Erza's POV

I twirled around and admired myself in the mirror. The formal red dress that I bought the other day was what I was wearing. It was long with ruffles at the bottom and it had one strap. My red hair was done in a sort of braid-bun and I had red high heels. Right now, it was Friday afternoon. Can you guess where I'm going?

To my second date. That was kind of obvious. Anyway, I just left my house and was catching the bus to the restaurant that we were going to. Jellal said he was going to drive me home so I didn't have to bring a car. I twirled a stray lock of hair, it was a thing I do when I am nervous. The bus finally came to my stop and I got out. According to Jellal, the restaurant we were going to was just around the corner. I wrapped my cardigan around myself tighter and walked to the restaurant.

'Magnolia Restaurant'

I looked up and saw the big sign of the restaurant. We were here because Magnolia Restaurant were having a formal dance special, where we get a discount on food and then there's a dance, and everyone's dressed up formally.

Ring Ring, Ring Ring!

My phone rang and it made me wonder why I never changed the bring ringtone. Before it could keep ringing, I quickly answered.

"Hello?" I asked without checking the ID.

"Erza! Is he there yet?" Lucy's excited voice shouted.

"No" I laughed.

"Omg! It's so exciting and romantic. If only Natsu would do something like that" Lucy sighed.

"Hey, Natsu's romantic in his own way" I defended my friend.

"Yeah. Anyway, have fun at your date."

"What was the point of this call?"

"Umm, there wasn't a point" Lucy replied and I sweat dropped.

"Well, he's probably coming soon. Bye" I said.

"See ya" she then hung up and I put my phone away.

I checked my watch and it said that it was 6:00. It was exactly the time that we were meant to be here so Jellal should be here. I anxiously looked left, then right, then left and then right. It was getting cold so I rubbed my hands together. Why didn't I bring gloves or a thicker jacket? Stupid me.

Some people started to arrive and went into the restaurant. I sighed and counted the people that came. 7, 8, 9, 10. I sighed and checked my watch again. Waiting for Jellal was getting tiring. It's not like him to be late. Oh well, I'm sure he has a good reason.

I stood up from the bench and stretched. Deciding to check out the menu, I went inside the warm restaurant and flicked through a menu on the front desk. There were many delicious food that made my mouth water. I started thinking of some that I would like to order and when I got to the desserts page, my heart filled with joy. There was strawberry cheesecake and the picture of it looked delicious!

"Excuse me, miss? Would you like a table?" a waitress asked me.

"Oh no. I have a booking but I'll just wait for my partner" I said and put the menu down.

I thanked the lady and went back outside to my bench. After stretching again, I sat down and yawned. Wow, it seems so late now. Many people were already seated in the Magnolia Restaurant but still no sign of Jellal.

I rang him, twice, and then three times but he didn't answer. Why isn't he here yet or answering his phone? I got really worried and thought of going to his house but decided against it. It was already more than fifteen minutes. I bit my nails nervously. Where are you, Jellal? I laid down on the bench and before I knew it, I fell asleep.

Jellal's POV

6:20

There was only darkness and emptiness around me. A bright light shone into my eyes and I slowly opened my eyes. After adjusting to the light, I looked around. I was in a warehouse type of thing and it looked sort of abandoned. There were boxes around and in the middle were chairs and tables. I was securely tied to a chair and the blindfold that was once on me was now on a table.

"Nice of you to join us" Zeref smirked. He was leaning against the wall but walked over to me so he was a metre away.

"Not like I had a choice" I replied.

I was walking home today when some thugs tackled me. There were ten of them, including Zancrow, and I could've taken them down but they had something that put down my defences: the element of surprise. At least I injured most of them pretty badly and that was why Zancrow was bruised, again, and his arm was wrapped in bandages.

"Nice to see you out of hospital... but with more injuries" I said.

"You stubborn, son of a bit-" Zancrow sneered and approached me but Zeref stopped him.

"Now now, Zancrow. You know why he brought him here" Zeref told him. "If he disagrees, you can kill him."

Zancrow smiled evilly but that made me shiver. What should I do? I was tied up and there was no escape from Zeref. He was really determine; he chased after me for a week. Doesn't he ever learn to give up on something like this? What's so special about me anyway?

"So Jellal, I'm sure you know the question by now. Are you going to join us? Or are you going to let something happen to your loved ones?" Zeref asked.

So he was playing that card. He had a look on his face that said he was positive I was going to join him. I didn't want anything to happen to Erza or my friends. Maybe I could join him but secretly not working for him, basically, be a double agent. My mind started working hard on forming a plan.

"Tick tock" Zeref smirked.

That obviously meant I didn't have much time before he would decide to harm my loved ones. My plan that I made was finally done. I looked into Zeref's eyes and spoke with the most confidence I could muster.

"I will join you" I said.

My hands were getting sweaty and I was really nervous. What if they saw through my act and didn't believe me? Come on Jellal, what is wrong with you? Usually you're tough and confident.

"Hmm. Very well. Zancrow, untie him" Zeref commanded.

Zancrow was about to protest but decided against it. He slowly untied me, while glaring daggers at me. "I'm gonna kill you" Zancrow hissed in my ear and I resisted the urge to roll my eyes.

I just kept a blank face and stood up. I rubbed my wrists which were sore from the ropes. It was awfully quiet and awkward.

"Can I go now?" I asked impatiently.

"Yes, of course. But if I need anything from you, I'll call you. Thank you for accepting my offer" Zeref smiled bitterly.

I nodded and walked towards the door. Once outside, I looked left and right. How silly am I? I don't even know where I am. Thinking back to what Zeref said... how is he going to call me? Did he get my phone number? Of course. While I was knocked out, he must have gotten my number and he could've done other things for all I know.

Wait a second. I feel like I'm missing something. I gasped and slapped my forehead. My date with Erza! I quickly checked my watch. 7:00. Dammit! It was probably quarter to six when I got knocked out and now I can't make it to my date because I'm completely lost. Erza's going to kill me and hate me forever. I groaned but my head quickly shot up. I whipped out my phone because it has a GPS on it. Now I can get home.

Zeref's POV

"Zeref! How can you let him go?!" Zancrow shouted at me. "Do you really think we can trust him?"

I sat down and sighed. Of course we couldn't trust Jellal. Did Zancrow really think I wouldn't be prepared for anything? He really has to have more faith in his leader.

"Zancrow, of course I thought of many things. That's why I have injected him with a tracking device and I hacked into his phone before. This will let us know where he is but I also want you watching and listening to everything he does at school" I instructed.

"What?! Why do I have to do it? Why can't you?" Zancrow asked me.

"Because I have important things to do and I won't be at school on Monday" I told him.

He looked reluctant but nodded because he knew he couldn't disobey my orders. I smiled and we parted ways because I wanted to get some sleep so I couldn't wait to reach home. Many scenarios were already in my head about what was going to happen. The most likely one would be that Jellal's a double agent. Never fear, I control my game and playing with Jellal is very entertaining. If he dies, it's not like I would care; after all, he's only a pawn.
