The End

It's here! The final chapter! A bit late but it's here! sorry '^.^ anyways i hope you guys enjoy the last chapter of "Switched"!

Six years later

Twenty year old Isabella Garcia-Shapiro stepped out of her pink Mini Cooper and stared at the tiny white house that she had spent her childhood at.

She noticed her curtain was slightly pushed to the side and moved her eyes away. She knew exactly what was there. A telescope she had bought with three months allowance just so she could stare into the yard of the Flynn-Fletcher boys.

She didn't dare turn around. She was afraid of what would happen if she even do much as got a glimpse of the familiar white fence. Isabella flinched as waves of memories tried to get to her.

"Mija!"

Isabella suddenly forgot all about the boys and turned to face her red-faced mother.

"Mamá!"

"Oh, my little flower!" yelled her waddling mother.

Isabella let her wrap her arms around until she couldn't breathe.

"M-Mamá!" Isabella choked out.

"Oh, sorry, Mija! I'm just so excited you're back! How are you? Are you hungry? I made some piragua!..."

Isabella let her mother ramble on more as she fought the impending crash of memories.

That was the thing with Danville. It never let you forget.

It could be a good thing for memorizing facts for classes and if you wanted to remember a specific time of happiness.

But if it wasn't...the memories could haunt you forever.

For many people, Danville was a haven. Citizens of Danville didn't have a very hard life and that was because the city took care of them. They were always happy and whatever problems were easily fixed because Danville watched over them.

But for Isabella, it had done the opposite. It had the unspeakable.

Danville had broken her.

Danville let a boy break her.

Isabella felt her sanity slip from her. Her mother must've noticed the panic and immediately pulled her inside, surprising Isabella.

"Roberto! Our Mija has come home!" She yelled.

"Isabella, my sweet treat! Oh, how your Papá has missed you!"

Her dad scooped her and her mom up in an affectionate hug. Isabella smiled as her mother giggled in protest.

"We're all back together again! The Shapiro's are kicking ass again!" yelled her Papá.

"Language, Roberto! And it's also Garcia's!" Mamá shouted.

Isabella didn't realize how homesick she was. Of course, she loved her Tita René who had helped her through her therapy and the endless parties she had taken her to where she had met some amazing friends who got her doing her favorite activities again before the whole fiasco started.

She could've stayed there forever. But....Danville was her home and she knew she'd have to return sooner or later.

"So, Mija," Isabella turned to her mother with dread.
She only used that voice when she had news that she wasn't sure Isabella would like.

"Since you've finally come home after six years, your Papá and I invited all your relatives and friends to a little, um, get together!"

Isabella groaned, "Mamá..."

"Isa, all your friends and cousins are excited to see you!" Mamá exclaimed.

Isabella sighed, "Ok, fine... when is it?"

"Um...at one?" Mamá said sheepishly.

"One?!" Isabella screeched. "Mamá, that's in an hour!"

"Then you better shimmy into that new outfit your Mamá bought you," her Papá chuckled, as if it was the funniest thing he'd ever heard.

"A new outfit?" Isabella repeated.

"Oh, Isa, you'll look so beautiful! Go! Vamanos!"

Isabella trudged up the stairs before her mom could push her up.

Isabella hesitated before turning the door knob of her room.

She gasped at the brightness of it all. She forgot she had left it soaking in pure pink. Everything seemed to be pink. Her walls, curtains, even her mirror was outlined with pink fairy lights.

The only thing that didn't seem to fit in was a sky blue romper laying on her bed. She picked it up and marveled at the softness of the fabric and the subtle rhinestones lining the belt area. A sheer, long, pale pink skirt flowed out from the back and she smiled. After all, pink was still her favorite color.

Isabella put it on and slowly turned, watching the skirt follow her hips.

As she tied her hair with one of her signature bows, something shiny in her drawer caught her eye.

Isabella jerked it open. Her face drained when she saw it.

Isabella screamed and froze.

It was her love manipulation gun.

She heard her parents run up the stairs and she scrambled to lock her door.

