5. Arrival
-Chapter 5 :
The waves crashed onto the sand of a moonlit silent beach, the sand smooth except for the trails of two pairs of feet that were imprinted in it. The silence was disturbed by the laughs of two people, one deeper than the other. The laughs were melodious yet the higher one sounded a bit forced.
"Show me your face! I want to know who you are!" Sohee shouted.
The man did not turn around, but just shrugged as he kept walking farther. Sohee had to run to catch up to him. She held his shoulder and turned him around forcefully, and Sohee screamed. The sight that beheld her was something from a nightmare that she could not even conjure. Blood pooling from his completely black eyes and mouth, his skin tinted green, he was a walking corpse.
"AAHH!"
Sohee wakes up with tears in her eyes and adrenaline pumping through her body, as she remembers that she immediately slept at her small apartment after her shift. Sohee took deep breaths and drank from the water bottle on her nightstand. After she calmed down enough, she lied back down and snuggled into her covers. She kept replaying the dream over and over again in her mind, and cried at the sight of the very familiar man.
Why do I have to live like this...
Time Skip to 7:30 AM
Sohee stood in front of the unfamiliar building, nervousness coursing through her. She had been standing in front of the doors for 10 minutes, with many curious passerby giving her a second glance. She ignored them as she debated again whether she should go in or get the hell out of here.
"You can do this. You can do this." Sohee repeats, and takes the steps into the Big Hit Entertainment building.
She softly walks down the brightly lit hallways until she reaches the choreographer's office. Sohee takes a deep breath and knocks on the door. The door opens and the choreographer stands in front of her with a smile.
"Hello! You must be the new junior choreographer! Choi Sohee, right?" He asks, smiling.
Sohee nods, some of her nervousness disappearing at the happiness of the choreographer.
"Well then Ms. Choi, follow me to BTS's practice room."
Never mind, I'm nervous again. You can do this. Just get close to BTS and finish your job, then you don't have to see them again...
The choreographer steps out and walks to an elevator and hits the down button.
You give a questioning look to him, and he says,
"People working underneath BTS's practice room would have complained about the noise and the thumping, so Bang PD-nim moved the practice rooms to the basement."
"Oh." Sohee replied quietly. The choreographer laughed and said that many new workers ask that question.
The elevator dinged, signaling that it arrived. The metal doors smoothly opened and the duo went inside. He hit another button with the label "Practice Rooms" next to it, and the doors closed. Soft elevator music played in the background while Sohee's thoughts whirled around her mind, making her feel a little dizzy with nervousness.
The elevator halted and the doors smoothly opened to reveal a hallway with practice rooms on either side. The choreographer went out and Sohee quickly followed him, her heartbeat getting faster and louder with every step. He stops at the end of the hallway and stands next to the door that says "BTS- 방탄소년단."
"Well here we are. Ready to meet your new family?" The choreographer asked with a soft smile.
Sohee nodded her head to indicate that she was ready to go in.
Family was something I never had in a long time... Let's do this.
He opened the door to reveal seven boys who turned around at the sound of the door opening. They looked sweaty and tired, but had curious and surprised reactions at seeing a girl in their practice room.
"Yah! Pay attention boys," the choreographer says. "Meet your new junior choreographer, Choi Sohee."
J-Hope POV
They were practicing their Blood Sweat & Tears choreography for three hours. Everyone looked drained as they sat down to drink water.
"Hey..." Suga wheezed as he opened his water bottle. "Remind me why I'm in BTS again."
"Cause you're an amazing person, and BTS wouldn't be BTS without you." Jin said, whacking Suga's head with his hand. The boys were all silent for a minute until the door creaks open. They turned around at the sound, and saw a girl about Hoseok's age at the entrance.
She was dressed in a simple grey t-shirt with black sweatpants and sneakers. She had her long hair down, which was streaked with a couple of gold highlights against a chocolate brown. Her eyes were towards the ground, sneaking a glance or two at us then they were back down.
