"Jwackie there are o-other people wike you!" The girl happily chirped once she practically dragged Jack into the amusement park with uncontrollable excitement.
"What do you mean, baby?" Jack asked lazily, too busy trying to mess up his hair in a way that didn't make his face too noticeable, pulling his hood down as well.
The girl visibly flushed at the pet-name. "O-other people look l-like you!"
Jack still didn't understand, raising a questioning eyebrow until he felt someone's shoulder push against his slightly, making him snap. "Hey. Watch where you're going, will you?"
Out of anger he lifted his face up and he could hear the person who shoved him let out a rather loud gasp, and before Jack even had the thought of him screwing up and immediately grabbing the girl and yeeting out of there, the person said, "oh my! I'm so sorry about that, but nice face paint!" before lightly patting Jack on the shoulder and leaving.
Jack stood there in shock for a few seconds before the girl gently tugged on Jack's hoodie getting him to snap back to his attention. "See?" The girl asked, a slight pout in her voice.
"Baby." Jack said after a moment of silence, "What do the other people look like that look like me?"
"Uhh," the girl trailed her sentence off, glancing at everybody else who was walking around the front of the amusement park, couples holding hands, some wearing masks, some with face paint, some holding cotton candy and wearing pink and blue cotton mustaches, laughter filled in the air, that made the girl forget about everything in that split moment—
—until Jack snapped his fingers in front of the girl's face, making her flinch at the sudden intrusion of noise in her ears. "O-oh." She realised, cheeks reddening like a cherry. "They have stuff on their face l-like you Jwackie!"
Jack hummed, thoughtful. Perhaps there was some sort of festival that allowed people to wear whatever they wanted, no matter it be decorating their faces or wearing funky costumes, similar to Halloween, he assumed. Whatever the case, at least he knew he was safe, for now.
Sighing in relief, Jack reached down to entertwine his large fingers with the girl's smaller and chubbier ones, stepping forward into the amusement park. "What do you wanna do first?"
The girl's eyes sparkled. "I-I can choose?" She asked, voice hesitant which make Jack chuckle at her cuteness before nodding in approval, ears twitching slightly at the sudden change of atmosphere, from the quiet and peaceful mansion in the woods to the loud and cheery amusement park.
The girl practically bounced on the top of her heels in excitement, eyes wide as she scanned the millions of rides and fun attractions before her eyes settled on the one straight ahead of them. A little merry-go-round with decorative horses that she could've sworn winked at her or perahps it was just the bright sun making their eyes polish and shine, but either way, this was the ride.
The girl ( i just realised i've repeated 'the girl' a lot of times in every sentence in each paragraph im- 🗿) pulled at Jack's hand, literally dragging him towards the little merry-go-ride, Jack letting the girl do whatever she wanted, though a little small smirk was tugging at his lips as he watched the girl struggle with her tiny frame to drag him over even though he was barely using any of his strength to fight back.
Finally, Jack gave in and trudgingly walked towards the merry-go-round with the little girl, with the little girl gently tugging his hand onto one of the horses, gently wrapping her tiny hand around his and guiding his hand to place it ontop of the horse's mane. "'s yours." she said, giggling happily as she skipped a bit further away from Jack and, (with difficulty) finally sat on top of the horse.
Meanwhile, Jack easily lifted himself up onto the back of the horse, wrapping his arms around the golden pole in front of him to stay put, yelling at the girl to do the same, and just in time, the music started and the horses started slowly moving.
Flinching, Jack instinctively tightened his grip onto the golden pole, though he overheard the girl's excited squeal as the horses started to swirl and spin faster.
'i regret going here', Jack thought to himself quietly, feeling the urge to throw up. He had never been a fan of amusement parks, even if it meant going to LJ's dark amusement park. Anything that spinned too fast automatically was a no-no for him. But he'd let this go for just one (1) time. For the girl.
The merry-go-round slowly skidded to a halt, the girl swinging her short legs back and forth, visibly upset that the ride had ended so soon, but thank god for Jack. He got up and wobbled off the horse, the girl following him as she tilted her head up at Jack curiously.
"Jwackie are you okay?" She asked, tugging on Jack's hoodie.
