrifice of the Sahaba رضى الله عنهم" she replied , adoration evident in her eyes.
"Indeed !" , Hamza nodded in agreement.
"You know ... I read in this book called gift to a bride
خير متاع الدنيا المرأة الصالحة
The most valuable asset in this world is a pious wife. "
She looked up at him, meeting his gaze.
" I always make dua to Allah to make me a pious wife."
He beamed at her.
" in sha Allah !"
"Perhaps Allah Ta'allah accepted this dua already for I always make this dua
ربنا هب لنا من ازواجنا و ذريتنا قرة أعين واجعلنا للمتقين إماما
Rabbanaa Hab Lanaa Min Azwaajina Wa Thuriyaatina Qurata A'yuni Waj'alna Lil Mutaqeena Imaama
Oh our Rabb accord to us the coolness of our eyes from our spouses and children and make us leaders of the pious"
She asked him to
repeat it a few times until she memorized the dua.
"A woman can be the coolness of a man's eyes only when she is good and pious. A man is therefore extremely fortunate if he finds a wife that is well groomed, compassionate and intelligent" Hamza quoted from the book she was reading.
Her eyes widened . " Are you reading that book ?"
He chuckled. "I just skimmed through it but I happen to remember that dua and those words."
"Hmm I think you should consider becoming a Haafidh since your memory is so good"
"Insha Allah "
He held her hand ,and they walked back to their flat hand in hand.
Hamza opened the door , and chuckled silently, standing by the door he watched Raees. Shabana gave him a questioning look , he tugged her by her hand , she trudged forward, and closed the door behind her.
The sight infront of her made her laugh silently but, also filed her heart with extreme joy. Raees stood on his little Musallah alongside the couch, clad in his small white kurt(thawb), a toppee on his head, all his cars lined behind him, he 'lead his cars in Salaah'. The domestic worker sat on the couch opposite to him , a look of confusion etched on her face, as she tried to figure out why he put his cars behind him when praying.
She noticed his parents were back , she stood up and walked to towards Shabana. "Madame why is he praying with his cars behind him , is this his way of thanking God for his toys".
Shabana smiled and shook her head.
"No Maria Muslim men pray in congregation , the person who leads the prayer is called an Imaam and he stands in the front , while the rest of the people stand behind him and follow him. So Raees is imitating the Imaam and because he has no one to follow him , he lined his cars behind him. "
Maria nodded in understanding, she smiled , admiring the little boy.
"He is such a lovely child. May God make him Imaam one day !"
Shabana smiled.
"Insha Allah , If Allah wills he will become an Imaam one day. "
"Madame could you teach me more about your beautiful religon ? "
This caught Shabana by surprise, she hugged Maria overjoyed at her interest in Islaam. Some would feel it below their dignity to do so , some would be racist as their domestics workers were African , and they were Indian , they would be racist and not allow their workers to eat with them, or even use the same dishes that they use. She never understood them , they ate at various restaurants , unaware which race ate from the very same utensils they ate from, yet at home they felt it below their dignity to let their Maids join them and eat in the same dishes as them. She hated that kind of attitude and behavior , that was not what our beloved Rasulullah صلى الله عليه وسلم taught us. Our character should be such that it attracts others to Islaam without us verbally inviting them towards Islaam. No race is superior to another , unless they surpass one another in piety.
