Chapter 2

Lachlan's P.O.V (The Summoner)

After calling it a night, I could help pace around my room just trying to what that blue shock meant. It clearly wasn't a normal shock, right? All 6 of us received one at the exact same time and all different colors, some of them weren't even natural colors that electricity could, I mean Mitch got pink for crying out loud. Also the blue I was shocked with was a deep blue that was too dark to be natural. This was bothering me so much that I even went to my brother who was staying with me for the week, and he even couldn't figure out what the meaning was, but he did give me a great suggestion. I went back to my room, sat on the bed, closed my eyes, and took a deep breath. Next I thing know, a little white, three headed dragon appeared in front of me. Now most people would probably freak out at the sight, but it never bothered me because that was an ability I had. I could summon and desummon the dragon that now sat I front of me at will, along with one other thing that I have kept a secret from everyone including my siblings. I'm just scared that everyone will think I'm a freak, but there is an interesting story behind how I found out about my ability.

-Flashback-

When I was 10, I had a bit of an obsession with dragons. I loved everything about them, from their designs to the way they acted. In all of my free time I either read, or wrote about dragons, or drew pictures of them, but I ended up getting bullied a lot for believing in those types of things. Though I never lost faith in what I believed in. Then one fateful day, my life changed forever.

I came home from school, and thought it would be just another normal day, but boy was I wrong. As I walked up the drive way, I noticed that my brother and sister were standing around some sort of box that was placed at the door. Once I came up to it the front of the box said "Please take good care of him," but the more unusual part was that the box was empty. None of us could figure out the purpose of the box, until I placed my hand on the it and the most amazing moment of my life occurred. A faint, red glow came from my hand and spread across the box, then just out of thin air, a tiny, white, baby, three headed dragon appeared in a sleeping state. The others jumped back in shock, while all I could was just to stand in awe, he was the most beautiful creature I have ever seen. Its pure white scales shimmered in the light, there was 2 sets of wings, each being translucent with a golden outline on the top, 2 stubby little legs and feet, and the most adorable short tail with a golden orb on the tip. I was about to reach  in and  pick the little dragon until my sister yelled,

"Lachlan! Don't touch that thing, it could be dangerous!"

"First off, this is clearly a dragon. Second, it's a baby and it's sleeping, what could it possibly do." I responded.

"Are you sure? We don't even know where it came from." My brother exclaimed. That made me realize that I must have done it, when I looked back and remembered the strange glow from earlier, Before I got the chance to tell them, I noticed the dragon eyes began to flutter open. My heart raced in excitement at the sight of each of the heads had a  different eye color, the middle was black, the right was red, and the left had the same ocean blue as my eyes. Then it glanced up at me, and at that very moment I was over ran with joy. The smile on each face, cause mine to go ear to ear, but it was slightly interrupted when I heard a quite but clear voice that nearly seemed to be in my head,

"Hello!" Then I just froze, trying to figure out where the voice had come from, and when I asked if they knew, they thought I was going crazy, because all they heard was a cheerful whimper that came from the young dragon. Unsure about what happened, I decided to try to speak to him and maybe find out what was going on.

"Ummm..... H-hello t-t-there. By any chance were you the one who spoke to me earlier?" I questioned, reproaching the box.

"Well yes, but I didn't know you could understand me. Wait! That means you're my summoner."

"Your summoner?" I asked, but before continuing I told the others to wait for me inside, the conversation didn't seem so out of place.

"Yes, you were the one who brought me here. You are clearly very special if you were gifted with this ability. Oh ya, by they what's your name?"

"It's  Lachlan, but who gave me this 'gift'?" I wondered as the dragon jumped out of the box.

"No one really. A person is born a summoner, but they aren't able to use their ability till the age of ten."

"Okay, makes a bit more sense, but why can I understand you, but my brother and sister couldn't?"

"A summoner isn't blood lined, but is chosen before birth, and only the one who summoned the creature can understand them."

