Chapter 1: Darkness

In the darkest corner of the universe, past the realm of mortal comprehension, existed a kingdom ruled by a being of unimaginable power, the Devil God. His existence intertwined with the shadows, his essence woven into the fabric of darkness itself. His realm, a mirror reflection of the abyss, was a place few dared to tread.

Taehyung sat on his obsidian throne, his gaze piercing the eternal darkness. Shadows danced around him, responding to his will. He was not a lonely king. The darkness was his companion, his confidante, his weapon, and his armor. He was one with it, and it was one with him.

The Devil God's realm, shrouded in a veil of darkness, was a place where light dared not tread. Within its boundaries, a world of shadows and nightmares existed, ruled by the ruthless king of all demons, Taehyung. His reign was unquestioned, his power unchallenged.

Until now.

"Times are changing," Yoongi had said to him as they sat around his throne. The five lords that have been controlling his realm according to his wishes were gathered to discuss a worrisome issue of demons going missing.

His kingdom was divided into sections, each controlled by a Lord as powerful and as feared as Taehyung himself.

The first of the Lords, Yoongi, was the Lord of Desolation. He controlled the barren wastelands of Taehyung's realm. His power was over elements, able to summon storms and cause earthquakes with a mere flick of his wrist. His icy gaze was a mirror of his domain, cold and unyielding. Yet, despite his volatile powers, Yoongi was the most level-headed among them. His relationship with Taehyung was one of mutual respect, their personalities complementing each other.

The closest to him was Jungkook, the Lord of War. He ruled over the battlegrounds, his power over weaponry and combat unmatched. His skills in battle were unparalleled, his strength unrivaled. His relationship with Taehyung was complex. They were often at odds, their competitive nature clashing, yet when it came to protecting their realm, their unity was unbreakable. He was always at his side as a guardian and a weapon. Not that he needed one.

The Devil God, was an entity of pure power and dominance. His eyes, a deep shade of crimson, glowed with a dangerous allure. His charisma was as commanding as it was intimidating, and his aura was as captivating as it was terrifying. He was the embodiment of darkness, his powers derived from the abyss itself.

"Which one was it that thinks got away from my kingdom?" He questioned nonchalantly as if it didn't in the slightest bothered him.

"Ezekiel, my King," Jimin said with a soft voice. The Demon that had escaped was from his grasp.

Jimin, the Lord of Lust, controlled the pleasures and desires. His charm was his weapon, his allure irresistible. He held power over emotions, able to stir and manipulate feelings with ease. Even the Devil Gid had difficulties resisting his charms most of the time. Despite his playful demeanor, Taehyung knew not to underestimate him.

"Ah, Ezekiel," he whispered summoning a cloud of shadows into his palm with a single twist of his hand. " There you are, you little demon."

He spoke to the image in his palm that showed Ezekiel's current whereabouts. Everyone looked at it with awe. It never got old, how he could summon everything he so desired with a flick of his wrist.

He could manipulate shadows, bending them to his will. He could summon dark creatures, the nightmares that lurked under beds and in the corners of minds. He was the master of illusion, able to distort reality to his liking. And now, as it seemed into the collection of his endless powers, was added the ability to sought out his demons wherever they were.

His power over darkness was absolute.

Yet they seem to be growing constantly.

"That is incredible," Jin, the oldest demon lord in the room exclaimed. "When did you learn to do that?"

Jin was the Lord of Time, he controlled the clock towers, his domain a maze of ticking clocks and shifting sands. His power over time was a marvel, the ability to manipulate moments, to quicken or slow the passage of time.

'I need to find her! Please let me in! I need to find the princess!' His demon exclaimed pacing back and forth in front of a gate that belonged to another realm.

Taehyung allowed the cloud levitate away from his hand. He snapped two fingers, and the demon in the clouds was suddenly kneeling in front of him.

The room fell into a hushed silence as the weight of their gazes bore down upon the scene, anticipation and uncertainty filling the air.

Taehyung's voice, calm and steady, pierced through the silence.

"Tell me, demon, who is the princess you seek?" He questioned with the same indifference, someone would ask the weather.

"Princess Evelyn, my King," he said bowing lower still to show respect and hide fear.

"What is your purpose in finding her?" His words carried a mix of caution and intrigue, as he sought to understand the demon's intentions.

What would a demon such as himself could have to do with a princess of light?

The demon, his eyes filled with a mixture of fear and determination, rose to his feet.

"I beg you, my King," he pleaded, his voice tinged with desperation. "The princess holds the key to our salvation. She alone possesses the power to break the ancient curse that has plagued our realm for centuries. Without her, our world will crumble into darkness."

Taehyung's brow furrowed, this was strange to him. Why would a demon fear darkness?

"And why do you think that is a bad thing? We feed off of darkness," the Devil God demanded to know.

"My King," Hoseok interrupted. "I think the demon seeks to deceive you. I believe we should have him questioned more thoroughly."

