It feels so right to be here with you

Regina sat at her desk, her mind a whirlwind of conflicting emotions as she stared blankly at the screen of her laptop. She had been trying to focus on her homework, but her thoughts kept drifting back to Aria and the budding relationship they had begun to explore.

They had been on two dates already, each one more magical than the last. Regina found herself falling for Aria, her warmth and kindness melting away the walls she had spent years building around herself. But amidst the excitement of their blossoming romance, a nagging sense of unease gnawed at Regina's heart.

She knew that she couldn't keep Aria a secret forever, that eventually she would have to tell Cady about her new girlfriend. And the thought terrified her.

Regina and Cady had been friends for years, ever since high school. They had been through so much together, weathering the storms of adolescence and emerging stronger on the other side. But Regina couldn't shake the fear that her newfound happiness would somehow jeopardize their friendship.

With a sigh, Regina glanced at the clock on her bedside table. It was well past midnight, but sleep eluded her as her mind raced with worry. Unable to bear the weight of her fears alone any longer, she reached for her phone and dialed Janis's number, her heart pounding in her chest as she waited for her friend to pick up.

The phone rang several times before Janis's groggy voice filled the line. "Regina? Do you have any idea what time it is?"

Regina winced, guilt flooding her veins as she realized just how late it was. "I'm sorry, Janis. I didn't mean to wake you up. I just... I needed someone to talk to."

Janis sighed heavily on the other end of the line, her irritation melting away as she heard the desperation in Regina's voice. "What's wrong, Regina? Is everything okay?"

Regina hesitated for a moment before blurting out her fears in a rush of words. "I'm dating someone, Janis. Her name's Aria, and she's amazing. But I'm scared to tell Cady about her. I don't want to ruin our friendship, but I don't know how to keep hiding this from her either."

There was a moment of silence on the other end of the line as Janis processed Regina's confession. "Regina, you need to tell Cady the truth. Keeping secrets will only make things worse in the long run. And if she's truly your friend, she'll understand and support you no matter what."

Regina felt a surge of gratitude wash over her as she listened to Janis's words of wisdom. She knew that her friend was right, that she couldn't continue to hide her happiness for fear of what others might think.

"Thank you, Janis," Regina said softly, her voice filled with emotion. "I don't know what I'd do without you."

Janis chuckled softly, the sound warm and reassuring. "Anytime, Regina. I'm always here for you, no matter what. Now get some sleep, okay? We can talk more about this in the morning."

Regina nodded, a sense of peace washing over her as she bid Janis goodnight and ended the call. With a weight lifted from her shoulders, she sank back against her pillows, her mind finally quieting as she allowed herself to drift off into a fitful sleep.

Tomorrow was a new day, Regina thought as she closed her eyes. And with Janis by her side, she knew that she could face whatever challenges lay ahead, confident in the knowledge that she was no longer alone in her journey towards self-discovery and happiness.

As it turns out not even Janis is enough to soothe her nerves, despite Regina knowing she's only a phone call away, while she's waiting for Cady the next day, she's sat on a bench on the college campus, soaking up the sun. If this goes wrong she's slightly convinced she'll cry. But it's Cady so she has nothing to worry about. Right?

Regina sat on the bench, her hands fidgeting in her lap as she anxiously waited for Cady to arrive. The warmth of the sun on her skin did little to ease the knot of nerves tightening in her stomach. She kept replaying Janis's words in her mind, reminding herself that she needed to be honest with Cady, that true friendship could weather any storm.

As she scanned the campus, Regina spotted Cady approaching in the distance. Her heart skipped a beat at the sight of her friend, the familiar warmth of their bond providing a small measure of comfort amid her apprehension. But as Cady drew nearer, Regina's anxiety intensified, her mind racing with a thousand 'what ifs.'

"Cady," Regina greeted as her friend reached the bench, her voice wavering slightly despite her best efforts to appear composed.

"Hey, Regina!" Cady replied with a bright smile, settling onto the bench beside her. "What's going on? You sounded urgent on the phone."

Regina took a deep breath, summoning her courage as she met Cady's gaze. "I... I wanted to talk to you about something important."

