Chapter 2
Veira Point of View
If Scissorhands were to dance in a pub, then it would look exactly how I dance right now.
Gosh, this is embarrassing!
I was only being happy about the raise in my wealth and wanted to enjoy a little in pub. Is that wrong?
My damn wolf yet again took over my body and is dancing in the center of the platform as if she is having seizures.
With both my hands and fingers in the shape of scissors, she kept on making me cut God knows what. She is banging my head up and down which never went according to the beat and my legs, she is literally making me perform a crab version of moon dance.
Goddess!
The people around has stopped for a while and gathered around to enjoy the talent show my wolf is making me do.
Those claps, those whistles, those hollers and those hoots; they are nothing but silver needles digging into my skin.
I'm Veira, a swindler by day and a double swindler by night. I dealt with many things in my life using my quick wits and sweet words.
But Dea, she is a problem I have no solution for.
Putting all my will power into it, I finally took charge over my body and pushed Dea behind into my mind's cellar. She needs to get her act straight before taking over my body.
Dammit!
The way everyone is looking at me with utmost mirth and grand respect, I died virgin.
Rest in peace Veira! May you be human or an animal in your next life but not a half of each.
May Dea be blessed with a conscious one like hers and may she suffer endlessly from herself.
'Hey, that wasn't such a bad dance. Those moves came from my inherent swag.'
And the devil broke out of cellar!
'We aren't unfamiliar to people like before. We are owners of out little company. We have to maintain our decorum no matter how much of a ghost company it is.' I tried to explain her how we are reasonably wealthy and recognizable now and how we have to maintain our grace and class.
While I continued to take a one on one session to Dea, I ordered a strong drink. A drink that can knock the moonlight out of her!
With my heightened senses, I could hear everything people are talking from every corners of the club.
While Dea has heightened senses, I have a very sensitive hearing making the whole skill amplified to new extent.
I heard a bunch of girls and boys from far away who are boasting about the number of girlfriends and boyfriends they cheated on.
Then there were a couple of older men talking about their illegal dealings. Similarly, there were many conversations that made their way to my ears.
Having no friends, pub is a good place to enjoy when you are unintentionally being nosy.
'Hey.' I did not reply her back whilst I'm enjoying my drink a little too much.
'Veira, you decomposed skull!'
'What is it? Can't a girl enjoy her drink?' I'm already a little drunk by the way I replied her back. Drunk enough to see Dea in front of my eyes completely as another entity.
'Get your senses straight, you fool! A were with a higher rank is around; much closer than I appreciate. We need to leave now.'
'Oh!' I responded back taking another swig of my lovely alcohol. 'I feel like I'm on moon goddess.'
'You can already feel Goddess taking back our soul? If you don't wake up right now, then I swear on my lemon and honey face pack that I will be your human and you will be my wolf in the next life.'
I wasn't given enough time to laugh over her words and retort her back when something hard hit my head and the lights of my moon went off in my head.
~*~*~*~
My head felt heavy.
I'm nauseous. I only felt this great urge to puke when Dea mixed all sorts of crazy stuff in the name of skin care for body and tumbled in that pit for two days straight.
My head feels like it was mutated into Dea. Simply burdened and aching.
After groaning for a few times, I finally opened my eyes slowly. A chill went through my spine and I finally realized that I'm not in the warm comfort of my bed. The chilling cold from the floor ached my already aching body.
Taking my time, I rubbed my eyes and finally looked around the place only to find myself locked up in a cellar. I closed my eyes and massaged my head for few moments until the pain reduced to some extent and the recollection of my memories from the pub drove slowly.
I'm not a fool; I need no confirmation that I was currently imprisoned in a pack's dungeons. It was dimly lit and there was no window in my range of vision.
A plethora of werewolf smells entered my nose. I knocked on Dea's door in my mind but she did not open it.
'Dea. Dea? Where are you, you beauty terrorist?' I tried to find her but I couldn't find her in my consciousness.
Is she dead?
I'm not that lucky though. I can still feel her energy inside me which only means she is dead asleep somewhere.
Just when I need her!