Hoseok, the Lord of Deception, ruled over the misty labyrinths, his power over illusions and deceptions making his domain the most unpredictable. His laughter was as deceiving as his illusions, masking the dangerous mind underneath. Taehyung and Hoseok shared a bond of camaraderie, their shared love for mischief and chaos forging a strong alliance.

"Now, why would I do that when I can simply peek through his mind!" Taehyung said, with an eerie calmness.

Seconds later, he did exactly that with a flick of his wrist, he forced Ezekiel's memories out of his mind, and into the mirror cloud that reflected his every thought, emotion and memory. However, this meant that the demon was now drained of whatever source of life or energy kept him a conscious being. And as the last of his memories played on the cloudy monitor the Devil God had summoned, his body turned to ash and dissolved into thin air, disappearing as he never existed.

They got a glimpse of a girl, her face was not recognizable as it was blurred by light. Light their eyes couldn't bear face, much less distinguish. They heard her laughter, saw her lips curl up in a sweet smile, they felt warmth, happiness. Emotions that should never exist in realms such as this. Whoever that was, she had tried to steal his demon from his darkness and bask it into her light. He wouldn't allow that to go unpunished.

"The kingdom of light is stealing my soldiers!" he seethed with anger. " I will not let that slide. Perhaps I should remind that princess why I am not to be trifled with."

" I would advise against it," Namjoon said in a calm tone. "My king, although, in a battle against her you would most certainly win, I believe this princess acted alone. We could confront her, but I doubt her realm would let you punish one of their own. Going after her would only be seen as casus beli from the rest of the realms."

Namjoon was the Lord of Wisdom and Strategy, who controlled the ancient libraries. His power over knowledge and wisdom was immense, his intellect a beacon in the darkness of their realm. His relationship with Taehyung was one of deep respect and shared wisdom. Which is one of the reasons why Taehyung listened to him more than anyone else.

"I hope you don't expect me to do nothing. You'll be setting yourself up for disappointment," he warned.

Namjoon smiled.

"No, my king, I believe that will be impossible for you," he continued. " what I would suggest is for you to pay her kindness with the same courtesy."

The Devil God raise eyebrow intrigued.

"I'm listening," he said.

"From what I saw, she trapped the demon and pulled him in the light realm through a dream," Namjoon summarized what they had seen into the dark cloud through the memories of the demon named Ezequiel. "You could do exactly the same to her. I know for a fact that it is possible. Yet it is forbidden, and we must not get caught."

Taehyung smirked with a sinister glimmer dancing in his blood red eyes. Everyone in the room realized that he had made a decision to do so.

Despite their differences, the Lords were united under the Devil God's rule, their loyalty to their King unflinching. They were the pillars that held up the dark kingdom, their presence as integral as the darkness itself.

The Devil God's realm was a place of darkness and power, but it was also a place of unity and loyalty. It was a testament to their rule, a testament to their power. But above all, it was a testament to their unyielding and unbreakable bond.

Taehyung's power as the Devil God is derived from darkness and the abyss itself. He holds control over shadows, was able to manipulate them at will and bend them to his desires ever since he was three. His ability to summon dark creatures and distort reality with illusions was also part of his power set. This connection to darkness gave him immense strength and made him a formidable ruler in the Dark realm.

His eyes flickered with a cold light as he stared into the void, his mind focused on the mortal realm. The humans, with their fleeting lives and their constant battles against the shadows, intrigued him. They feared the darkness, yet they couldn't exist without it. Their fear, their resistance, their courage, and their despair, all of it was a fascinating spectacle to him.

With a wave of his hand, the shadows around him shifted, forming a window to the mortal world. He watched them, their joys, their sorrows, their victories, and their defeats. He saw kings rise and fall, lovers meet and part, heroes triumph, and villains perish. All of it, part of an endless cycle.

He had summoned the Princess of Light, he wondered why the cloud showed him the mortal realm. And then he saw her.

Or so he thought. Her features were covered in unbearable light that blurred most of her features.

A young Princess of Light, already a guardian of her realm? That was rare, Guardians usually took more time and training, she should be too young to be given that title. He could determine very little, but he still saw a few things. Her eyes reflecting determination and a spirit unbowed by the world's cruelty. She was a beacon in the darkness the mortal realm usually resided in, a flame that refused to be extinguished.

He leaned forward, his interest piqued. The shadows around him stirred, echoing his curiosity. Here was a soul that stood out from the rest—a soul that could perhaps even stand against the darkness. A soul that shone so bright even it the dark clouds he summoned, she almost blinded him.

A slow, wicked smile curled upon Taehyung's lips as he watched the woman. This was a game he hadn't played in a long time. A game of shadows and light, of fear and courage, of despair and hope.

His powers surged as he manipulated the shadows once again. This time, however, it wasn't to observe but to interact. It was time for the Devil God to step into the mortal realm. It was time for the game to begin.

Little did the Devil God know, this game would change not just the mortal realm, or the realm of Light, but his own world forever.