She looks familiar...
The choreographer comes in from behind her and stands next to her.
"Yah! Pay attention boys."
They all snap out of our thoughts and look at him. The girl doesn't lift her head.
"Meet your new junior choreographer, Choi Sohee."
It was silent for a moment until shouts and whooping were heard from BTS. They all rushed forward except for Hoseok, who was still looking at her trying to figure out where he had seen her, and Suga, cause he was drinking his water.
"Hi Sohee! Can I call you Noona?"
"Wah! You are really pretty! An ulzzang!"
(A/N: "Ulzzang" means a very beautiful person.)
"What do you like to dance to? Modern? Hip-Hop?"
"Who's your favorite music artist?"
Sohee began to turn red at the constant questions and attention, and J-Hope noticed. He came over and shooed them away. He turned around to introduce himself.
"Hi, my name is Jung-"
Wait, wasn't she the girl who I tried to talk to a couple of weeks ago?
He saw that Sohee was looking at him to finish his sentence, and saw that her eyes were like Tinuta's. But it couldn't be. She was long gone out of his life.
Hoseok snapped out of his thoughts again to find Sohee's hand held out in front of him.
"My name is Choi Sohee. I'm glad to be here and I'll work with y'all the best I can. Okay?" She shouted, earning cheers and "Yes!" from the group.
Hoseok shook her hand and felt the same warmth come from her hand like Tinuta's hands. She smiled softly, and he realized that their smiles were different. Tinuta's smile was a wide smile, with teeth showing, whereas Sohee's was small and closed.
"Let's start practicing again, shall we?" the choreographer said excitedly. The other members groaned and complained but Sohee interjected.
"Hey. You get to do what you love to do everyday! Should you be complaining?"
The members thought about it, then pumped their fists in the air.
"We can do it!"
Sohee smiled and sat down at the edge of the room. The choreographer moth opened to the guys to start practicing, and BTS performed their nearly completed Blood Sweat & Tears choreography. Sohee watched intently, clearly more comfortable than she was when she entered the room. At the end, the boys sat down and Sohee clapped.
"Wow! That was amazing!"
Hoseok and a couple of the other members blushed a little at the praise, while the others were smiling largely. Then Jungkook had an idea.
"Noona! Dance with us!"
Sohee's smile instantly dropped and Jimin noticed so he hit the maknae.
"Yah!" Jimin yelled. "If you don't want to though, it's okay!" He added to Sohee with a smile.
Sohee was silent until she spoke up.
"I'll dance with you guys..."
Hoseok was shocked. He didn't expect her to accept Jungkook's offer, and he definitely didn't expect what came out of her mouth next.
"I'll do your choreography right now. I'll switch with one of you, and do that person's part."
The group looked shocked and the choreographer was stunned. Then Namjoon spoke up.
"If she wants to, I say let's let her switch with one of us! Let's have her switch with... J-Hope?"
Hoseok snapped his head up at his name and glared at Namjoon, who gave him an evil smirk. Sohee nodded, indicating that she was fine with it. Everyone took their places, as Hoseok walked over to the edge and sat down on the floor.
Sohee's starting position is correct. Let's see how she does.
내 피 땀 눈물... (Nae pi ddam noon-mul...)
The song continued as Hoseok analyzed Sohee's movements. She performed everything perfectly, with no hesitation, as if she trained for this dance with them. He admiringly watched her, and a vision of Tinuta started to blend with Sohee. Hoseok rapidly blinked, but the image remained.
They look so similar...
What's going on...

A/N: It's KJ. Again. You will be seeing me quite often. Anyway, here's Chapter 5 and I purposely made it long. But how were the Death Notices? Don't worry, we're still living (eh...). Strangely, I was the only one who died on October 13th... Thanks a lot Red Velvet! 😭
Please don't die like we did, (we are Asian Trash) and 사랑해요! ❤️