Though Jack did have a light gray skin tone, the girl felt like Jack was a lot paler than usual, which concerned her, though Jack pushed the urge to vomit down inside his gut. Perhaps eating something will push his nauseous feeling down. Shaking his head, he wiped his mouth with the back of his hand, using the other to intertwine the tiny girl's hand with his again.
"Are you hungry? Let's go eat something." Jack said, without giving the girl even a chance to say anything, though she silently agreed because, who was to resist the idea of food?
"Bub, you gotta help be my eyes over here, tell me where the food stans are." Jack's voice snapped the girl out of her floaty thoughts, the fluttery feeling whenever her fingers interlaced with Jack's.
"O-oh!" She squeaked in surprise. "Uh— it's straight ahead!"
Jack's ear twitched at the different new sounds he wasn't used to. The sound of roller coasters, the people screaming and laughing, and the footsteps of different people, though he managed to nudge himself and the girl through their crowd, and get their food coupons.
(pls i have no idea how these work i haven't been to an amusement park in such a long time)
Of course, Jack didn't expect much from the cheap food stands, that probably only selled hotdogs and salted pretzels, but he didn't complain. As long as something fed his empty stomach, though he craved something that was more.. covered in blood and mayhaps was found in the human body.
So it was no surprise to him when the girl said she wanted to eat salted pretzels, and so Jack grabbed the bunch of food coupons he purchased and slid them over the food cart, biting the inside of his lip as he did so, carrying the hot as fuck salted pretzel drizzled in caramel and chopped almonds covered in paper, handing it over to the girl.
"It's hot." He murmured to the girl, warningly. "So blow on it first before eating it."
Meanwhile, he ordered himself a hotdog, ketchup only, because in his opinion, mustard tasted bleugh. He munched on the sausage, humming as the nauseous feeling gradually disappeared as his stomach was relieved to have some sort of food for the day.
Jack insisted on walking through the busy crowd, even though he didn't really like the idea, it was mainly to avoid any more spinny rides, and also because of the fact that if they were going to on another ride, you should digest what you ate before you go on any rides because.. things can end badly.
And so here they were, Hand in hand, as the two of them walked through the busy crowd, the girl probably having the ability to rotate her head 360 degrees by now because of how fast her head had turned left to right, eyes widening in amazement at such!! wonderful new things, she didn't know what to focus on for even 2 seconds before getting distracted by another thing.
Though her eyes drifted to the multiple colored fluffy clouds on a stick that people were carrying, mostly people around her age. Stuffing their faces into the colorful fluffy cloud, and taking a bite out of it, their eyes turning into crescents, smiling.
And she wondered if she were able to eat that fluffy colorful cloud, would she too, have the ability to be happy just as them? So, she decided to give it a go, tugging on Jack's hoodie again, looking up desperately.
"What's up?" Jack said.
"C-Can we get those fluffy coworful clouds?" The girl asked.
For a moment, Jack had to proccess what the hell was a fluffy colorful clouds, because by logic, he couldn't have jumped to the sky and grabbed a cloud for the girl, even though he wanted to. Though it finally clicked for him, what the fluffy colorful clouds meant.
Cotton Candy.
And though Jack promised to himself that he would be more strict on the girl, everytime the girl asked something with that tiny sweet honey voice of hers, he can't resist. It's always him clenching his fist tightly and closing his eyes, repeatedly telling himself 'nononono' in his head but then again, here he is, paying food coupons to the guy and getting a pink and blue cotton candy cone and handing it to the girl in shame.
Grateful, the girl took the fluffy colorful cloud in her hands, surprised at how big it looked, and how light it felt. Out of curiousity, she carefully picked a tiny piece of cotton candy and put it in her mouth. And it felt like stars exploded in her eyes, as she felt the cotton like candy melt into her tongue, sparks of sweetness coated on her tongue.
With an excited hum, she stuffed her entire face into the fluffy cloud, nomming on it, enjoying the sweetness, but not forgetting to save some of the cotton candy for Jack, using a tiny arm and a tug on Jack's hoodie again to get his attention.
Jack looked at the girl questioningly, as the girl extended the piece of cotton candy towards him.
"I s-saved some for you!" She said.