"Mija! Is everything ok?" Her mom asked.

Isabella's breath came out shallow and ragged but she managed to yell out a quick reply. She waited until she heard them shuffle back downstairs before slowly making her way back to her drawer.

She forced herself to stand up and take a deep breath. This one little thing was not going to break years of therapy.

Her hands shook as she grabbed the gun. It wasn't much of a gun and more of a ray.

With lips quivering, she allowed her memories to flood back in.

The machine that started it all.

The switch ray

After the whole fiasco of switching with Phineas, Isabella went...

Insane

After they switched back, Isabella realized she couldn't deal with Phineas not loving her back and tried to manipulate him.

With years of experience of inventing things and a fresh set of blueprints, it should've been a breeze.

Instead, when she tried to use it to make Phineas fall in love with her, it had backfired on her and taken all her love away.

Isabella flinched at the memories and how the ray had taken over her and how she let it manipulate her because she was just so tired of everything.

She loved Phineas but she so tired of how she let him take over her life and how she let him determine her mood, her interests, and her time.

Isabella felt herself spiraling into a slow sadness and she fell back in her bed, letting her fluffy blankets consume her.

Her nose tingled as water welled in her eyes. She shot up and immediately wiped them away.

It was her first day back and no way was she gonna stress about her ginger crush any longer.

Isabella wiped Phineas from her mind and focused on the things she was excited to see again as she applied her make up.

The doorbell rang and Isabella peeled through her window to see who it was.

She let out an excited squeal when she saw her old Fireside troop and slid down the banister, cutting off her mom as she opened the door.

"Isabella!" They shrieked and surrounded her in a tight group hug.

"I missed you guys!" Isabella beamed.

"Oh, Chief! Troop 46231 hasn't been the same without you!" Gretchen sobbed, clinging onto Isabella's legs.

"Gretch is right. We missed ya, Chief," Addyson smirked as she gave Isabella a gentle noogie.

"O. M. G! Isabella, there's been so much happening!" Ginger screamed, bursting their eardrums.

"G-Ginger, I texted you this morning...?" Isabella said.

Ginger shrugged, "Yea but it's different in person."

"I can't believe you wouldn't let us visit you!" Milly whined.

"Sorry girls, I just didn't think I was ready considering most of our activities consisted of helping P-...um, you know..."

It got quiet as Isabella stared at the floor and the girls tried to grab at any clue on what to do.

"Who wants tiny cylinder pork wrapped in bread!"

Mrs. Garcia-Shapiro came from the kitchen holding a tray of snacks.

"Pigs-in-blankets!" Holly yelled.

The tension disappeared as they scrambled to grab the mini snacks.

"Let's go see your old room, Isa!" Ginger suggested after she had swallowed the most pigs-in-blankets.

"I bet it's still soaking of pink," Addyson laughed.

"I'm still hungry..." Milly whispered as they clamored up the stairs.

Isabella slipped her a mint before they followed the others.

The girls awed at Isabella's room, cooing at old memories and laughing at pictures of their younger selves. Isabella smiled, suddenly seeing her memories as a happy thing.

"Is this the telescope you used to spy on-aHHHHH"

Addyson screeched as the other girls dog piled on her.

"Shut. uP Addyson!" Ginger hissed.

They all looked at Isabella who's smile seemed to be a bit forced now.

Isabella took a deep breath and sighed.

"It's fine, guys. I've let Phineas control how I feel for way too long. Besides, I'm over him and hopefully we can go back to just being friends."

The girls smiled softly and caught her in another group hug.

"Oh, Isabella! We're so proud of you!" Ginger beamed.

"Why didn't you take our advice years ago-oW!" Addyson yelped as Gretchen elbowed her side.

Isabella laughed, "Thanks, guys, I-"

The doorbell rang and Isabella stopped.

"Hi, Mrs. Garcia-Shapiro!"

It was him.

"Oh, Phineas! It's good to see you! How are you?"

"I'm fine. Is Isabella here?"

Time slowed down and Isabella couldn't hear anyone. All she could hear was Phineas saying her name. She hadn't heard from him for six years.

