Chapter 4 - The Witch in the Cottage
If only I could fly in the sky like a bird. If only I could swim freely in the waters like a fish… Why do humans wish for such things….?
[Page 1- Book 1, Chapter 1]
Husky and I were only given one large blanket to share. We slept together with our heads on a rolled up matt. I wasn’t sure if Husky actually fell asleep, but I knew I couldn’t. So I didn’t even bother. We suddenly stopped sharp.
“Hey! Come out here!” The man with the closed face yell at us. Husky and I slowly got out until we stepped outside. We were in the middle of nowhere, dirt for miles and a big rock structure behind us.
“Just a pit stop. Do your business, if you’ve got any.” The man told us.
“Come into the shade. Your pasty white skin will fry out there in the sun.” Another man said with a sneer as he glared at Husky. Husky went into the shade and I followed as well.
“Here, eat!” The men said, handing us both food. A loath of bread and a cup of water. I went a little away from the men and sat next to the rocks. Husky still stood there, looking around frantically.
“You’re a fish +Anima… If you run away, you won’t find any rivers or ponds. You’ll just hurt yourself for nothing.” The one told Husky, while the other turned to me.
“And you? You’re not even a +Anima! It will do you no good at all to even try and run away. However, it seems you already know that. Obedient.” He said with a smirk.
After our pit stop we were on the road again. The next time we stopped, we got off and they bound our hands together and took us to their slave market. Husky and I were put together on display, for some strange reason.
“A fish +Anima…! He’d make a good fisherman’s assistant. It’s so wasteful to send him here. He’s been brought specially to Stella with that girl…”
“Yeah! Lord Hashas has been longing for a rejuvenating slave.”
“And remember he’s also a painter! I bet if we were to make a good enough presentation for Lord Hashas he would surely buy both of them!”
“Yes! We can even make a show for him! How about a Kimunkle girl, capturing a merman?”
“Yes! Well, let’s tidy up first.”
“Would blue be suitable? The child’s clothes are blue anyway...” One of the buyers said, examining Husky before searching through more clothes.
“Wait a second!” Husky yelled suddenly, surprising me so that I fell to the ground and the two men dropped the clothes. “If you’re going to sell us, then we’re valuable to you. I know what will make us even more valuable to defiantly sell us. Will you listen?” Husky suggested, and I raised an eyebrow at him. I wasn’t sure what he was doing, but I think I understood. He’s trying to get them to make him look different, so that Lord Hashas won’t recognize him as a ghost prince. Although what he had in mind was surprising.
About an hour later, our scene was ready.
“Hashas-sama. Domitel, the slave trader is here.”
“Did he bring the slave I wanted?” When Lord Hashas stepped outside, his face beamed and his eyes and mouth were the shape of saucers.
“Oh…this is…” The smile on his face was bright. Let me explain the scene we have made. Husky was dressed up as a…Mermaid Princess. He wore a pink, glistering top that Nana would freak over. He had pearls around his neck and wrists. He had a black wig on that reached his waist. In his hair he had two beautiful large flowers with pearls running down from them. They also put make-up on him… He was sitting on a large black bowl full of water, and his tail swept around the bowl.
I looked the same as I did, except additional to my feathers, they also braided red beads into my now loose hair, making me look like a real Kimunkle female. They also, to make it look more realistic, gave me a bow and arrows that are on my back. They were pretty convinced I had no idea how to use them. Well I’ve got a surprise then…
I was standing behind Husky, but I was leaning over and my arms were wrapped around Husky’s shoulders. My head was on his right shoulder, allowing me to see Lord Hashas’s face. Husky’s expression was distant, while mine was more of a…sexy glance, if I would describe it.
“Oh wow…”
“A fish +Anima…Sapphire!” Domitel introduced Husky.
“And the only female Kimunkle, Hebi!” He said, introducing me as well. Lord Hashas suddenly clapped his hands.
