Part 1
CHAPTER 1
I woke up from what seemed like a long sleep and my eyes took a while to adjust. I saw something huge and green and my brain was unbelievably slow in processing what I was staring into. I tried to jump back in fear as I realized the big huge round things were eyes and they were staring at me. I couldn't even jump like I wanted to, it was more of pulling myself back. What was happening to me!!
I let out a loud piercing scream and realized I sounded like a child! I screamed out loud again and the head that housed the huge eyes frowned in surprise.
"Welcome home Terruius," she said in a language that didn't sound familiar. How I was able to understand it, I had no idea.
"Who the fuck was Terruius? And this certainly wasn't home! I only remember driving my garage out of my home and then there was an accident, my car fell over a bridge and I blacked out.
These certainly weren't angels. Then I tried to remember the name of my wife and it became very blurry, I couldn't even remember the name of my daughter. I screamed again jumped up in fear knocking down the creature in the process.
Only for me to realize that I now looked like the creature!! I looked at my hands and they looked normal except they were green, like something grew on them!
I ran out in frenzy and realized I had wings that helped me move faster. I flew towards what looked like an ocean to me from afar. I just needed to fall into the water again right, then I'll wake up from all this madness. Worse still, I was forgetting everything fast. I tried to claw on the straws of my last memories as I divulged into the water
"Terruius! That's against our boundary. You shouldn't be found there!" I heard a shrill piercing voice call out but I was in deep in the ocean already. I can't wait to go back home, where was home anyways? I couldn't remember anymore. I only remembered that I had a mortgage to pay on the car I crashed.
Then it hit me! I was supposed to be drowning but I wasn't. More like I was breathing in the water. Alas! I wasn't even breathing!
I flapped my new set of wings out of the water and tried to cry. I was fast forgetting all the memories I had as a human and now I was something else I didn't even know. I didn't have my thick voice I was very proud of it anymore. I looked at my reflection in the water, I looked like I was just 18. What ate up my remaining 32 years? I sighed in frustration and sat by the water.
I was tired of asking rhetorical questions, I needed to get to the person that I saw when I woke up. She looked like she was feminine, I need answers. But what was that about the boundaries she said earlier?
"A fairy of fire?" A feminine voice boomed behind me and I shivered at how close it was.
"What in the stars are you doing here? Have you missed your way? Are you not aware of the boundaries?" She said in a language I haven't heard before either but my brain processed what she said. Even my brain was different now?
"I .. I don't understand you," I said in a language that surprised me. I couldn't remember learning this language. I felt like I swallowed a software for translation. This might have seemed cool in the right circumstances but not here. I was freaking out.
This creature in front of me had the same skin color I did but her eyes were milky, almost white. She had just dots for pupils. I was supposed to find her eyes very scary but I found myself admiring it. They looked very beautiful to me.
Well, I wasn't normal right now so I could forgive my thoughts and feelings that were not normal too.
She flapped her wings and came closer to where I was. "You don't understand what!" She screamed like she was angry and I jumped in fear. I wasn't expecting that reaction, why was she angry?
"I'm new here," I said with a hint of fear in my voice. That was the only thing that sounded plausible to say at that moment.
"What do you mean new here?" She asked and now settle on her feet inches away from where I stood.
I couldn't help but notice that her wings were transparent, almost like water. Whereas mine was fiery red, almost like burning embers.
"You didn't know you were not supposed to be here?" She asked again when I couldn't create any coherent sentences.
"I don't know what happened. I just met myself here some minutes ago" I tried to explain as I was skeptical she was ready to help me in any way. She looked furious that I was here even.
"What are you called?" She asked in a voice that I would have appreciated if it were loud. It was icy and chilling and i felt a gust of cold air hit me.
I tried to search my memory to remember my real name but it seemed very far and blurry. I didn't even remember my name. I became scared.
I looked at her face and if I was scared before, it became worse. She was running out of patience and her pupils were becoming more visible and bigger.
"I'm Terruius," I said and winced inwardly at the mention of a name I just acknowledged to be mine.
"Now, Terruius! You won't come here again! Ever! You are a fairy of fire and water is never found beside the fire. So, get lost!" She screamed as I felt a whoosh of air flip me and I hit my head again.
I hope I don't wake up with a split head this time around. I surrendered to the darkness that welcomed me.
