Chapter Twenty Four: Half-Brother

A/n: Forgive me for not updating for weeks! Well, here's a new chapter! I hope you enjoy it!

Third POV:

That same night, Yamato Kento decided to speak and persuade Kousei's father to make the half-brothers meet. Also, it's time for the secrets to be out, already. Just like Kaori, he agreed to help Mitsuo to meet his half-brother because it won't just be for his sake. It will also be for Kousei's sake, too. He knocked at the door of the office of Arima Takahiko in the mansion after he had guided his son in his room in the mansion to rest after school. He had left Kaori to stay beside him and with his private nurse, looking out for him. The pain in his heart had subsided after a while but he knows that he still needs a nurse's supervision.

He sighed and when Takahiko had finally opened his door to make him enter, he faced him nervously as he tell him the reason why he came to meet him, "I wonder, sir... With your son's health condition... Isn't it better for him to know the secret of your family than keep it from him?"

Arima Takahiko looked at him as he walk closer to his table. "I've been thinking the same thing but if allow them to meet, I feel like I would be breaking my promise with the Zarazakis."

"Mitsuo is still your son, sir," Kento reminded him.

Takahiko knows it so well. Mitsuo is still his flesh and blood. He also knew that Mitsuo had been living alone and in sadness. Even though he does have a blood of a Zarazaki and an Arima, they had been refusing him to become a part of their families and so, he knew that the time to accept him will come and it is coming. He also knows that even Kousei should have been his legitimate heir to replace him in his position as the head of the Arima Clan, he knows that Kousei wouldn't be able to carry the burden of an heir. "I have to talk with the Zarazakis about it."

Yamato Kento felt relieved upon hearing him say those words. Even it seemed vague, he knows that Takahiko isn't refusing Mitsuo as his son anymore. Before he left, Takahiko spoke up, "Aren't you helping a childhood friend, Kento?"

He gulped. He wasn't a part of the family or even working with them at those times, yet. "Sir, how did you know?"

"I have my sources. You know how important my son is to me. Before I hired you as my son's bodyguard, I made a background check first. I made you his bodyguard due to your affiliation with him and also, I also learned that your father once worked as a bodyguard of my grandfather. I don't want to keep my sons in sorrow or even force them into a position in which I know they wouldn't be able to handle."

Kento felt confused and so, he returned in his old position to face Takahiko from the table where Takahiko sat once again, "Are you saying, sir... You want Mitsuo to replace you at the right time? You want to appoint him as your legitimate heir? Wouldn't that trouble you, sir? What will other people say?"

Takahiko laughed and told him, "You can make them meet already. Kousei has to know my secrets. I will visit the Zarazakis to persuade them that we have to accept him in our families. He had suffered for so long. He's innocent. He's a victim of my mistakes."

Kento bowed and thanked him.

...

The next day, Kento approached Kousei and Kaori quickly after their classes. Emi Igawa and Takeshi Aiza are with them at the time at the parking lot, near the black car. When Kento approached them after buying some cans of softdrinks, Emi and Aiza decided to leave but they were stopped by Kento. "You don't need to leave. I just want to tell young master about some good news," he told them.

Kaori smiled at Kousei and assured him, "It seems your father had already allowed us to let you know about your family's secret."

"What is it?" Kousei quickly asked them.

Then, from behind him, a twenty-one year-old boy appeared behind him. Kousei looked at him and Mitsuo's tears fell, bitter-sweetly. He quickly embraced his half-brother and introduced himself to him. Mitsuo and Kousei does look like each other. The only differences were their eyes since both of them inherited their mother's eyes. "I'm your half-brother, Mitsuo. I'm your elder brother. I have always wished to meet you. When you were born, my anger towards our father melted away."

The half-brothers began to cry with each other until he noticed that his brother is feeling strange. He held on his chest. Of course, all of the people became worried for him. Kousei noticed their anxious faces and so, he told them, "Why are all of you so worried for me? My heart isn't aching. My incisions are only itching again."

All of them looked at him and laughed.

"Hey! Don't you worry us!" Aiza told him.

He still does remember the day he saw him really feeling weak. Up until now, he considers him more and more as his hero and he still is a fan of Kousei. He had seen him rise up once again from falling down. He is even more surprised that he had become Kousei's friend. As they were chatting happily in the parking lot near the car, a black car parked in front of them. In a few seconds, a young woman went outside the car. She does have a smooth black hair and green eyes. She bowed at them and introduced herself to Kousei, "Good day to you, Kousei-san. I'm Phoenix Jane, your father's secretary."

He also bowed and said hi, to her. Phoenix informed him, "Your father wanted me to tell you and your half-brother that he wanted the two of you to meet him in a conference in Zarazaki Corporation's building. Both of you are invited to attend."

Mitsuo and Kousei sighed.

"He wanted to meet us?" asked Mitsuo.

Phoenix stared at Kento and noticed that he's blushing. She tried to hide her blush, too and replied at Mitsuo's question, "Yes."

After that, she bowed again before she left, "I hope we meet you there. It's an important meeting and it is today."

Mitsuo looked at Kento and asked him, "What is my father thinking? Why do we have to go at the corporation of my grandfather in my mother's side?"

Yamato finally revealed to him, "He doesn't just allowed you to meet your half-brother. He also planned to make the Zarazakis to accept you, for you to become his successor. Kousei has to be there, too as your witness."

Kousei doesn't understand what is happening and so, after he gestured Aiza and Igawa to leave, he asked them, "Can you tell me why we have to go at Zarazaki Corporation?"

Kaori looked at him, anxiously. She's overwhelmed in the turn of events. The past is slowly being revealed to him. Mitsuo felt scared at that time. He also felt ashamed that he seemed to have used his brother to be accepted in the families that threw his mother away but even so, he is thankful that the time finally came to him to become an official member of the Zarazaki Family and the Arima Family. "My mother... who just recently passed away... She's a Zarazaki. Kousei. Don't be angry with our father, okay? I am a product of my mother and our father's mistake when they were very young. You are born with love unlike me," he told him.

Kousei was shocked by what he learned and a tear fell down his eyes after knowing that both of their mothers are both gone already. He wondered how their father feels after losing two women in his life. He calmed himself. "I think we should go, now. They're maybe waiting for us, already."

They went inside the car after that. Kento went at the driver's seat while Kaori went at the front passenger seat to let the brothers talk with each other more as they go at the building of Zarazaki Corporation.