“Magnificent! This will make my best painting yet! Please, let me show you to your room. I have only prepared one, because I wasn’t expecting two of you but I will prepare a second room for you, Hebi, as well! But you’re going to have to share with Sapphire for the time being.” I smirked.
“That is quite fine, I don’t mind.” I said with a mischief expression, in which he blushed at. I helped Husky from the bowl so that he could change back into legs again. Once he stood, he had a white skirt that reached to the floor.
“This is your room.” Lord Hashas showed us. It was right next to the pool. “You may sleep in the pool if you’d rather, Sapphire.” Two servants came in and placed down food on a table in the room.
“You two will be my models for my next painting. But I won’t instruct you on poses. Just be natural!” he said, in which Husky frowned at. But Lord Hashas didn’t see it apparently.
“You…look familiar…” He suddenly said when examining Husky’s expression. My eyes went wide for a second.
“Anyway! Get a good night’s sleep!” He said before disappearing down the hall. Husky sighed in relief. I went to sit at the table to eat and he joined me. We didn’t speak, we didn’t need to. When we were finished we both climbed into the bed, but I removed the bow and arrows from my back first. It was quite large so we had some distance between us before we both fell asleep.
It wasn’t more than three hours later that Husky woke me.
“Huh?” I rubbed the sleep from my eyes and looked at Husky who was standing at the open door that led outside. “Oh…” I said simply and followed him. I stood on top of the pool while he jumped in. I was to make sure no one would come around. A few minutes later I heard flapping. I turned to look at Nana and Cooro as they landed. Nana was about to yell but I covered her mouth.
“Wow! You’re also here Cassie! Where’s Husky?” I snorted and pointed to the shadow in the pool. I bend down to the pool and tapped the water a few times before Husky came up.
“Husky!” Nana silently yelled. Then she suddenly had stars in her eyes.
“That outfit…it’s so pretty!”
“I had to dress up like a woman and you’re enjoying it?!” Husky yelled at them, a stupid play on his part.
“Was it for money? Just like the time with the Mermaid Princess…” Husky then tried to choke Cooro to death… He would have succeeded if I hadn’t stopped him.
“Husky! Stop it!” I hissed at him before he glared at Cooro.
“That choker…” Husky then realized and I turned to see what he was talking about.
“Ah…well…We were rescued by a Lady named Crystala and now we’re her slaves…Senri was her slave a long time ago.” Cooro told us.
“That…you…” Husky was at a loss of words.
“How’s Senri?” I asked, sitting next to Cooro.
“We left him back at Crystala-san’s office.”
“Since he can’t fly.”
“Um…Anyway at least you two are safe!” Nana said cheerfully. “We should get going Cooro.”
“How about you carry Cassie and I carry Husky?” Cooro suggested.
“W…Wait a second! I don’t want to leave! Not yet!” Husky said suddenly.
“Are you kidding?!” Nana yelled at him.
“No. You two should leave, and take Cassie with you. I went to a lot of trouble to get here. It’s you guys who should go back to Asteria.” He said, the last part looking straight at Nana and Cooro.
“That’s so selfish! I won’t allow it!” Nana scolded Husky.
“I know it’s selfish…But surely Crystala will…” Husky was cut off.
“There was noise in the pool!”
“A thief?!” I thought fast and turned to them.
“Cooro, Nana take Husky and leave!” I instructed them.
“EH!? What about you?!” Nana asked me.
“I’ll be fine! I’ll find a way, now go!” And so they did. Cooro took Husky by the arms and Nana took him by the tail. They were over the walls and gone in no time. I fell to the ground and stared up at the wall, but to put a little act on for the guards I also shook slightly in what will look to them like fear.
“What?!” One of the guards yelled as he came outside.
“The +Anima is gone!”
“A thief!” One guard suddenly ran up to me and kneeled down.
“Are you ok, Hebi-sama?” I frowned slightly at the formality. I slowly stood up, the guard helping me.
“S-Sapphire…She’s gone...” I said slowly, as if in pain. I must say, I think I’m a magnificent actor.
