"Night" I turned off the lights and fell asleep into a lovely dream about Luke and I. We were going to take this week as a holiday for all of us. Just relaxing as none of us knew what was in store when we went back to school. 

-TIME SKIP TO FAE'S BIRTHDAY (2 WEEKS) AND SERENA'S POV-

It was Fae's birthday but we had to get up as we were going back to Secondary school. I had set my alarm for 6am as school was at 8:20. It took 20 minutes to get to the school. We were considering getting the bus but I wanted to drive in. I went into Ash's room and woke him up. I then woke up Luke and Calum and snuck into Fae's room to wake up Luke. I was planning a surprise for her. After 10 minutes of them getting up, I started sorting out my plan. It was 7am and I heard Fae's alarm go off. 

-FAE'S POV-

I woke up to the sound of  American Idiot playing from my phone then I remembered. Crap. I have school. I looked over at Luke but he wasn't there. I assumed he had got up early to get dressed which was completely out of character. We could both sleep through an earthquake. I got up and grabbed an outfit I had planned the night before. A medium length black dress with short sleeves, black tights and converse allstars with a black hoodie and a leather jacket over the top. It could have gone so much worse lets just say. I went out of my room and walked downstairs into the living room. No one was around so I assumed that they were sleeping. I walked into the dining room quietly. "HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!" They jumped out of their hiding places and screamed. I completely forgot it was my birthday. On the dining table were pancakes, waffles, brioche and a huge chocolate cake.
"Sit down Fae and eat some breakfast" I obeyed, grabbed two pancakes and sat at the head of the table. The boys sat down. Luke and Michael were next to me.
"We each have a present each then two group presents" Calum said.

"Guys. I don't need all these really!" I said

"No. You deserve it Fae. You are amazing and deserve the best" Michael said with a lot of love in his voice.

"Aww thanks Michael. That's really sweet". I saw Luke give him the death glare. Serena brought out 7 presents and 7 cards. 

"The group presents aren't in this pile. They are after school. You will probably have to open them after this school stuff", Serena said. I sighed but tried to stay calm as it was my birthday.

"How long have we got?" I asked.

"Let me check" Serena checked her phone. "HOLY HADES! Fae! Makeup, teeth and hair. We have to go in 15 minutes! Open your presents in school as I am driving in!" I jumped up and ran to my ensuite bathroom. I put on foundation, eyeliner, mascara and a dark lipstick. I grabbed my bracelets and choker and placed them on. I then grabbed my bag which contained a pencil case filled with pens, highlighters, pencils etc. I also had chewing gum, money, a note book and my phone with headphones attached. "FAE! TIME TO GO!!" Serena yelled. I ran downstairs and tripped. 

"Ugh" I groaned as I fell to the ground.

"Fae. You OK?" Luke asked me. I nodded. He held his hand out which I gladly accepted. He pulled me up and pulled me into a hug. "You look really pretty today" I smiled and looked at him. He had his lip ring in which was strange. He hadn't had it in for a while but it was hot. He had on black skinny jeans, a Metallica shirt and a hoodie. He had his black converse laced up and his bracelets were there on his wrist. He put his arm around my shoulders and we started to walk to the car.  Calum, Michael, Ash and Serena were standing there looking at us. There were  kids at the bus stop staring.

"Come on Love birds! Hurry up. We gotta go!" Ash and Calum shouted. The kids looked over at us and I blushed like mad.

"HAHAHA! WE MADE FAE BLUSH!" Calum laughed as we got in the van that Serena had bought recently.

"Where do we have to go when we get there?" Serena asked me as we put our seatbelts on. I was in the front.

"She said to go to Reception and tell them who we are. They will then escort us to the Mrs Wright's office" I replied. She nodded. I used the bunny filter on Snapchat and posted it on my story with the caption 'Off to school on my 19th Birthday... Yay'. The car journey was long and freaky. It was bringing back memories of the hell hole and I felt extremely uncomfortable. Serena could see it.

"It's only Langton. You can misbehave and not get caught now". She said and we began laughing. The boys looked confused. "When Good Girls came out, I swear you wrote that about Fae. Apart from her 'not reading books' and her being a good girl. She was a rebel". Serena explained and I laughed.

"Wait how?" Luke asked.

"Mate! I used to skip classes on the daily. Used to go out with mates to the local park and smoke weed with them all the time. Serena hated me but we somehow became friends". I laughed. Luke was pulling a look. I couldn't decipher it. Intrigue maybe? We parked by the houses near the school and walked into reception. 

"Can I help you?" The receptionist said.

