Erza's POV

It was Friday and tomorrow was Gajeel's party. Gajeel was one of the popular people but he had a major crush on Levy. Yesterday, Lucy and I went shopping for clothes for the party. I checked the clock on the wall and remembered that class started in five minutes. Better hurry.

Crash! Ouch! What the hell was that? When I walked around the corner, I banged into something... or someone. I rubbed my forehead and looked to see Jellal sitting on the floor in front of me. My cheeks started turning bright red.

"Are you okay, Erza?" he asked me.

"Y-yeah. Sorry" I stuttered.

"I should be the one apologising so I'm sorry" he said and smiled at me.

Oh my god. My heart fluttered and I couldn't speak. Jellal stood up and held out his hand to me. I was freaking out right now but I calmly placed my hand in his and let him help me up. When we touched, I felt sparks and fireworks fly. We stared into each other's eyes for what seemed like eternity. It was that cheesy moment when everything disappears except for Jellal.

"We better get to class soon" I blurted and turned to walk away but he grabbed my arm.

"Wait" he hesitated. "Are you going to Gajeel's party tomorrow?"

"Y-yes" I replied and mentally cursed myself. Stop stuttering!

"Then make sure you save me a dance" Jellal said before letting go of my arm and heading to class.

I stood there frozen with my eyes wide. Did he just say what I think he said? Dance. With. Jellal.

Ding Ding Ding! Damn it. The bell went and that meant that class had started. I didn't want to be late so I started to run to class but then I realised who I had. Mr Clive was a pretty laid back man but... can also be strict. I slowed down to a walk when I reached the class. The whole time I sat in class, I had my mind on Jellal and couldn't concentrate on anything else.

"It's going to be so much fun, Erza. Omg! You look amazing! I bet all the boys are going to be staring at you" Lucy squealed.

It was Saturday and we were currently in Lucy's apartment getting ready for Gajeel's party. I had on a red dress that went down to mid-thigh and was sort of broken in half at the back. My red hair was straightened (some more) and I had on red flats to complete the outfit. Lucy had a white and gold strapless dress that flowed down to a bit above her knee. Her hair was in a stylish ponytail and she had white shoes.

"We do look gorgeous" I nodded my head as I twirled in front of the mirror.

"Let's go. We can't keep the boys waiting" Lucy said.

We grabbed our purses and went outside to see Natsu and Gray waiting for us. Natsu was Lucy's date and Gray had... no one, except Juvia who was hiding behind a bush. A few minutes later, we arrived at the party. The music was blaring loudly and colourful lights were flashing everywhere.

"I'll be at the cake!" I shouted over the music and I received nods from Lucy, Natsu and Gray.

I made my way through the forest of people and finally made it to heaven. There was a whole assortment of chocolate and cake but I only wanted the strawberry cheesecake. I got a paper plate, spoon and a slice of strawberry cheesecake. My cake was half way done when someone tapped my shoulder. Who interrupted my cake time?

"Erza? May I have my dance?" None other than Jellal said.

My heart dropped... and then shot back again. I almost dropped my cake.

"O-of course" I replied and placed my cake on the table. If anyone takes it, I'll just get another one.

I take Jellal's hand and he leads me to the dance floor. Jellal places his hand on my hip and the other on my shoulder. I awkwardly do the same. Then the upbeat music turned to slow music. Why?! In my peripheral vision, I see Gajeel slow dancing with Levy. Ahh, that's why.

"You look beautiful tonight" Jellal leaned closer and whispered in my ear.

"Thank you. You look good too" I managed to reply without stuttering.

We danced and swayed to the music. It was the best night ever, but it wasn't over.

"Erza Scarlet. Will you go out with me?" Jellal asked.

My feet couldn't move and I couldn't believe that my crush was asking me out. Is this a dream? The music seemed softer and it seemed like there was no one else but us.

"Yes" I replied.

"You are my light and I've liked you for a long time, since you know when. You are beautiful, strong, brave, kind and amazing" Jellal told me. Then he kissed my hand. He kissed my hand!

I started blushing furiously. He's had a crush on me since you know when. I'm guessing he means since we first met, in primary school. That's when I had a crush on him too but I left that primary school in year 2, when Jellal changed personalities.

"Jellal. I-I have liked you since then too. I would love to go out with you" I simply said.

To be honest, I didn't know what girls were supposed to say when a guy asks them out. What do we say? He seemed to like my response as he looked deep into my eyes. It felt like he was staring into my soul and my heart, it was a warm and fuzzy feeling.

I couldn't utter a word or move a muscle when he took a step closer to me and leaned forward. His arms were wrapped around my body and my arms were around his body. My eyes darted to his lips which were inching forward. I could feel his breath on my lips and any minute now, his lips would be touching mine.

"Erza! I'm so happy to see you here!"

Jellal and I quickly sprung apart. Simon was standing there with a smile on his face. That was close, too close, I could have kissed Jellal. The music suddenly seemed louder to my ears and I noticed all the people dancing around us again. Our romantic moment was gone.

"Hi Simon" I greeted him.

"Hello Simon" Jellal said, but I could have sworn I heard him say it with annoyance? 

"Erza, can I dance with you?" Simon asked me politely.

And me being polite as well said "Of course."

"I'll talk to you later, Erza Scarlet" Jellal whispered in my ear and it sent shivers down my spine.

I just stood there as he walked away and disappeared into the crowd of people. Simon held out his hand and I took it. We started to dance but it was more upbeat and lively than my previous dance.

"A nice party, isn't it?" Simon asked. I just nodded and didn't speak.

I don't know how long we danced for but it seemed like forever. My palms were getting sweaty and fatigue entered my brain. I spotted Lucy with Natsu and Gray by the other side of the room so if I needed an escape route, there it was.

Don't get me wrong, I like Simon but not like like. Not like how I like Jellal. Simon was one of my first friends and he went to my primary school, my first one where Jellal went. In year 2, I moved to Fairy Tail Primary School and left my friends behind but they now go to Fairy Tail High School with me.

"Erza, it was nice dancing with you but I have to go. I'll see you at school and we can hang out some other time, okay?" Simon grinned.

"Sure, Simon. It was nice dancing with you too" I hugged him good bye.

He returned the hug and I didn't expect anything else but he kissed me... on the lips. It was a small kiss but still a kiss, my first one too. Before I could say anything, he went out of reach and I saw him meet up with Millianna, Wally and Sho. They were my other friends at my first primary school.

"Erza! Erza!" Lucy's voice shouted from afar.

"Hey, what's wrong?" I caught my friend as she ran into my arms.

"Natsukissedmeandwearegoingonadatetomorrow" she said without taking a breath.

"Whoa, slow down, Lucy" I commanded.

"Natsu kissed me and we are going on a date tomorrow" Lucy told me calmly.

"That's great news! I'm so happy for you" I said. I was thinking of telling her about Jellal taking me out but decided against it.

"Come on, Erza. Let's go home. Natsu is really sleepy and Gray is pretty drunk" Lucy informed me.

Well, better get home quickly. I helped Lucy get the boys outside and on our way home. I was not very fond of parties so I was glad we were leaving. But I couldn't stop thinking about Jellal, like usual. He asked me out but he never said when or what. Jellal was really making my brain melt into strawberry cheesecake. Damn it! I didn't get to finish my strawberry cheesecake.