“Let’s get you to bed, you need to rest.” A guard said as he assisted me to my room. When he left he closed the door behind him. I took a deep breath. Seeing as Husky woke me from my slumber, I was still tired. I climbed into the bed and fell asleep.
The next morning I was woken by servants and they led me to the dining room. But before I went I grabbed the bow and arrows. It was a large table, but there was only one meal on the tip. I ate silently, seeing as there was no one in the room. I could however hear the arguments from Lord Hashan in the next room.
“What do you mean she’s gone?!”
“She was stolen, and from the black feathers around the pool we figured it was a bird type +Anima that stole her.” There was suddenly a crash, a break of glass.
“You were supposed to patrol around the pool! If you’d only do your job then we wouldn’t have ended up in this mess.”
“I am sorry sir.”
“What were you doing?!” Lord Hashan finally snapped. I heard a gulp and there was hesitation.
“We were having a meeting among the guards, sir.”
“What? A meeting? About what?!” Wow, didn’t expect Lord Hashan to snap like that! This could be my only chance. I silently stood up from the table and made it to the door that led to their room. I opened it carefully and silently. Inside I saw the captain of the guards and Lord Hashan. They were still arguing but I didn’t listen. I had something else to concentrate on. I examined the room I was in, making sure no one was in like I previously thought. Luckily there was no one. I took out the bow, and planted an arrow in it. I’ve done some archery before, but very little and a long time ago. I aimed at the guard. I pulled back the string, and let go. The arrow went flying fast. Faster than he could dodge. The arrow lodged itself into his abdomen, causing a painful scream. Lord Hashan turned to me with a surprised and bewildered look.
“Gaurds!” He suddenly yelled, and I was gone. I closed the door as fast as I can and ran to the door that led to the main hall. When I got to the main hall, I did not expect the entire guard squad that Lord Hashan owned. I silently cursed as the guards ran at me, swords at hand. I dodged the first sword with my bow, but a second guard was already behind me. He aimed for my abdomen with his sword but I quickly moved away, giving a third guard a opening to slice at my side. Blood gushed out of my right side as I hissed in pain.
I fell to the ground and gasped in pain as a guard tried to attack. I dodged once again with my bow and pushed forward, trying to get off of the ground. When I finally kneeled, another tried to slash at my side but I managed to jump backwards in time. Two guards ran up to me and tried slashing at me, successfully making me move backwards until my back hit something.
I quickly glanced to realize it was a door. Another guard came at me, but he wasn’t exactly prepared to strike so I could successfully land a punch to his face. I opened the door and ran inside, closing the door behind me and locking it. I then realized I was in a very, very pink room.
I heard a yell, and turned to see a small girl. She was about the same age as Nana and had a royal dress on. I ran to her and could successfully grab her and cover her mouth. I heard banging on the door, probably the guards trying to get in.
I knew that they would succeed to break the door down in a few minutes. I looked all around the room, trying to search for something useful. Of course the crying girl in my arms is useful but I need something else. I then spotted the girl’s table. There was a plate with crumbs, a fork and a sharp knife. I guess she didn’t want to eat with stranger (me) so she ate in her room.
I ran to the table, dragging her with me and grabbed the sharp knife. The banging on the door got louder but there were more pauses between. At the back of the girl’s room there was another room. I dragged her with me there and opened it to see a library.
“Studies, huh?” I asked her and she nodded while crying into my arm. I dragged her inside and closed the door, locking it as well. I put the knife to the girl’s neck and she took a sharp intake of breath.
“Is there a window in this room that’s I’d be able to fit through?” She pulled her head back a little to nod.
“Then you will show me where it is, and you will not scream. Or else I will hurt you.” She nodded and I let her go. She took a deep breath and started to speed walk down the large library. I knew the horror of noble studies. I feel for this girl. But her library was huge. Like a maze. After about 10 minutes we got to a wall, and not just bookcases full of…books.
