A wooden painted door creeped open as a person shoved open the door. The person strode purposefully in and looked at the unconscious cats, who were lying on a bed. He put his finger on one of the cats' heart to see if it was still alive. Heartbeats surged under his finger, warm and pulsing and alive, from the gray tabby cat.

"We can proceed," he whispered to himself, blue eyes wild with anticipation.

Another scientist came in the room quietly and carefully. He was holding some special liquid in some test tubes. He handed to the first scientist.

"Thank you," the first scientist said as he took some syringes and dosed it with the liquid, spilling little droplets onto the ground.

He injected the first syringe in the gray tabby and all of the liquid disappeared from the syringe and into the cat. Then he repeated the procedure on the second gray cat.

"How long will it take?" the second scientist asked.

"It will take around two to three days before the liquid will get to their brains," the first scientist answered. "We can go now, the janitor will be coming in shortly to clean up any mess."

The second scientist nodded as he followed his colleague out the door. A few minutes later, the cats on the tables began to shudder, their chests heaving spasmodically and paws twitching wildly. The cameras hidden in the lab swiveled towards the two cats, and the project began.