Heart warming at the sweet gesture, he chuckled before gently turning the offer down. "Sorry baby, I'm not a big fan of swee—"
His sentence was cut off my his startled gasp as he felt something get shoved into his open mouth, his eyes widening in surprise as he felt little fireworks of sweetness explode onto his tongue. As it quickly dissolved in his tongue, all he could manage out was a quiet "oh."
The girl giggled, finishing the rest of the cotton candy and using the cone as a sort of telescope, scanning the other main attractions of the amusement park. She turned around, still holding onto Jack's hand, and glanced up, and through the tiny hole of the paper cone, she could see flickering bright lights in the sky.
Curious, she lowered the cone down and her jaw dropped down in amazement. A sort of big round ride that moved slowly in the air, picking people up and rising them into the air, before dropping them down again. It's pretty lights flickering back to the girl, as if gesturing her to come to it.
"J-Jwackie, do you know what th-those big round rides that move s-slowly up into the air are called?" The girl asked out of curiousity.
"Ah. They're called Ferris Wheels, why ask?" Jack said, though deep down in his gut he one hundo percent knew the answer to.
The girl gnawed her lip in hesitation. "C-Can we go up there? T-To the fewwis wheel?"
Deep down somewhere inside Jack's mind right now, there was panicking. A red alarm rung. Disaster struck though he tried to repress his emotions. Fuck, the girl was too cute to handle, of course he's going to say yes.
"Of course." Jack said, with gritted teeth. "Just this last one ride though, okay? It's getting dark soon."
Eyes lit up with excitement the girl nodded. "Okay!" She practically bounced on her heels, dragging Jack through the crowd by his sleeve and towards the bright ferris wheel..
As they reached the entrance, Jack shoved what was most of the entry ride coupons he had towards the ferris wheel operator, before ushering the girl towards the tiny seat, and himself, lowering his head down so he wouldn't bang his head on the ceiling and plopping down on one of the soft leather red seats, opposite from where the girl sat.
The ferris wheel operator then closed the glass door shut tightly before patting against the hollow metal as an 'ok' sign, before stepping away, and pressing one of the many colorful buttons, making the ferris wheel start to move again at a slow pace.
Practically bouncing with excitement, the girl quickly waddled her way over towards Jack, wobbling a bit since her feet felt light and she could feel the gently sway of the ferris wheel seat swing back and forth at her movements. But she successfully managed to plop down beside Jack, with her knees on the leather seat, hands pressed against the glass window, peering down at the amusement park that was gradually growing smaller and smaller as they were lifted into the air higher and higher.
Jack, was pretty chill for the most part. He didn't have a fear of heights, unlike LJ. He thought that being lifted up from the air made his mind and stressful thoughts also disappear into the thin air. And with the girl's warm prescence near him, he couldn't have felt happier than he could've in his entire life right now.
The two spent the entire fifteen minutes in that tiny ferris wheel ride in silence. The girl still remaining in the same position, her face inching closer towards the clear glass, that could probably break from the intense pressure of her face against the glass window.
The scenery was really pretty she thought, as the clear blue sky slowly turned into warm liquid sunsets, a colorful blotch of a pink sunset and yellow skies. The amusement park seemed to be closing down, as the lights started to flicker off, and people started leaving.
"Thank you for t-taking me here today, Jwackie." The girl murmured softly, still not looking away from the glass.
Surprised, Jack turned his head over towards the girl, his heart fluttering. "Uh— Yeah.. No problem." Though his cheeks dusted a light pink.
"C-Can we go here again sometime?" The girl questioned, turning away to look at Jack, her eyes fond with happiness and love, her voice smooth and silky.
"Of course." Jack said with a small grin without hesitance.
🌙 🎡 🌙
The sun had finally set and it was now turning to dark, the soft lavendar skies beginning to appear and the shy tiny moon that hid behind the white fluffy clouds, as Jack carried the girl on his back, his arms hooked around her thighs.
It seemed like the girl had worn herself out quite a lot, which was understandable. And Jack didn't have any opinions carrying the girl on his back, only if it meant he could feel her soft breathing that tickled his ear a bit and her tiny body that could exclude this much warm heat from her, transferring the warmth to his own, cold body.
As he slowly walked away from the amusement park, with the girl on his back, he softly smiled to himself.
Today was fun, he thought.
He'll definitely come here with the girl again,
hoping things wouldn't change,
even if it were for the better, or for the worse.
