How Rontao gained his horde

Just a little Yokai Watch thing. Nothing too bad.

"It's that day again, huh?" A man asked
"Yep. Gods I hate when it comes... But we have to in order for that demon to not destroy us..." Another man responded.
"Yet why do people still go missing on Mount Wildwood?" Another asked.
"That's hard to say." A woman said as a man walked onto a tall platform.
"Attention everyone." He said. "It is an honor to be with all of you on this fine day, no matter what the occasion, but you all know why we're here. You all know that if we don't offer a sacrifice, that thing in Mount Wildwood will kill us all. Thankfully it doesn't want or like a blood sacrifice. So let us give our offerings." People started to place various sweets and toys into the giant basket, with a young boy offering up one of his toy cars. Then, a girl with dark brown hair a box of cookies with a note attached to it into the basket before quickly running off. After all the goodies/ offerings had been collected, the basked was handed to a monk to take to the shrine up at Mount Wildwood.

That night, after everyone had went to sleep, a shadow came down from the mountain, grabbing the basket and quickly going back into the warmth of the mountain. When the coast was clear, Rontao lifted the hood off of his head and started to go through the basket. He has received the normal candy apples, taffy, Chocobars and small toys, but something intrigued him. Attached to one of his boxes of cookies was a note.

To the demon of Mount Wildwood, there's something I'd like to ask of you. If you ever find a doll with brown hair that goes to his shoulder and green buttons for eyes, take care of him for me. My parents threw him out because they thought a demon got to him. He's my best friend and I still miss him. He especially likes getting his hair brushed even though it's already neat.  ~ Ari
Rontao knew who's handwriting that was. That was Ari-chan's, he knew it, as it had her signature doodles all over the paper and the end of her name was always unreadable. It was such a relief to know that she still cared about him, but he was still bitter. He had been thrown out by those horrid people, and he couldn't even imagine how she reacted when she got home to only find out her best friend had been taken out of the picture. She probably had the energy to look through the garbage that same day, to only find that he was gone. He wanted to go down and hug her but at that point all he could do was sit, cry and remember the past
