Veira Point of View

"You must be kidding me, Alpha." I started when I heard them planning my death in front of me.

Seeing them, I suddenly felt so proud to be a rogue. At least we rogues do not go around and judge everyone we stumble upon.

The Alpha growled at me when he did not like the tone I spoke to him. The other two followed him and growled at me proving me again that they are a herd of blind goats.

"Mind it. Don't make us kill you slowly and painfully." The Alpha, whatever his name is, grumbled angrily.

'So hot!' And, ladies, gentlemen and wolfmen, Dea did not seem to understand and learn the situation yet.

That was enough hint for me to take the charge myself and get us out of this situation. If I leave it top Dea, she would happily die in the hands of the man she is attracted to.

"Are you sure you want to kill me, Alpha?" I asked with a hint of mystery in my tone. Physically, I'm no match to hundreds of pack members so my weapon is my intelligence.

The Beta closed into me and intimidated me with his height. But if there is something I learnt from growing up alone in wilderness then it is to be fearless.

But challenging them would send me into a coffin directly so I would use the second thing I learnt from my life.

Acting!

I took a couple steps back pretending to be scared of them. "Why would we not dare to hurt you, a worthless rogue?" The Elder spoke in a discerning tone.

That hit me hard.

Worthless!

"Who are you calling worthless, sire. I don't know about the worth of your life but I'm worth billions. You would want to mind your language when speaking to me because Elder or not, I would not spare anyone who judge my worth based on the rotten prejudice you stocked up there in your mind." It was alright when they were talking about killing me but who the hell are they to calculate my worth.

Those useless men who knew nothing but the blind rules!

The Elder was successfully infuriated by my words as he strode towards me to hold me by my neck but I was quick enough to slip before he could hold my neck.

"You worthless- " He started while charging at me but I slapped his arm away from and kicked him in the place where his sun already left the universe.

"Eh uh, not that again! If I were you, I would be calm enough to know the reason for my confidence. Now, before I'm interrupted again, why don't you ponder over my past statements clearly?" I said as I took the elder down and threw a warning glare towards the other two.

I might be the sanest between me and my wolf but you wouldn't want to anger me. I might be calm and composed from outside but that doesn't mean I'm not Dea who choose Beauty over duty.

'Hey, why are you insulting me in this?' Dea, who was silent until now butted in again. With one mental hit on her head, she went back to her silence again.

"Why would we not dare to kill you?" Asked the Alpha who seemed to gather his senses finally.

"Would you like to get exposed to the humankind by doing so?" While the Elder and Beta were openly scowling at me, the Alpha only but narrowed his eyes at me for further explanation.

"I'm a public figure, if you don't know. I might be a rogue in our community but in the human world, I am person with great influence and wealth. Harming me would get you right under the surveillance of people. "

The reaction I got from them; Beta laughed out loudly, Elder snickered mockingly and the Alpha scoffed.

"How old are you? You say you own billion dollar companies? Are we looking that foolish to you?" To this, I snickered and shrugged at them leaving the decision and conclusion to them.

"Elder Edgar, check up with the information first." The Alpha ordered and the Elder immediately complied to check up with the information I gave him.

We stayed silent for nearly fifteen minutes when the Elder went out to check the information I gave. A few minutes later, he came back as he hung the call and smirked at me.

"Alpha," The Elder shook his head and the Alpha instantly growled loudly at me and advanced towards me in anger.

"Are you sure you checked the details right, Elder?" I asked giving my best cool stance.

"Veira Dea Lupus, twenty one years old, has a small firm that provides A to Z services the local residents." Elder read out as his smirk grew wide.

"You have a useless team to get the information."

"What do you mean? Are the details wrong?"

"Not really but they aren't complete."

'Uh, Veira, what more is there about us? Wasn't that complete?' Just when I'm close to escaping them, she had to put forth her opinion again.

'Shut up and wait until I get us out of here.' I grumbled at her fiercely.

"Did your team tell you how I am related to VIBE Incorporation?" I asked posing smugly at him.

"VIBE? How can you be related to one of the largest companies in Europe? What are we in your eyes?" It was again the Elder who mocked me.

I took slow steps towards him, looked dead into his eyes, hands on my hips and smile on my face, I spoke. "The owner and the managing director of the companies is none other than the person you have been calling worthless every given chance."

All the three men exchanged looks and by the looked of their glazed eyes, they are mind linking among themselves. Once their discussion is over, the Elder went out to confirm my say again.

Few minutes later, he came back with a suspicious glare directed towards me. "It is true that the Managing Director of the group is pretty young and known to be one of the most influential people in the world but no one knows how that person looks. The owner is well hidden, even from the board of directors, while running the company from the shadows successfully."

"If she is really that person, then we cannot mess with her, Alpha." The Beta continued to put his input in the matter.

"How are we to know you are that person? After all none knew what the chairperson looked like." Alpha questioned back.

"This is purely internal information and only very few directors in charge knew about it. There is this new virus we are working on to cure tumors without going for surgery. I signed the papers yesterday evening. Why don't you ask your informers about this?"

"My nephew is working in VIBE Pharma, I'll call him and ask." Elder called the person right in front of and put the call on speaker.

He went directly to the point and the person on the other side answered, "That is confidential information, Uncle Edgar, how did you know about it? The Managing Director approved for the research just yesterday. Even I came to know about it an hour ago." Hearing him, I shrugged at the three men.

Elder ended the call and after a lengthy discussion, they let me go with a warning that I shouldn't step into their territory ever again.

I am out of that hell, finally!

Trip back to my condo was a lengthy one but a pleasant one nonetheless. The first thing I did after getting back was to take a long hot bath and eat some food.

Lying back in my warm soft bed, I sighed in relief with a ever present smile on my lips.

Fudge everything; food and bed are the most luxurious things a person can ever get.

'Not only did you separate me from my mate, you also lied to them.' Dea huffed.

Is she really not happy about saving his butt from the bloody pack?

'He is not our mate and yes I lied. If I haven't lied, you would be dead already.'

'But how do you know so much about VIBE companies? I haven't even heard that name before.'

'Last night a group of four talked about it in the pub. They sat in the private room and were talking about it. I suddenly remembered it and baited the wolves. Luckily, the information worked perfectly for us and they fell for it.'

'Of course, if I'm the goddess of beauty, you are the Goddess of deception. None can use words they heard to their will like you.'

'Thank you.'

'But I'm still not happy about being away from my hot mate.'

'Not again Dea. Are you going to be like this every time you see a person you like? Did you forget how you almost sent me to the death bed the first time you claimed a boy to be your mate?'

'But he was deadly gorgeous.'

'So you took the liberty to put me on the death bed by forcing the sparks between us and the boy?'

I still cannot forget the day it happened. I was fifteen at that time and there was this boy in our school that Dea decided would look great beside us.

She said he was our mate and use her energy to force sparks between us. Thanks to her I was in come for twenty seven days and hardly survived.

'This was your twelfth time to claim someone as your mate. Goddess should stop producing handsome men for my own health or else you are going to send me to the Goddess even before we meet our real mate.'

'I only accept a man who can compete and share the same level beauty as me. Don't forget that my beauty is only second to the Moon Goddess herself.'