“There.” She said, pointing to a large window. I ran over to it and opened it. It led outside to the courtyard. I turned to her with a sad smile. I was actually surprised to see her still standing there.
“Thank you. Please, give me call when you want me to rescue you from your horror noble studies.” She surprised me when smiling.
“Well if I were to call you, how would I find you?” I smiled and hesitated.
“The name’s Cassidy.” Her eyes were filled with recognition instantly.
“Y-you’re…!” I put a finger to my lips.
“Please, keep this a secret, Katherine…” If it was possible, her eyes went even wider. We heard a distant banging.
“Lady Katherine! Are you ok?! Is the female Kimunkle there?!” Katherine looked to me before smiling and yelling.
“Female Kimunkle?! There is no such thing! I am simply studying and you are interrupting me!” She yelled loudly enough for them to heard. We could hear apologetic screams back.
“Well…be off then.” Kath said as she smiled at me. I shook my head and jumped out of the window, Katherine closing it behind me. Luckily there was no one in the court yard, seeing as all the guards have just now rudely barged into Katherine’s room. I started to run as fast as I can, not caring if I made to much sound because no one could hear from inside the mansion. When I made it to the gate, I was already out of breath. My wound to the side couldn’t stop bleeding. But I didn’t stop. The gates were huge as well as locked. They were just like the ones at the White Mountains. Except the metal is new. I started to climb up the gate, seeing as it was a frame structure gate. Almost like a ladder actually. When I made it to the top I swung myself over to the other side and climbed down fast. I jumped down to the ground and started to run away as fast as I can. I didn’t take the dirt road but instead I went through the forest that surrounded his mansion. When I was sure to be about 10 kilometres away, I sat down next to a tree and examined my wound. I cried out in pain as I touched it. I breathed heavily as sweat covered my forehead.
“Seems you’ve got a nasty bruise there.” I heard and turned my head to see an old, short lady with a basket full of apples.
“My cottage is really not far from here. If you could hold out just until we’re there.” She told me with her old, soft and fragile voice. I nodded and stood up slowly, trying to keep my cries of pain to myself but failed miserably. The woman started to walk between the trees and I followed behind. I questioned why the woman would offer help but I didn’t really care. I was going to bleed to death at this rate. After five minutes of walking, we were at a small cottage, just randomly in the forest.
“Come.” She told me as she opened the door. I entered after her and she closed the door. The inside was pretty normal and simple. Everything you’d need. Except for the random huge cauldron in the corner of the room. People can survive without that.
“Sit.” She told me and pointed to the bed. I didn’t hesitate and did what she told me. She started to search through cupboards. She pulled out a medical kit came over to me. She gently laid me down on my back so that my right side would show to her. She lifted up my shirt to just under my chest so that she could examine my wound.
“A sword. Who’d you get in trouble with?” She asked with a smirk. I huffed.
“That Lord Hashan.” I hissed out and she chuckled.
“So you were the cause of all that noise. Well then, let’s get you cleaned up.” She took some cotton and dipped it into some red liquid before placing it on my wound. I cried out in pain and she tried to soothe me and she cleaned the wound until there was no more blood.
“I guess you were only hit with the point of the sword, seeing as it isn’t even five centimetres deep.” She took out a bowl with some invisible jelly looking stuff in it. I raised my eyebrow as she placed it over my wound. I hissed at the coldness. After she spread it over the wound she helped me stand so that she could bandage it. I helped her by passing the roll each time it came to the front. When we were finished she put away everything she used.
“Thank you for helping me.” She waved her hand dismissively.
“It was my pleasure. I can’t just leave someone to bleed to death like that.” She told me with a nod and a smile. I laughed nervously as she searched for something through her closet. She took out a white dress with white shorts and new undergarments.
“Dress in these and give me your other clothes to wash.” I nodded and swapped the clothes and gave my Kimunkle clothes to the old lady. I helped her wash it outside of course.
“So why were you at Lord Hashas anyway?” She asked me, trying to get the blood out of the shirt.