Heaving to myself, I shrugged thinking I'm on my own in getting out of here. As far as I remember, I was drinking in the pub and it all went blank from there.
The pack must had found me in the pub and imprisoned me. So, which pack is this?
"Harmless rogues like me are still suffering from pack's insecurities." I told myself and waited for their leader to come.
I did not have to wait long because I only had to spend one hour in meditating before I got disturbed by three men. It was not bright enough to see their faces clearly but I can see that among them are two young men and one old, all the three entered the cell I'm kept in. I only bowed them curtly and narrowed my eyes at them.
They reciprocated with a dark scowl directed towards me, thanks to my werewolf vision. If they though that would scare me, then they didn't know me at all; which means they just caught a stranger rogue.
Alright then, let's test the waters first.
"Who are you?" That must the beta who asked me.
"You don't even know me but you still imprisoned me?" I asked back without being neither polite nor rude.
Are the packs so free to just catch unsuspecting rogue werewolf?
"Hey rogue, mind it!" Beta growled as he took a threatening step towards me.
Come on now, you caught me with no good reason and you also want me to behave well? Are you not ashamed of your unrealistic expectations?
Observing the older man among the three, I realized he must be the elder of the pack who is responsible for advising in the pack. So the remaining one should be the Alpha.
"Why am I brought here?" I asked making sure to be wise and not rile up any of them.
Physically they are stronger than me and outnumber me by hundreds so I can only depend on my well fermented pickle of tasty wits.
With my skills, can I take down all the three silently and escape them? Farfetched idea but I can put it in the options.
"What are you doing in the city?" It's again the beta who spoke.
The Alpha just stood like a statue not even moving an inch. I doubt if he has already become an icicle given the low temperature of the cellar.
"Partying. It's a pub, sire. I danced and drank."
"What I mean is, what is a rogue like you doing near our territory." The beta asked again.
"Your territory?" I asked and then realization made its way just as my wolf started to appear slowly. "This must be 'Night rots' pack."
"Night rules." The beta corrected me with a growl while it took a toll on me to conceal my grin.
Grrr, alright rule the rots then!
"Right. I was near your territory, not inside it. So, you cannot imprison me here." The three men went stiff but still did not forget their duty to growl at me.
For the first time ever, I really appreciate my wolf for not growling like that.
'I knew you would see the sparkling in me one day.' I heard her voice in my head finally.
'Look who's back from hell.' I added a sarcastic comment and went back to conversing with the trio.
"A rogue is still a rogue. They are dangerous and wild nonetheless, therefore we must end her life." The elder spoke so casually as if my life is not worth living in their eyes.
'This old man is getting on my beautiful blue nerves. I'm wild? Is he blind?' Dea grumbled angrily. But then she her angry slowly dissipated and a new wave of breath left her muzzle.
I know what kind of breath it is. The breath I both hate and dread. She is starting this again, my Goddess!
No, not again Dea!
Please not again!
'Veira, the alpha!' She started taking breathes of fascination I dread the most. 'I think the alpha is our mate. Doesn't he look like sugared jelly?'
Ignoring her, I reeled over my thoughts and analyzed my situation to get out without getting hurt. She will not help me in this situation no so I should only count on myself.
'Wow! Just look at him; don't you think he will elevate my beauty beside me?' What am I going to do with her?
'Shut up and get us out of here first. Stop drooling over him. He is not our mate.'
'He is definitely our mate. Get close to him; let me take a closer look at that molten goodness.'
'This is the twelfth time Dea. Twelfth time you claimed a man to be our mate.'
'Wow! He's like Fuller's clay that I want on me. Hey, ask him what he uses for his face to look that shiny and smooth.'
Is she even listening to me?
Our lives are in danger and she only cares about the man she is attracted to. I thought the wolf part of us is pretty loyal and has their heart set only on mate.
But Goddess, yet again, made a joke of my whole life with a wolf who wants all the hot men to be her mates.
'Veira, let's take him with us.' Even if the men does kill me, Dea will definitely get me killed.
And at that moment I realized that was my last day on the planet.
