I was out on watch, I checked my watch, it was 8 am where the hell is the su- I saw red flashing lights. Their here. I got up an ran to the cabins and to Mariposa. I shook her awake, "Mariposa wake up," I whispered.

She rubbed her eyes, "Honey whats wrong?" She leaned over and hugged my waist. 

"Their here," I whispered. Her eyes shot open, she hopped out of the bed that we secretly shared. I grabbed her hand and ran to our truck that we had just in case this happened. We jumped in, I stomped on the gas. I look to Mariposa, I could tell her adrenaline was running high, I reached over and grabbed her thighs. She looks to me, worry in her eyes. She started to cry, I pulled over, "Sweetheart, we alright, we're gonna be ok."

She grabbed me, "Those lights could come, we have no idea! We could die! I don't want to lose you!" 

I pulled her hug, she put her head on my shoulder, "Nothing is gonna touch you, I promise." I kissed the top of her head.

"What about you?" She looked me in the eyes.

"If it means saving you then yes, I would die for you," I smiled.

"No! You let me die, I couldn't live with the guilt!" She screamed, I covered her mouth. I had heard something, I grabbed a gun from the back, "sit" I mouthed to Mariposa. There was a human stumbling towards us, I shot and fired, hitting the person. I heard Mariposa gasp. I sat back down in the driver seat. Mariposa sat back down in shotgun.

"You can just shoot people like that?" She asked.

"It's my job," I said. 

It was silent until she broke the silence, "War is so inhumane, I hate it."

"Then why did you become a nurse?" I asked.

"I didn't want to, I was forced to. My parents thought sending me to war would fix me," She said looking out the window. 

"Mine too," I said, "One more thing we have in common." She nodded.

Then we heard screaming, I stopped the car. I saw someone running from someone else. I hopped out and opened the door, the person rushed into the car, I shot the brainwashed person behind them. I hopped in and closed the door with a thud.

A person rushed in, I heard a gunshot then Scáthach jumped in a slammed the door shut. The person started to cry, I rubbed his back, I was used to this as a war nurse. "Breathe with me, In, two, three, out, two, three." It was a male, he matched his breathing to mine, "Good, can you tell me what happened? Also whats your name, mine's Mariposa and the one driving is Scáthach."

"I-I woke up to my roommate just starting me, I-I asked him what was wrong he-he then pulled out a knife, I've been running from him ever since, and my names tucker," Tucker said.

"I'm sorry that happened to you," I said sympathetically, "Would you like some water?"

"Yes please, do you have any food and do you know whats going on?" He asked.

I went to the back and grabbed a power bar and a water bottle, "Here and yes I do know whats going on, your gonna think we're crazy." I laughed. 

He opened the power bar and took a bite, "At this point, nothing crazy." 

"Aliens," I said.

"I guessed as much," He mumbled, then he looked me in the eyes, "wait, how to do you know?"

"Scáthach and I worked for the military, we all knew," I said. 

"Why didn't the military share this information- oh wait Trump probably," He deducted.

"Yep," I nodded. 

"Have you got contact with anyone else?" He asked.

I shook my head, "Scáthach woke me up then we dipped."

"I'll get on twitter." He nodded.

"Alright, then I'm gonna sit next to Scáthach, tell if you can get ahold of anyone," I said making my way up to shotgun, then I plopped down an buckled in.

"What's up," Scáthach said. 

"His roommate was brainwashed and tried to kill him as soon as he woke up, he's gonna see if anyone else is out there," I said.

"There's someone else online!!" Tucker screamed.  

"Nice tell them about us en stuff and ask them if they want to be picked up!" I called. 

"Ok!" He responded. There was a minute of silence, "It's a dude! And he says hell yes!" 

"Language, please! And we need his address!" I yelled back.

"Can we not yell? Please, and thank you." Scáthach said.

"Sorry babe," I said kissing her on the cheek. 

All of a saddened she slammed on the breaks, "GET DOWN AND DON'T MOVE!" She screamed. We all ducked and got under stuff. A white light flew over the car, its like it was looking to find us. I started I cry.

I could only watch helplessly as Mariposa started to cry out of fear. I wanted to hug I wanted to hold her and kiss her and tell her its alright but I couldn't. "Screw it," I whispered. I crawled over to her and held her and rocked her. The light turned red, that's the last thing I saw.

I watched as Scáthach turned to like a brainless monster in front of my eyes. I was frozen, this monster wasn't my love, my soulmate. Then a gunshot. There in front of my eyes, she lay dead. I looked at Tucker.

Her eyes looked helpless. Scáthach was gone. I knew it. Mariposa whispered, "Killed me."

I started to sob," I'm sorry," I whispered and shot her in the head, that gunshot will haunt me forever. I collapsed. I lay there for hours. Then I got up whipped my tears, threw their bodies out and put the pedal to the medal.