"That's so cool! Wait what if my parents see you, they might try to send you away."

"Don't worry about that. You have the ability to desummon me as well to keep me hidden, then if you ever need me, just resummon, easy." With that we walked inside and told them about the whole summoner thing and we agreed  that we would never bring any of it up to our parents. Later that day he taught me how to control my summoning powers, so when my parents came home he would stay hidden. I asked him if he had a name, he said no but I could give him. Just over a week had passed, Mitchell (His brother's name) took notice on how similar we were personality wise, so he gave him the name of Lil' Lachy, I thought it was cute so I went with it.

Over the years he was my closest friend, he was so close to me the I forbade anyone to call him my pet. Lil' Lachy was the one I mainly turned to for anything, when I was sad, alone, angry, confused, and some time happy even, I never felt like no one was there for me ever since. Everything was perfect. It was, until I turned fifteen and my life changed for the better and the worse.

I was going for a late night stroll with Lil' Lachy by my side, when a group of 3 men dressed in black suits, and dark sunglasses approached us. I was in too much shock that someone had found us that I could focus on desummoning him. They said that I could had him over peacefully and no harm would come to the dragon and he would be returned from anywhere from a month to a year, but if I refused then they would take him with force and he would get hurt while they ran test him and I would never get back him back (Lil' Lachy can't be desummoned if their are not in the same room or area). I wasn't about to let my best friend be taken away from me just to be tortured and experimented on, so I told them to get lost and began to walk away. That was until one of the picked me up and held me back while the other 2 went to grab Lil' Lachy, he saw how terrified I was and finally revealed his true power. Flare (the head with red eyes) set one of the men on fire, Frost (head with blue eyes) froze the other into a solid ice cube, and Lachy (the middle head) electrocuted the man hold so he would let go. We were about to run off when a 4th man wearing full military gear and tranquilizer ready to go came out of no where and pointed the gun at the Lachy (the middle controls the whole body besides the other heads, but renders their powers useless if middle is taken out). And once he pulled the trigger time slowed down as I realized that Lil' Lachy and I had been through everything together ever since age 10 and wasn't going let them try to take him. So I ended up making the most crazy decision of my life, I leaped in front of him and hugged him so the tranquilizer would take me out instead. I also waited for an impact that never happened.

I slowly opened my eyes to see Lil' Lachy still standing in front of me but with eyes widened in amazement, and he appeared to be looking behind me. I look back and saw man from before frozen and with his jaw dropped, and I nearly was to when I noticed that their was a beautiful, pure white, dragon wing that glistened in the moonlight in the center of my view. the man ended up fainting right then and their. Once I got to my feet I for some reason I just noticed that the wing was mine and I now had wings, also the dart that was fried somehow bounced off  the my wing and shattered on the ground. To be safe, before we left Lil' Lachy healed the men but wiped their memories and replaced them. On the way home Lil' Lachy told me that if a summoner risks their life for their creature, they then (in mostly my case) earn their 'wings' or in other words the summoner gains a trait that relates to their spirt animal or the creature that the summoner has, but I was scared. Scared someone might find me out like they did to Lil' Lachy, scared that I would be a freak of nature even by my family. So Lil' Lachy made a promise to me, that for saving his life he would train so could fly and have a way to hide me wings. That's how it has been since, and I now have full control which I'm grateful for.

-End of Flashback-

I got real annoyed when even Lil' Lachy didn't couldn't figure out what the blue shock meant, but I decided to let it go for now and call it a night. Little did I know that was my last normal night for quite some time.

DUN, DUN, DUNNNNNNNNNNN! Hey there I hope you have enjoyed this chapter it will probably be a bit longer than future chapters. This will be the most likely most in depth back story chapter because I had a lot of ideas for this one. Just a bit of a heads up is that I'm going to volley ball try outs for the next few days so I may not update as fast as I would like to, so wish me luck and maybe I'll make the team this year ;) Till next time
