Erza's POV

I hummed quietly to myself as I pinned up the big white banner. It was one of my favourite times of the year: The Fairy Tail Fair. It was where everyone went on rides, played games, ate junk food and had lots of fun at our school. The fairs were usually better than the previous ones. I also liked setting it up because you got to blow balloons and decorate the place!

"You know, you seem like a little kid; getting all excited about this" Jellal chuckled.

I rolled my eyes and adjusted the banner I put up. Jellal was putting up some posters for rides and stalls. I got off the stool I was on and went to put up the next banner.

"At least I'm not as bad as them" I told him and pointed at Natsu and Gray. They were blowing up balloons, I mean, supposed to be. All I could see was them running around, balloons popping and balloons flying everywhere.

"True, very true" Jellal replied.

"Stop playing with the balloons!" Lucy shouted at the two boys.

"It was him" Natsu pointed at Gray.

"Yeah right, flame brain!"

"Ice princess!"

I chuckled to myself as their arguing went on and on, with Lucy trying to get them to stop. "It's no use, Lucy."

She sweat dropped but shrugged none the less. As I was putting up a banner, the two boys came back again. A balloon flew past my face which irked me. Not a second later, another one came - and you know that squeaky noise when you let the air out, it was really loud. The balloon then landed on my face.

"NATSU! GRAY!" I shouted as I threw the balloon on the floor.

I turned around and death stared the two boys who were now frozen. Oh they better be scared for what's coming to them. Getting off my stool, I stalked towards them while cracking my knuckles and giving them the most terrifying look as I could.

"You guys know what's going to happen now, right?" I smirked evilly.

"W- We're sorry, Erza" Natsu squeaked.

A scary chuckle escaped my mouth as I stood in front of them. "Never ever mess around with balloons when I am busy. You just made me stuff up the banner and now you're going to pay!"

I grabbed their arms and hurled them into the air. They soared through the sky before landing somewhere outside the school. Lucy and Jellal sweat dropped at my 'over-exaggerating' punishment. At least that would teach them to actually put effort into setting up this fair. Who doesn't like fairs? It has the best games, rides and lollies you could ever imagine.

"Umm... thank you, I think" Lucy said.

I just nodded at her and walked back onto my stool. After pinning up the last corner of the banner, I hopped off my stool to admire my work.

"Doesn't it look great?" I asked Jellal, even though the answer was obvious.

"You didn't even paint it; all you did was pin it up" he paused when I glared at him. "Yes, it looks good. Now, come on. The fair's going to start soon" he said.

I nodded even though I wanted to keep staring at my work. We packed up our equipment and headed to the front of the school where the fair would start. Balloons and streamers decorated the stalls while a balloon made arch covered the entry to the school. As we reached the front, principal Makarov stood there.

"Ah, there you are. Thank you so much for your hard work, Erza and Jellal" the principal said.

"It was no problem" I replied for the both of us.

Then it was time for the fair to open. Makarov opened the gates and the crowd of people waiting patiently outside poured in. Laughter and chatter filled the air as people ran to rides and stalls.

"Come on Jellal! What do you want to do first?" I asked eagerly like a little kid on Christmas day. I could've sworn I saw Jellal roll his eyes but I don't think he would.

"How about that slide?" I suggested.

I pointed at a blow up slide that was tall and wide with lots of people on it. Jellal's eyes widened as he saw it and shook his head. Of course, he didn't want people seeing him going on kiddy rides like that. I rolled my eyes and pulled him there.

"Are you serious Erza? Let's go to something else instead" he said.

"Nope" I grinned at him.

As much as he struggled, I wouldn't let go until we were in the line for the blow up slide. Jellal gave me a pleading face but I shook my head no. I climbed to the top of the slide, always making sure that Jellal was with me.

"Come on, it's not that bad" I said.

"Yes it is; I'm going to look ridiculous" he tried persuading me but no matter how many times he tried, it wouldn't work.