She could feel her heart breaking again and she clutched her chest, her eyes shut so tight they hurt but she couldn't seem to drown out his voice.

Suddenly, she could breath again and she opened her eyes to feel Ginger tightening her grip on Isabella.

Isabella glanced around at the girls who were fearful that they would lose her again and she exhaled a breath she had been holding.

She laughed.

They opened their eyes to watch as she laughed.

She laughed so loudly and so long that she began to cry.

She was mad at herself for hurting the people closest to her because she hated that a boy didn't feel the same way about her. She had missed out on so much because she put her happiness on this one boy.

Now she realized, it was time to stop.

She wiped her tears and smiled a bright, happy, genuine smile.

"I'm ready."

Isabella wiped away her tears and pulled open her door.

The girls shrugged and trailed after her as she walked down the stairs like the bitch boss she was.

Isabella smiled as she entered the room. She could feel everyones' nervous tension as they wondered what would happen but she didn't care.

All eyes were on her and Phineas as the two locked eyes.

"I...Isabella...you look...wow..."

Phineas regained his composure and smiled.

"Isabella, it's really great to see you!"

He moved in for a hug and she pulled him in.

She sighed a small breath of relief when she didn't feel a sense of longing or over thinking of anything.

It just felt like the hug of a friend she had lost but had found once again.

"Hey, Phineas, it's great to see you, too."

Everyone let out a sigh and Isabella laughed.

She pulled away and really took a good look at the boy she had loved.

He had grown up and was a bit lanky but with more muscles for sure. He still had that same school boy sense of style though which made Isabella a bit more sad that she had also missed growing up with her best friend.

Before she could get in more words, her extended family began to pour in and they couldn't do anything but watch as they separated once again.

After a few hours of dancing and singing wild karaoke and reminiscing in her mother's cooking, Isabella was able to get away and leave the party.

She took a breath of fresh air before sitting on the steps of her porch.

She felt lighter and happier than she ever had in ages and she was ok with it all.

She heard the door behind her open and close and waited.

As she has suspected, Phineas sat next to her and stared at the stars.

A few minutes passed. Neither one knew what to say.

Finally, never being the one to be perfectly still or silent for too long, Phineas glances over at her.

"I missed you, Izzy."

Isabella looked over at him and grinned, "I missed you, too, Phineas."

"So how was, um, staying with your Aunt in SwampCity?"

"It was good. I liked it there. She really helped me through some things. I might move there one day."

"Oh..."

"Yea, and there was a bunch of friends I left behind and-"

"I'm still in love with you."

Isabella stopped as she jerked her head to look at him.

"What-"

"I never stopped thinking about you. About us. About what happened. About what could have been. I've thought about it all. I'm sorry, I know this is probably a difficult thing for us to talk about so quickly and without warning and I've just been obsessing about it all ever since you mysteriously left and I just-"

"Phineas."

Phineas looked over at Isabella and she noticed the river of tears. She blinked in surprise but then smiled sadly.

Slowly, she inched her hand towards his. With a bit of hesitance that she quickly shook away, she confidently grabbed his hand and stared back at the night sky.

She could hear Phineas wiping away his tears. He tried to leave her grip but she just tightened it.

"I'm sorry, Izzy, I was gonna try and convince you to take me back but I guess I'm just not that cool anymore."

Isabella giggled, "Are you kidding? You're the coolest guy I know."

Isabella glanced over and saw Phineas break into a small smile.

"I'm sorry I left."

"No, it's...I get why. Honestly, I was gonna leave because I thought I couldn't stand not seeing you but I wanted to be a better guy so I could prove that I love you."

"You did. And I'm ready to take some risks...as long as we do them together..."

Phineas stared at her in shock but wrapped her in his arms.

"Everything I do, we do together."

"Even if we switch bodies again?" Isabella smirked.

Phineas pulled back to stare at her with happy tears. He pressed his forehead to hers and Isabella could smell the key lime pie on his breath as he whispered, "Through everything", before catching her lips in a kiss.