Cady's expression shifted to one of concern, her eyes searching Regina's face. "Of course, Regina. You know you can tell me anything."

Regina hesitated for a moment, gathering her thoughts before plunging ahead. "I've been seeing someone, Cady. Her name's Aria, and... we've been on a few dates."

A flicker of surprise crossed Cady's features before she broke into a warm smile. "Regina, that's wonderful! I'm happy for you."

Regina's heart swelled with relief at Cady's initial reaction, but her nerves persisted. "Thank you, Cady. But... I'm nervous about telling you because... well, you and I have been through so much together, and I don't want anything to change between us."

Cady reached out and placed a reassuring hand on Regina's shoulder. "Regina, our friendship means the world to me. And just because you're dating someone doesn't mean anything has to change between us. If anything, I'm here to support you, no matter what."

Tears welled up in Regina's eyes as she felt the weight of Cady's words, her fears melting away in the warmth of her friend's acceptance. "Thank you, Cady. I was so afraid of losing you."

Cady pulled Regina into a gentle hug, her embrace filled with love and understanding. "You'll never lose me, Regina. I'm so proud of you for being honest with me."

Regina hugged Cady tightly, a sense of gratitude and relief washing over her. In that moment, she realized that true friendship transcended any obstacle, that she was no longer alone in her journey towards self-discovery and happiness.

As they sat together on the bench, the sun shining overhead, Regina knew that with Cady's unwavering support, she could face whatever challenges lay ahead with confidence and strength. And as she looked towards the future, she felt a renewed sense of hope and optimism for the possibilities that awaited her.

The hardest bit is over, for now anyway. With Cady. But she still needs to talk to her mum. Which Regina is dreading.

Regina sat at her desk, her mind still reeling from her conversation with Cady. Relief washed over her as she reflected on her friend's understanding and support. Yet, another daunting conversation loomed ahead—this time with her mother.

With a deep breath, Regina grabbed her phone and dialed her mom's number. The familiar ringtone echoed in her ears until her mom's face appeared on the screen, her warm smile reaching across the digital divide.

"Regina, darling, how are you?" her mom greeted, her voice filled with concern and love.

"Hi, Mom," Regina replied, trying to mask her apprehension with a smile. "I need to talk to you about something important."

Her mom's expression softened, concern deepening. "Of course, sweetie. What's on your mind?"

Regina took a moment to gather her thoughts, the weight of her words heavy on her tongue. "Mom, I've met someone. Her name is Aria, and... we've been close."

Her mom's eyes widened slightly in surprise, but she maintained a calm demeanour. "That's wonderful news, Regina. I'm happy for you. The more friends the merrier. How did you two meet?"

Regina hesitated, her nerves resurfacing. "We met on a dating site. But, Mom, there's something else I need to tell you. Aria is my girlfriend."

Her mom's expression shifted, a mixture of understanding and something else Regina couldn't quite decipher. "I see. Regina, are you happy?"

Tears welled up in Regina's eyes as she felt the weight of her mother's unspoken acceptance. "Yes, Mom. I am."

Her mom reached out with a comforting smile. "Then that's all that matters, sweetheart. I may not have said it before, but I've always known. You and Cady... I saw the way you looked at each other. I never wanted to intrude on your journey, especially after everything you went through." Regina feels her heart ache at the mention of Cady.

Regina's heart swelled with emotion, her mother's words validating her feelings in ways she hadn't expected. "Thank you, Mom. I was afraid to tell you."

Her mom's smile softened. "You never have to be afraid to be yourself with me, Regina. I love you no matter what."

Regina wiped away her tears, a sense of relief washing over her. In that moment, she realized the immense love and support that surrounded her, from Cady, her mother, and her friends.

As she ended the call, Regina felt a newfound sense of freedom and acceptance settling within her. She knew there would be more conversations and challenges ahead, but with the unwavering support of her loved ones, she was ready to face them head-on.

With a renewed sense of purpose, Regina returned to her homework, her mind clearer than it had been in weeks. Tomorrow was indeed a new day, filled with endless possibilities, and she was eager to embrace each one with open arms.

I don't know if this makes sense or not so sorry if it doesn't I guess.