“My friend and I were sold to him as slaves for him to paint.”
“Ah…was your friend a +Anima?” I nodded.
“And you’re a female Kimunkle?” I shook my head.
“No. I got these clothes at the Kimunkel tribe in Moss Mountain yes, but only in exchange for my old clothes. The slave traders decided to weave the beads into my hair for the picture. There is no such thing as a female Kimunkle.” I told her. She shook her head and I raised an eyebrow.
“There are female Kimunkle, but they are hidden by the males. The males hide the females and children for safety. The males believe they are too weak to take care of themselves.” I snorted.
“But all the Kimunkles are +Anima, so the females must be as well. They can protect themselves, can’t they?”
“Yes, that it true. I don’t know the entire story but I believe the males are selfish.” I chuckled and nodded.
“Yeah… Maybe I should make it my personal mission to help the females show the males just how strong they really are.” She laughed and nodded.
“That would be a real sight to see. Please, remember to invite me to watch.” I nodded with a smile. We were now finished with my clothes and we hung them up to dry. The old lady told me to come sit on a bolder outside. I did as I was told and she started to remove the beads from my hair.
“Your hair is an absolute mess! I wouldn’t be surprised to find bird eggs in here.” I chuckled and nodded. My hair was a mess from the fight plus the trees and branches I walked into previously, and my because the slave traders made my hair loose and not the three weaved tails as it usually was, it was an absolutely mess.
“Wow…would you look at that…” She held her hand in front of my face. Inside her palm was a small egg. It was just a little bigger than a coin would be, and it was in the typical egg shape. It was a turquoise colour with small black spots on it. I was astonished. Somewhere along the entire mess had I managed to get a bird egg in my hair. I took the egg from her hand.
“What specie is it?” She shook her head.
“Not sure. Never seen everything like it.” I then decided that I would keep the egg and try to raise it. It was going to be hard but I’ll try. After the old lady got everything removed from my hair, she combed it neatly. If I were to stand up now my hair would reach just above my knees. If my hair was weaved then it would reach my waist. My hair is this long because it reached my waist when I was 12 and I didn’t like cutting it at the White Mountains, seeing as it was just extra warmth when I wanted.
“Your hair is so long. It’s beautiful, and the colour is quite rare.” She complemented. My hair wasn’t even ginger, it was bright orange.
“Thank you. I got it from my mother.” I said with a sad smile. She stayed quiet for a while.
“Who is your mother?” I hesitated, knowing it may not be the best option to tell her.
“Her name is Reena.” She stopped short before going back to combing my hair.
“Everyone knows the name of Reena. I remember the court case from 17 years ago. It was the biggest case ever done here in Sairando. Well in my life time anyway, and I saw the king and his sister play in mud.” I snorted.
“Really?” She nodded and I laughed. “I would give anything to see that!” She laughed as well.
“Yes, it was quite the sight…” She doze off for a while before walking to my hanging clothes.
“They’re dry.” I nodded and took my clothes inside to dress. My black shorts, grey Kimunkle shirt and grey Kimunkle boots.
“Come here.” The old lady said with a smile. I went and sat on my knees in front of her, so she could do my hair.
“Can you maybe please make three braids?” I requested and she nodded.
“Of course dearie.” She split my hair into three and place the two over my shoulder. She then stood up and went outside. When she came back she had a bowl she placed all the beads in and the two pea-feathers.
“I don’t think the beads are needed. I’m not a Kimunkle.” She frowned.
“What are you talking about? Of course you need the beads!” I didn’t argue with her as she started to weave my hair, inserting three beads together at random places. When she was finished with the three weaved tails she took the two feathers and gently pressed them into the top of my hair, letting them curl over backwards.
“Thank you…” I said softly and I could see out the corner of my eye her smile.
“It’s a pleasure dearie, I like working with hair.” I shook my head and stood up.