"Hi. I'm Fae Oakes and these are my friends. Mrs Wright rung me up two and a bit weeks ago" 

"Oh. Yes yes. Follow me" The woman got up and opened a barrier. She beckoned us to follow which we did. We then followed the receptionist and walked into Mrs Wright's office. It was a white room with pictures and trophies. There was a desk with a big chair facing away from a large window overlooking the tennis courts. There was a table that had refreshments on it and a large brown couch. It was exactly how I remembered it. I spent a lot of time in this room.  Mrs Wright was standing in the corner on the phone. She saw us walk in and hung up.

"Oh. Fae. Serena. Welcome back to Langton! I see you have the lovely 5 Seconds of Summer boys with you. How wonderful! Now girls. We have someone who wants to see you. You may remember him but you may not". Mrs Wright picked up the phone and called a very short number. "Leanne. Bring the boy in and everything these students will need". She then put the phone on the hook. "Feel free to have some refreshments". The boys went to the biscuits that were on the table. Serena and I were a bit awkward about it. "You lot have your own personal rule each to follow as well as the school rules". We nodded. "Serena!" Serena jumped. "Do you remember the school rules?" She nodded.

"Don't bully. Don't backchat. Don't skip classes. No talking unless permitted in class. You must go to registration. No going to the nurse to get water on a rainy day. You must bring your planner and timetable and you must not litter" Serena told her, to which Mrs Wright nodded.

"You also have your own rules. Serena. No pranks. Ashton. No tapping. Luke. No asking anyone what bad words mean. Calum. No taking your shirt off. Mikey. No humming in class and Fae. Don't be the way you were last time you were here" The receptionist poked her head around the corner of the door. "Yes. Yes. Fae. Serena. I'm about to show you someone special. Close your eyes". We obeyed. First we heard books being put on the table. Then we heard shuffling and a stifled laugh. "Open your eyes". We opened our eyes and saw who was in front of us. He was tall, pale skinned and ginger. He had blue-grey eyes and was wearing a Christmas jumper, black jeans and some Nikes. I smiled and started crying.
"Hey Serena. Hey Fae". It was our best friend from this school. Liam. We both jumped up and sprinted to hug him.
"Liam! Oh my gosh! It's been WAAAY too long!"
"Yeah. Like the new me?" I nodded. See Liam hadn't always been Liam. He had been Leanne before but we hadn't seen him in four years. "I'm here because Mrs Wright wanted you to have your new friends and old friends. By the way, congrats on getting the guys you've fancied since you were 16. I'm proud". Serena and I blushed like mad. 

"Now now. Time for your timetables". Mrs Wright handed them out. We compared them and turns out. We were split up for a few lessons. Serena and I were together for Maths. Luke and I were together for English and History. Ash, Lee (Liam's nickname) and I were there for Art, Cal and I had Physics, Chemistry and Biology together and Michael and I had Physical Education together. I was alone for Spanish, Welsh and ICT but we were together for Music. "Right off to your first lesson!" We sighed and looked at our timetable. Looks like I had Spanish on my own but then I had English with Luke. I gave them all hugs and headed to the Spanish room with Serena as she had French next door to me. I walked out of the head teacher's room and up the stairs. I saw a lot of kids looking at me and whispering "Oh my god. It's Fae and Serena from Amicorum. I hope Michael and Ashton are here". I finally got to my Spanish room A16 and Serena got to A15 we turned to each other and gave each other and gave encouraging smiles to each other and knocked on the doors.

"Come in. Come in" I heard a familiar voice. I smiled and opened the door. I saw my Spanish teacher from when I came here all those years ago. Señora Williams. She looked exactly the same. She was tall, tanned and had dark, mouse brown hair. She was wearing a white blouse and a black skirt. She smiled as I walked in.
"Fae. Hello. Please sit down!" I nodded.
"I want to surprise the class, so could you please distract them so it would be a surprise?" I asked her, to which she agreed and I hid in the cabinet at the back of the room. After around five minutes later I heard the class come in.
"Hola, clases. Today we are going to do las musicás. Who wants to tell me who they listen to at home?" Señora Williams said to the class, I open the door a little to see the class and also to hear them better. At least 14 hands shot up, Señora pointed to the first one she could see.
"Covers of songs that are done by Amicorum." The girl said to Señora, 'awww' I thought to myself and got ready to go out of the cabinet, I gave Señora a thumbs up.
"Well, speaking of Amicorum, one thing you may not know about them is that they came to this school and I was there Spanish teacher and both Serena and Fae sat at the back of the room in the corner..." At this point I quietly came out of the cabinate and sat in my old seat "... and I think you fill find a few drawings from both the girls if you look at that desk carefully." After Señora finished the entire class turned to face the desk I was sitting at and their jaws dropped.
I got up and started walking to the front of the class and heard the class next door scream 'guessing Serena made her entrance', I smirked a little and turned to Señora.
"It's good to be back in this class Senora. It's been too long. May I use the phone, por favor?" Señora nods her head and moves out of the way. I got to the phone and called Mrs Wright.