"You mean, we're going to look ridiculous" I grabbed his hand and pulled him down the slide with me.

He gripped onto my hand tightly as we descended down the blow up slide. I laughed as I saw Jellal's face which was showing a bit of fear but he went back to looking emotionless when he caught me staring. We reached the bottom and bounced off the slide.

"Wasn't that fun? Who knew Jellal could be scared of a blow up slide?" I teased.

"I wasn't scared" he denied.

"Sure sure" I rolled my eyes but stopped mid-step when I saw a roller coaster. "Let's go there!"

"Fine" Jellal sighed, knowing he had no choice.

I just smiled innocently and pulled him along to the ride. It was a small roller coaster, but it was colourful and it was the only roller coaster. We lined up behind Gajeel and Levy. When it was our turn, we got into one of the carriages and strapped ourselves in.

Jellal sighed. "Why do we have to do this? There's no poi-"

He was cut off by the ride starting up. Jellal's eyes widened and he automatically squeezes my hand. A laugh came out of my mouth as we were taken to the sky and then back down again. Round and round, up and down we whizzed. Shrieks were heard and people put their hands up in the air with joy, me included. Finally, the ride came to an end and we hopped out.

"I'm never going on that again" Jellal shuddered as he clutched his stomach. "You're liking this, aren't you?" he narrowed his eyes at me.

I just giggled and intertwined my fingers with his. We walked through the cluster of stalls but stopped at one which looked... delicious.

"OMG!" I shouted, causing Jellal to cover his ears.

"Was that necessary?" he asked but I ignored him completely and walked to the sweets stall, as if in a trance.

My feet took me to the sign that said 'Fairy Floss - $3'. Jellal grudgingly followed me and gave me a 'seriously?' face when he saw what I wanted.

"Can we please get fairy floss?" I asked.

"No."

"Pretty please."

"No."

"Pretty please with... fairy floss on top."

"Definitely no."

"Pretty please with-"

"No" he said before starting to walk away.

I grabbed his hand and made him face me. Giving him the saddest puppy dog face I could, I noticed his face started to soften. His eye twitched and he sighed softly, while muttering words under his breath. Any minute now...

"Fine" he gave in.

"YES!" I shouted with joy and punched the air.

I then bought two fairy floss sticks. After paying for it, I went straight to eating - and boy, was it delicious. Jellal wouldn't eat it - or touch it, so I just did what everyone else would do: shove it in his mouth. His eyes widened and he squirmed around but I didn't let go until he swallowed it.

"So... is it nice?" I asked cautiously, as if he was going to kill me any minute now.

His eyes darkened as he glared at me. "It tastes too sweet."

I'll take that as a sign of him liking it.

"Hey Erza! Hey Jellal!" Natsu shouted.

I turned my head to see him running to us, dragging an annoyed looking Lucy. Heh, just like me and Jellal.

"What's up, Natsu?" I asked.

"Look at this! There's a Ferris wheel here!" he shoved a flyer into my face.

I took a step back and looked carefully at the piece of paper. As he said, there was a picture of a Ferris wheel but underneath that, it said 'Ferris wheel at Magnolia Amusement Park'. I sweat dropped at his stupidness.

"Natsu, it's says that the Ferris wheel is at Magnolia Amusement Park, not here. Do you really think they could fit a Ferris wheel in our school?"

"Umm" he laughed sheepishly.

"I told you so" Lucy shook her head at him.

I decided to cheer Natsu up by handing him one of the sticks of fairy floss. He immediately lit up and took it eagerly.

"Thanks so much, Erza" he said between mouthfuls.

"No problem" I laughed.

The four of us just walked around the fair, just chilling. I saw a really awesome stall where you shoot down cans to win a prize.

"Let's play it!" I shouted, causing Jellal to cover his ears.

All four of us played it and I hit down most of the cans. We were close to winning but in the end, the only one who won was Jellal.