“And not just that, but saving me as well. I don’t know what I would’ve done if you hadn’t saved me.” She smiled and handed me a brown backpack. It was my backpack. I took it and opened it, surprised to see everything I had still inside.
“I added new supplies for you.” I looked up at her in shock.
“But this was taken away by the slave traders…” She nodded.
“Yup, so I got it back for you. I also added some of the medicine and bandages inside. You need to change them first thing tomorrow morning.” I stared at her in shock.
“How’d you get my backpack? And when?” She smiled.
“Before you even entered the forest.” I was confused.
“You knew I was coming?” She nodded.
“Of course dearie. I know what happens in the world.” I blinked in surprise.
“How do you know all of that?” I asked and she just shook her head.
“I just know. Now go off! I believe you want to go to your old home, correct?” I nodded and she stood up and walked outside. I followed her. Once outside she pointed in a random direction.
“Go that way and you’ll start of on the right path. Good luck.” I nodded and started in the direction she showed me. It was a surprising light path. The sunlight shone down between the trees perfectly here, making a path of light. There weren’t any obstacles either. Like boulders or fallen trees. I took out the blue egg I previously acquired and smiled. I knew that eggs had to be kept warm, so I loosened the hair on the back of my neck a bit to make a bubble in my hair. I placed the egg in there. I know, it must sound weird to keep an egg in your hair but my hair is bushy, thick and warm. Also because of my hair colour the son warms my hair much faster, hence one of the main reasons why they’re usually weaved. Also this way I would defiantly know if the bird is born, and no one else can see the egg.
At the end of the path I stopped. I couldn’t believe it. The path led me to my old home. A massive white mansion on the end of the forest. I hesitated, wondering if it’s a good idea to see them again. I rid those thoughts though as I started walking to the mansion. I was surprised to see the gates open, but they weren’t left open. They were forced open. I walked in and through the court yard to the front door, which was also open with dents in it. My mind raced at what could’ve happened. As I stepped in I was immediately hit with an awful smell. It was a dreadful and metallic smell. I recognized the smell however. It was the same smell from the stab wound I have. Blood. I ran upstairs and into the main room. 16. I counted. Sixteen dead bodies of the servants on the ground. They all had blood leaking out of their neck, but they weren’t normal wounds. They were claws. A +Anima did this! I ran through the house, checking every room. Each room was the same. Each room had a least more than five dead bodies inside, all from claws.
And then came the final room. The library, my parents’ study place. I hesitantly open, and my eyes went wide. My parents’ bodies were there, dead. But there was one difference than all the others. They didn’t have claw marks on only their necks. There were claws marks on their entire body, blood leaking out everywhere. My mother’s long white dress was torn and covered in blood. Her short orange hair was now tinted a darker shade at some places. My father’s black suit was torn and his light blonde hair was now almost brown. Both my parents had expressionless expressions. Their bodies were together, meaning my dad probably tried to protect my mother.
“I knew you’d come.” I whipped my head around, and my eyes went wide.
“No…no, no, no! It can’t be you! You’re dead!” I yelled at the dark figure. This figure had a dark suit on, perfect to match his long, black hair. His brown eyes held mischief in them, as he watched me in pain. This man is Toni. He was my previous weapon instructor. He was always so cheerful and loyal, what happened?
I do have an idea what happened. Something terrible must have happened. Seeing as the last time I saw him, he wasn’t a +Anima.
From Toni’s back sprouted light orange wings with a black stripe- like pattern on the tips of his wings. His feet were replaced with large claws. I knew this bird. It was a falcon.
“W-why?” I stuttered out. He smiled the same mischief smile and walked over to me. He took one of my weaved tails and stared at the beads before staring at my face. He was so close to me. I wanted to push him away, but I couldn’t. His stare made my body freeze. Whether in fear or disbelief, I didn’t know.
“So this is where you ran off to. Leaving your perfect half-noble life to become a Kimunkle? Your parents would be ashamed… That is, if they were alive however.” I glared at him, and he smirked.