-phone convo (bold is Fae and normal is Mrs Wright)-
Hey Mrs Wright, I was wondering that if instead of introducing ourselves every lesson that we should do an assembly for the entire school because otherwise there would be hardly any work being done.
Yes. Of course. You are in class now?
Yeah. The class went insane when they saw me as with Serena. I heard them from next door.
Well if you think it's best then we will hold one.
Then I heard Mrs Wright's voice over the speakers.
"Attention all staff. Please take your pupils to the main assembly hall with the exception of the five special guests. The other two guests meet up and get the others please". I smiled at Señora Williams and walked out of the classroom. I saw Serena waiting for me.
"Liam, Michael and Calum are in Geography and Ash and Michael are in Biology". We nodded and put our hoods up to make us less noticeable. I heard people whispering and wondering who the special guests were. We laughed to ourselves. To save time, we decided that it would be best to split up and get the boys separately. I was getting Liam and Calum and Serena was getting the other three. We walked up passed the blocks of classrooms and made our way to the crossing between the Science and Music, Art, Geography and History block. We hugged and said we would meet smack bang in the middle. I walked into the Geography block and walked into the classroom. 

"FAE! AM I GLAD TO SEE YOU?!" Calum yelled.

"Yeah. Nice to see you Fae". Michael said and winked. I twitched.

"Come on. Let's go". 

"Wait". The teacher said. "You need to go to the counselor's room and wait for your cue. Go on the stage with your hoods on and faces covered OK?" We nodded and walked to the middle of the crossing of the two blocks. Luckily, Serena, Ash and Luke were there. I ran and jumped into Luke's arms. He caught me and hugged me.

"What's up hon?"

"Nothing. Missed you". He kissed me and put me down. We then walked to the counselor's room and waited by the stairs to the stage. We had to cover our faces. Luckily, Serena had packed masks for her Art class. All our masks were plain and white. Serena had hoodies for the boys seeing as they forgot. We were also given microphones. Liam went into the Main hall to watch what would happen and film it for Amicorum and 5 Seconds of Summer. Serena and I had some news to tell the crowd too. We could hear Mrs Wright talking.

"Hello all. Now you may be wondering why I am calling you on this occasion. Some of you may have seen some new people go around the school and appear in your lessons. Well. I would like to bring them out. Can they please come out with their masks and hoods on and with microphones on". We turned out microphones on and Serena and I left our bags on the counselor's chair. We did have permission. Then we walked up the stairs and onto the stage. "Mysterious person closest to me take off your hoodie first and then your mask" Mrs Wright said. I saw Serena take off her hoodie and mask. People started to scream Serena motioned for me to take my things off. I had to take my leather jacket off and my hoodie. I put my leather back on and took off my mask. The crowd roared. I heard a few 'I LOVE YOU FAE' comments in the crowd. I motioned for Luke to take his hoodie and mask off. He looked at me with puppy dog eyes. I gave in, gave my microphone to Serena and took his hoodie and mask off for him. The crowd roared. Then Ash, Michael and Calum took their masks and hoodies off. The crowd was hectic. I grabbed my microphone off of Serena and spoke into it. 

"What is up Langton?" There were loads of screams. Luke then spoke.

"Bet ya didn't expect this huh?" I laughed. Serena spoke.

"Well. We are here and Fae and I have some news". She looked at me so I spoke.

"If any of you think we are sellouts after this then go do a cat". Liam laughed. He used to say that all the time back in the day. "We want you all to know that. if we made it out of here, you can too" Mrs Wright looked at me disapprovingly, came up to me and said away from the microphone.

"We have about five children who are in a band and won a contest. Do you think you could sign stuff for them?" I nodded.

"Yeah. Should be fine. We could do it now if you want. Also, hold another contest. There can be 20 winners and we can do an acoustic Q and A in the sixth form canteen at the end of the week" Mrs Wright nodded. 

"OK. Well. Let me tell them". She grabbed her microphone. "Can the five winners from last weeks competition please come up?" They got up and walked up to the stage. "You guys will be going to the music room now to do the signings" They nodded. "ASSEMBLY OVER! BACK TO CLASS!" The kids nodded and walked back to class as we walked to the music room. It was much bigger than I remembered. There were guitars that I was desperate to mess with. There were eleven chairs and we all down on them. Liam sat in the corner recording everything. We signed all the things they wanted signed and then I decided to speak to them about their band. They introduced themselves as Kyle, Brian, Lacy, Brianna and Andy. Kyle looked like a jock, Lacy looked to be popular, Brianna looked like one of those outcasts, Brian had glasses and was a bit nerdy and Andy looked like the stereotypical emo kid. Kyle was the drummer, Brian was the pianist, Lacy was the bassist, Brianna was lead guitar and lead vocalist and Andy was the other guitarist/singer. It was so cool seeing these kids from different stereotypes in a band. They called their band Save Our Souls.

