Chapter 2
If she was to say she wanted this, she'd be lying. Erin played with her hacker badge in deep thought thinking over her brief glance at the Virus commander tied up. To think this boy was somehow able to go against Motherboards wishes. She herself, had tried to do the same. The outcome was a painful one, she lost her mate and to live her friend, who was once a Anti at the time, Mark took her took be made into one of Motherboards helpers.
Erin felt like scoffing, more like minions. Unlike her fellow members here, she wasn't as brainwashed to think Motherboard was a Goddess of this world. Logic dictated for them, such things didn't exist in the viral world. Their Gods were their Creators, not something that created to take care of the system. She wasn't like the others, and it was both a blessing and curse.
She could think about the orders given rather then not feel anything as they did them. This order to capture the Virus Commander to turn him and his mate into what they were 'suppose' to be by Motherboards standers. She knew the system to be flawless, and all flaws were to be eliminated. But, the fact she wasn't brainwashed meant she still had feelings, and she felt bad for what was to come for these two.
Her thoughts turned back to Mark, who, like the others, gave in fully to the lies he was being spoon fed. She was often paired with him, as he was the only one to make sure she didn't go 'rouge' as they called flaws in the system.
Erin was to be a good hacker and do as Motherboard told, so she did just that. She remained obedient, it was in her codes to do so. She was a good hacker, she wanted to be one. But she knew, it was wrong. But Erin couldn't do anything about it, unlike Preston and Justin, he was bound to the codes. She was far from a Rouge, nor did she want to be one.
She played with the food on her fork in thought, no one noticing, too high on codes to care. She let her thoughts wander as she hoped Justin wouldn't come to them like they have planned for him too. Erin wanted him to get away, for his mate to escape. For Motherboard to leave them alone.
But, she was used to getting what she wanted. And she wanted the two to fall in line with the perfect system. Her creators wanted a perfect system, codes were meant to have flaws. Perfection comes with the sacrifice of many, nothing horrible about that.
But there was, Erin knew it, she saw it also. They were becoming like how the creators were, they were becoming flawed.
Though erased form history, some here knew how motherboard took care of that flawed race of men.