“Well, Lady Cassidy, I was getting sick of working like a servant. Especially to a man like your father. I mean seriously. His sister is one of the twelve Queens of Sairando, and he uses his noble status to start a court case. How stupid can he be! A court case just to allow him to marry a peasant like your mother.” I glared at him. I now hated him. The Toni I knew was dead, just like this Toni would be.
“Oh no, no, no. Don’t glare at me like that.” He told me, sarcastically. “Besides, what can you do against me? You have no weapons. Didn’t you listen to any of my teachings?” That was true. The bow and arrows I had abandoned in the forest, main reason they were extra weight. The knife I left with Katherine.
“Why?” I choked out, and he suddenly looked at me with curiosity. “Why did you do it? What will it do you any good to kill my father? Is this some sick, twisted blood lust?” I hissed at him, and he chuckled.
“Well, the plan is to get rid of anyone with noble blood.” I narrowed my eyes.
“Why?” I asked.
“Why? Well, why not? If I kill them I can take their money and become king if I want. Wouldn’t that be great? Everyone would be so much happier under my reign.” I wanted to kill him. But I was still frozen. I tried moving, but nothing came of it.
“And to do that, I’m going to have to kill you as well.” My eyes went wide as he suddenly flew up and came down, his claws ready to kill. I managed to move actually, but only a little. His claws managed to scrape the top of my head. I turned my head to see Toni come down again. I managed to duck this time, seeing as I wasn’t frozen in shock anymore. I jumped backwards and hit something metal. I looked up and realized it was one of those armour statues. But this one had a spear in its hands. I grabbed the spear and turn around carelessly, the spear stretched out. My carelessly paid off though. I managed to get Toni is the side, hard. And with the bladed side as well, allowing blood to sweep through his black suit. He cried out in pain as he fell to the ground. There was no hesitation as I ran up to Toni with the spear. When he opened his eyes from the pain, it was too late to do anything. I lunged the spear into his left wing and he cried out in true agony. I stepped on the blood gushing wing and held the spear to Toni’s chest. Toni glared at me as he tried to struggle, but the pain of his wing was to unbearable. I hated this man. I used to think of him as my teacher, my instructor. My friend. He’s the one who taught me to use weapons. He always told me that fighting without a weapon is a disgraceful. Using your natural weapons like hands are only for weaklings. Although, I now know everything he said were lies. I pressed the tip onto his chest as he suddenly tensed.
“You wouldn’t.” He told me as he glared. “You’re to innocent. The thought of death made you hurl for days.” I tensed slightly before smirking.
“That was 3 years ago. The difference between then and now? I survived for almost 3 years in temperature under 0, where all my thoughts were questioned and my beliefs were looked down upon. I somehow became a Kimunkle, I made four friends and the worst of all? I lost my parents.” I finished and didn’t hesitate in stabbing his abdomen. I didn’t stand to wait for him to die, I ran. What he said was true. I am to innocent. I never knew real pain from my childhood and death was my phobia. Still is. If it’s one thing I learned on the White Mountians is how to suppress your emotions. Because of how I wanted to just snap at any one for saying that +Anima aren’t real. Truth be told, those servants were the first ever person I’ve seen dead. I honestly wanted to scream right then and there, but I couldn’t. I wouldn’t. When I ran outside I started crying. I ran out of the lot and back down the light path, still crying. I couldn’t believe it all. I went home on the day everyone was killed by my old teacher. Then out of fury I killed him. How could I? What choice did I have? He was a terrible man… But… I still had a choice. And death wasn’t the answer! I then suddenly dropped to the dirt in a sob. I couldn’t stop crying. Why is that? I felt something wet trickle down the back of my neck and I quickly touched my head, realising it’s where his sword scraped me. It wasn’t a lot of blood so I managed to clean it quickly before it could leak onto my shirt.
I was tired. I felt dead. The events of the day couldn’t pass from my memory. The tears never stopped. They kept coming until I eventually cried myself to sleep