"What bands influence you then?" Ash asked.

"All Time Low, Blink, you guys and Amicorum". Kyle said.I was in shock and I think Serena was too. 

"Fae...Fae.. Fae.. You OK?" I shook out of my daze and saw Calum clicking his fingers.

"Wa-Yep. Yep. I'm OK. Just in shock"

"Why?" Brianna asked.

"I think it's because I've literally spent my entire life thinking this would fail. Then when this big break came, I finally said, 'This may work'. It still shocks me that we are normal people influencing younger people". I answered.

"Yeah. You're really cool, pretty and perfect though". That tore me apart. I stood up and left the room. I'm not cool. I'm an autistic freak with anxiety and panic attacks. There is no way I am cool. I am the opposite of perfect and pretty is a massive overstatement. I was sitting in the hallway crying. Michael came out and sat with me.

"Hey hon. What's up?" He pulled me in for a hug.

"They think I'm cool and pretty and perfect. I'm not though. I still think my career is going to crash and burn at any point and I'm no good" I cried into his chest.

-Serena's POV-

Luke is pissed. Luke is uber pissed. He was about to get up to make sure Fae was OK but Michael got up first. I got Calum to escort them back to class as I knew something was going down. Luke was pacing around waiting for Michael to come back. I had to call Cal as I could see Michael was coming back.

-Ash's POV--

I was terrified for Luke and Michael's safety. When Luke got pissed, that was it.

-Michael's POV-

I had sent Fae to grab her bag and sort her makeup. I walked into the room. The kids had filed out just after Fae left as we could all tell that she wasn't in the right mental state to deal with anything.

-Serena's POV-

Calum was running back here and Luke was pissed. "MICHAEL CLIFFORD! WHERE IS MY GIRLFRIEND?!"

"Jesus Christ. I've sent her to the toilets to sort her makeup out". Luke walked over to Michael. Ash was there on standby.

"Listen here Luke. She is mine. You hear that? MY girlfriend. You had your chance but you lost it. You lost it a long time ago." If pissed Luke wasn't bad. Michael did a bit of a dick thing.

"She loves me more than she'll ever love you". Stupid move Michael, Stupid move. Luke lunged at him. Thank God Calum came back to stop this. I ran to the nearest toilets to sort out Fae. I opened them and heard her crying. 

"Fae. It's me". I said quietly. She opened a cubicle and was sitting there crying. I knew what it was about and ran to grab my makeup. "You are beautiful and you are perfect". I said as she got up for me to fix it. 

"Why could I hear shouting?" She sniffled. 

"Luke and Michael were having a little fight that's all. It'll be okay". I said as I fixed her makeup

-After arguing has cooled down-

-Luke's POV-

I felt so sorry for Fae. I ruined her birthday. I love her so much and Michael being a prick wasn't on. It was now lunch and I hadn't seen her in hours. We had Music next so I was bound to see her. We made up for her. We both love her but Michael was willing to back down. For her sake.

-MUSIC CLASS-

-Fae's POV-

I walked into music class and sat down away from everyone else. The teacher introduced himself as Mr Smith. We were going to be learning how to play piano and sing songs. "Fae. Come up here" The teacher called me out. I reluctantly got up and walked to the front of the class making sure I avoided looking at Michael and Luke. "Sing us two songs" The teacher asked.

"Can I play the acoustic?" The teacher nodded. I grabbed that and a stool. I started to sing a cover of Too Late. Mid song, I heard Ash tapping. I motioned for him to come up. We started playing together. Then for the second song, I played Let It Be on the piano. I started crying mid song. I looked down on the ground and continued. After I had finished, I sat down and refused to look at them. They had ruined my birthday. When we were doing compositions, Luke came up to me. I was in a music room on my own.

"Please talk to me". I refused to. "Fae. I'm sorry". He said. 

"For what?! Fighting Michael on my birthday!" I realised what I did and profusely apologised. "I didn't mean to snap. I'm just fed up. You'll be going off to record and tour soon and I don't know if I'll be able to do it". I cried out.

"Come with us then. We are going in a couple of days. You and Serena. Experience LA with us. I want you there". He said. I was considering it but right now. All I could think of was my birthday.
