"Online friends?"

"Hmm."

"From four years?"

"Yep."

"And you didn't know he was a prince until few months ago?"

"Exactly."

"In that case, he knew about Elias's treason from a long time back?"

"More or less."

"You were already planning to take down Elias along with the now Alpha King?"

"Not really. The whole thing just turned out this way on its own. No matter how cruel Elias was, Senan was still loyal to his King; until I told him about Elias having Rowan's blood on his hands. He started digging about Elias from thereafter. After all killing one's innocent mate is a serious crime."

Christopher Fuller, Elder Cazacu, Elder Mathews, Elder Sylvester and the royal beta have their mouth hung down.

"I'm stuck Alpha. You got yourself a rogue friend when your parents were killed by the same kind." Elder Mathews, the snobbish yet a just Elder of the pack spoke out his doubt without any filters.

"A bunch of rogues killed them but another rogue saved me. Also, Veira is a darling, rogue or not." He shrugged coming over to where I sat and attempted to steal strawberries from my bowl.

You can steal money.

You can steal jewelry.

You can steal anything but you shouldn't steal food from a girl.

I pulled away the bowl making sure he doesn't get any of them. He raised a brow at me and frowned as he tried to take one again but to no avail.

"I'll take it back. You are no darling but a cruel monster." Senan grumbled going back to sit where he was before.

"Thank you."

"Let me get this straight; few years ago in a rogue attack, she seemed to pass by that area and saved the young prince without knowing his identity. You both then proceeded to continue your friendship through online sources and only recently did she find out that the virtual friend of hers is a prince. You both then found out more atrocities done by Elias and decided to join hands to take him down." Fuller summarized everything to which Senan nodded.

"You can say that Dr. Cazacu is a variable we did not expect." Hearing Senan, the quiet elder Cazacu stared blankly at me and Senan.

"Then what about my professor?" Elder Cazacu asked after keeping silent for a long time.

"When Fuller was drugging all the men in Elias army, my spy found out the location of your professor. Guess where he was locked up." Senan posed which is answered by none.

"There is a secret compartment the goes down beneath the graves of Elias's parents and none knows about it. Your professor was locked up there. Tell me, who would have thought to dig the previous King and Queen's graves and commit a crime just to satisfy their curiosity? Elias took this as an advantage."

Not bad! But digging his own parents graves is a little too ruthless.

"True." Came in unison.

"Alright then, now that the whole thing is over, I should go back to my life." I announced, stretching my hands above my head.

"I should take my professor and leave as well. I left all the work back. I need to thank you all for saving my professor and playing along with my plans." Elder Cazacu stood up as he stole a glance at me.

"Are you sure you really don't want to be a part of the pack, Veira?" Senan asked, this time seriously in his Alpha tone.

I can sense the worry right there. That man is a type of friend everyone should definitely have.

"Nay. I would've accepted if it was a few years ago but now, after everything that happened, I'm happy living my life freely as a rogue. You just don't forget our agreement about keeping the innocent rogues safe and sound and that includes me as well."

"Alright. But if one day you decide to join a pack, then no pack will accept you except for the royal pack. I will pass the orders on a serious note."

"Noted." I replied back brushing off the arrogance of his Alpha tone.

He can be an Alpha king with a big bad wolf but I don't care!

I stood up to leave after passing on my greetings to everyone present there when Senan stopped me and Elder Cazacu.

"What are you going to do about this one, then?" Senan asked pointing towards Elder Cazacu, who in return glowered at Senan.

"With due respect, Alpha, that's our family issue." My so called mate replied back haughtily as if challenging him.

"You focus on finding your own mate, man. I'll take care of this one." I said without even looking at Cazacu.

With my final greetings and a hug with Senan, I left the royal pack followed by Cazacu and his professor who is still unconscious.

After one whole day of travelling, we finally reached his villa and were greeted warmly by aunt Veira, his pet dog. His professor was admitted in the hospital in an intensive care under private treatment course.

Hah, looking at the mansion in front me standing tall and strong, I used to call it home for a few times in the past but now, the mansion feels cold.

Aunt Veira's welcome warmed me up though. I hugged her and went on into my room to complete the task I need to do.

Packing up and leave.

Elder Cazacu, all through the time we traveled together, tried to talk to me several time but I did not even give him my heed not even once. Now that I'm packing my things, he kept loitering in from of the open door trying to catch my attention.

"Are you really leaving me?" I heard him ask. Turning back, I saw him leaning against the door frame, blocking the way out.

"When are we ever together to leave you?" I reprimanded in a cool manner.

"Veira, I –" He started and paused as he inhaled deeply for a couple times. "Don't you want an explanation from me? Don't you want to know my side of the story."

"Frankly speaking, I do but then I realized, I'm not even that interested in it." I said curtly.

"I'm sorry I kept many things from you but I'm not sorry for what I did. At least give me a chance to clear things between us."

"And?"

"And?"

"After you clear up things, what do you plan to do then?"

"Veira, I'm you mate –"

"Ah, right, there is also this one that kept on taunting me. I was trying to make up my mind and reveal my identity to you while all along you knew what I am and who I am to you."

"Veira! I know you are hurt by me."

"You are not that important to me, sire." I said calmly.

"You are lying."

"No I'm not."

"Your eye winks whenever you tell a truth, Veira. You did not wink which means I mean a lot to you."

I laughed out in surprise when he voiced out my weakness. He knew. He knew my eye flutters continuously whenever I tell a truth.

So all along, he could he easily tell where I was lying to him and when I was being sincere.

Great! This is just getting better.

"Okay, I will tell you my side of the story first and if you still want to leave me after hearing it, I won't stop you." He bargained giving me an expression that is both domineering and pitiful at the same time.

I stood there for a minute and pondered over before gave him a look saying better-be-quick. We walked to the backyard where a swing and a tea table with chairs are. I sat on the swing while he took the chair right in front of me.

"I'm sitting here to hear you out with no expectations in return from you. So you can choose to say the truth or not, it is your wish."

"No I will tell you the truth and truth only." He promised as he wetted his dry lips, hesitating where to start from.

"Let me start from the beginning." He said, inhaling deeply again.

"No, first clarify something me before you start. From when did you know you are my mate?" I stopped him wanting to have the answer to this one first.

I'm dying to know how and when did he find out about our bond. My patience towards listening to him depends on his answer to this question.

"You knew it from the first time we shook hands, didn't you." I asked reminiscing over the days when I and Dea tried to touch him in order to find out the reason behind irregular sparks between us.

If he knows about the werewolf traditions by then, then that must be the time he got the clue of it.

"No. I- " No?

"Why did you think I offered Elias to take care of you under my watch?" He asked as an anonymous feeling started knowing me.

"Huh?"

"I knew you and I are mates even before you came to know. Precisely, I know you from half year before you tried to swindle my name and company."

I'm sorry?

'What? How - ?'

I – what nonsense?
