Chapter 5 - Traitorous heart
Hazel's POV
I waved my hand, greeting Celeste as I walked into the café. Finally, we had time to celebrate her new job. She started working in our family company a few weeks ago.
After greeting her with a hug, I ordered a cup of latte and the almond biscotti.
"So... how was your first encounter with your nemesis?" I asked mischievously as the waitress
brought my order and left Celeste and me alone.
"Fortunately, I haven't seen him yet. I hope not to see him at all." My friend replied and rolled her eyes. "I have already enough problems. I am not in mood to fight with your brother." She added, depressed and sighed, ruffling her hair.
"What happened, Celeste? I noticed you have become different since your Vegas vacation." I
commented worriedly.
Celeste heaved a loud sigh. "What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas...At least, I hoped. But a crazy night turned my life upside down." She replied sadly and pursed her lips together.
"What happened there, Celly?" I asked, concerned and rested my hand on her forearm.
She bit her lower lip as sadness crossed her features. "I don't want to talk about it right now. Maybe later." She gave me an apologetic look.
"But..."
"Really, Haze. I don't feel ready to talk about it. I promise I will tell you later." My friend squeezed my hand which was resting on her forearm.
I nodded, sighing. "But if you need anything, I am ready to help you, Celly."
She gave me a grateful smile and nodded. "Thank you, Haze." She heaved a sigh and asked softly. "So... How is it going between you and your boyfriend?"
I grinned sheepishly. "I think I fell in love." I confessed honestly.
"Oh my gosh! I am so happy for you!" She said happily, squeezing my hand.
Kayden's POV
I was sipping my whiskey at the nightclub, Stardust, while waiting for my best friend, Liam Anderson, to finish talking on the phone.
He was a well-known international model. We had known each other since childhood. Our families were relatives. His aunt, Elva Anderson, was married to my uncle, David Matthews.
"Sorry, there are some changes regarding my next photoshoot. My agent called to inform me." Liam said as he sat down beside me.
"No problem."
"Well... you were talking about Hazel. When do you plan to end it? You have been dating her more than a month." He asked curiously and sipped his drink.
I bit my lower lip, averting my gaze, and finished my whiskey in a sip. Then I ordered another glass of whiskey for myself and looked at my friend without saying anything while he was looking at me, puzzled.
"You know you can't fall in love with her as Jayden or as Kayden." He commented, looking at me suspiciously.
I heaved a loud sigh and ran my hand through my hair. "Yes, I know... But... Despite the fact I remind this to myself every day, I..." I breathed deeply, shaking my head. "I can't let her beat me at my own game, but... I can't get Hazel out of my mind."
"Kade... It would make things difficult." Liam commented worriedly.
"I know. I fucking know it." I exhaled loudly and took a sip from my whiskey.
"What do you plan to do now?" Liam asked, concerned.
"I don't know." I replied honestly, rubbing my forehead. "Besides, I don't think I have another
choice. I have to carry on the plan. I promised Jay." I added and sighed sadly.
"I think you should stop this game." Liam stated firmly.
"I can't. I promised Jay." I shook my head and sipped my whiskey absently.
"Then get your ass in gear. Start the second part. Make her dump you... Jayden." My best friend suggested hopefully.
I bit my lower lip, thinking. Was I ready for it? If I made Hazel dump Jayden, I wouldn't see her again. Her beautiful smile, her mesmerizing eyes, her angelic voice and so on. Could I bear it while I missed her if I didn't see her every day?
"No." I refused, shaking my head. "I will carry on this plan as I and Jay planned." I stated, determined.
"Kade... You are making a big mistake. In the end, it won't be just Hazel who would be heartbroken. You would be too." Liam commented worriedly, looking me in the eyes.
"Liam, don't talk like I fell head over heels for Hazel." I scowled. "I can control myself."
"Kade..." My friend gave me an unconvinced look. "I know you very well, dude. I can feel little hearts slowly appearing in your eyes. That girl managed the most difficult thing. She is penetrating your heart discreetly as much as you deny it." He added confidently and gave me a knowing look.
I rolled my eyes. "Don't talk nonsense! I never fall in love." I stated firmly. Liam smirked, shaking his head while looking unconvinced. I frowned, annoyed and sipped my whiskey, ignoring my friend who was still smirking.

I was having dinner with Liam when I saw my brother walking into the restaurant with a woman.
She looked eccentric in her long purple dress with spaghetti straps which matched her purple balayage highlights.
Even though they held each other's hands, the girl was resting her other hand on his arm, holding
him against herself closely. It felt like if she let him, he would run away. However, she was mistaken because I could feel from my brother's gaze that he was smitten by her.
So... Jay really has a girlfriend.
I was right, but why didn't he introduce her to us?
"Where are you looking at?" Liam asked, interrupting my thoughts, and turned around.
"Oh..."
My friend mumbled as he saw Jayden and his girlfriend. "You didn't tell me Jayden has a girlfriend." Liam commented as he turned towards me.
"I didn't know. I was suspicious about it when Jay asked me to help him, but when I asked him, he denied." I confessed honestly and looked at my brother and his girlfriend curiously while they were ordering something to eat, sitting far away from our table.
After dinner, I went to visit Hazel in their mansion secretly. Fortunately, her bedroom was on the first floor; so I managed to walk in using the sliding door, which was opening to the background garden, without drawing unwanted attention.
As soon as I closed the door and pulled the curtains, I claimed her inviting lips, wrapping my arms around her waist tightly, pulling her closer to me.
"I missed you." I confessed sincerely and cupped her cheek as I pulled back slightly, still holding her in my arms.
"You are crazy. If someone sees..."
I placed my finger on her lips, silencing her. "No one saw me coming here. I was careful."
She sighed and gave me a tender smile. "I missed you too."
"Oh, really?" Show me then." I asked seductively, caressing her lower lip.
"Jay!" She gave me a shy smile.
"Then I will show you how much I missed you." I stated huskily and smashed my lips against her lips, kissing her passionately.
In a swift movement, I picked her up without separating our lips. She wrapped her legs around
my waist while I carried her towards the bed.
***
When I arrived home the following morning, I saw Jayden coming out of his bedroom.
"Where have you been?" He asked, giving me a questioning look as he noticed me.
"With Liam." I lied, running my hand through my hair. I couldn't tell him that I spent the night with Hazel in her bedroom because he would lecture me. He warned me not to get intimate with her. Especially, this much. So if he knew about it, he would freak out.
"All night?" He asked suspiciously, raising his eyebrow.