"No fair" I pouted.

Jellal picked a big red fox soft toy. It was so cute... but it wasn't mine, sadly. Then Jellal gave me the soft toy and I was really confused. What is he doing? Is he doing what I think he's doing?

"Here. I won it for you" he handed it to me and I slowly hold it.

He must be growing soft since he was never this kind and generous. Did I change him? I hope I did, it was what I wished to do when I was younger. I would stare at the troubled kid in the playground and wish to be his best friend and someone who would chase all the bad in life away.

"Are you sure?"

He nodded his head in response and I thanked him. I hugged my new soft toy super hard until I thought it might break. Yay, I'm so happy I got this new toy. I'll name it... Scarlet. I'm pretty sure you can guess why I named it that. It was red and it was like my hair colour, scarlet.

"Alright! Let's go over to the bumper cars over there" Natsu pointed out to a big track that went in a circle and there were cars on it.

We all agreed and ran off to the ride. When we got there, we noticed Gray and Juvia in the line.

"Hey Gray! Are you going to the bumper cars too?" Natsu asked stupidly.

"What do you think, flamebrain? I'm in the line for it" Gray replied.

"Are you two a couple now?" I asked before the two boys started beating each other up, like usual.

"What?! No, no, no, of course not" Gray and Juvia denied.

I smirked. Then we were next to get on the ride. Everyone ran to quickly choose a good car and I chose a red car. Jellal was next to me in a blue car and the others were scattered around. A loud beeping noise was heard and all the cars shot off into different directions. I drove away from Jellal, since I knew how good he would be.

"Hey Erza" Lucy said as she bumped into the side of my car, very softly if I may add.

I veered away from her only to bump into her harder. She glared at me while I smirked in my head. The glory didn't last long however, when Laxus bumped into me. He should know better than to do that. I got behind his car and bumped him as hard as I could. Laxus turned around but before he could bump into me, he got bumped to the side by a very unhappy Jellal.

"Nobody bumps into my girlfriend and gets away with it" he said.

"Thanks Jellal" I said and drove off, so I could escape my now angry boyfriend and the cocky jock.

On the other side of the track, there was Natsu and Gray battling it out. I smiled and shook my head at their antics, and how Lucy and Juvia tried to stop them. I didn't bother breaking up their fight and instead drove around, chasing Jellal, since I had nothing better to do than that.

"Bet you can't catch me" he teased when he saw I was following him.

I raised an eyebrow at that challenge; he should know better than to challenge me. Pressing harder on the accelerator, I drove around the other cars and caught up to Jellal. I bumped into him and then he moved to the side so he could bump me back.

"Nice one, too bad that will be the only one" Jellal smirked and sped off, before I could reply.

The rest of the time consisted of me chasing and bumping around with Jellal, Natsu, Lucy, Gray and Juvia. A beeping noise sounded again and the bumper cars turned off so we got out. We were laughing and just playing all the games at the fair until we were tired. Jellal slipped an arm around my waist and pulled me closer as we were walking around with the group.

"This has been the best fair of all the fairs we've had" I told Jellal.

"Isn't that what you say at the end of every fair?" he asked, to which I rolled my eyes.

"Yes, but this time I truly mean it."

"So, you didn't truly mean it the other times?"

I frowned in thought. "I did mean them. It's just that, I liked this fair the best because I got to spend it with my boyfriend. I always liked you for a very long time and wanted to be your girlfriend and now that it's true, it feels like a dream; like it's going to slip away through my fingers. Spending this fun night with you and with all my other friends made it extra special."

It was a comfortable silence between us even though we could hear the others chattering ahead. The moon shone brightly overhead while the sky was full of darkness. My scarlet red hair blew in the wind and I clutched onto my two precious people: Jellal and Scarlet (my new red fox).

I stared into Jellal's mesmerizing brown eyes as he kissed me softly.

"Very cheesy... but I like it."
