I let go of Luffy, with a slight blush on my face, when I heard familiar barking in the distance. It was Sugar. She was running toward us, her tounge hanging out, and Luffy's crew was behind her. I handed Luffy back his hat and after receiving it, I swear I could see a mischiveous glint in his eyes. "It's just so you can remember." His voice had a strange undertone I couldn't quite understand. "When I become a pirate king, I have to return this hat to the person who gave me my dream. It's a treasure to me." He smiled and that made me do the same. I felt like I finally found something that will change my life. And I found my treasure, Luffy.

Before I had time to get up, Sugar crashed onto my lap and started licking my face. I giggled, a little grossed out, and stood up. Chopper stared at me, seemingly frightened, while the others had a panicked look on their faces.

"Is something wrong?" I stared at them confused. Sugar barked, while Chopper scratched his head in shame. Nami, on the other hand looked furious by my question.

"Wrong?! Do you have any idea how worried we were when Chopper started crying because he thought you were dead?!" The navigator smacked me across the head and I winced, holding my hurting skull.

"Why would you think I was dead, Chopper?" He sniffed and wiped his teary eyes.

"S-Sug-gar heard you scream..." I didn't know whether to laugh or cry at that. It was true that I had thought I was going to die at that moment, but now it all seemed so stupid and long ago. "What happened?" His big brown eyes stared up at me while he stood close to Sugar like she could protect him.

"Oh it was nothing... I-I just slipped that's all." I lied. I didn't know why I was covering for Luffy. Guess it just came naturally. The crew sighed in relief and Luffy began laughing.

"I pulled her down from that hole." He pointed up and grinned ear to ear. My eyes widened at his idiocity. Why the hell would he say that?! I watched as Sanji kicked Luffy, saying something about 'hurting a lady'. I shook my head and laughed. I should've known this was gonna happen. Nami seperated Luffy and Sanji by giving each of them a soccer punch.

"Would you two stop!" She glared at them both. "The log pose finished recording so we can leave now. It's not like we're gonna get some sleep when Vivi and Carue are still out there."

Luffy frowned and crossed his arms. "What's Vivi thinking? Staying on the island like that. So reckless!" He sulked on the floor.

"Well, it's not like we gave her a choice! We ran to the ship and she wasn't even with us, what do you expect?" Usopp sighed while I started feeling guilty again.

"Who's Vivi? Your crew mate?" They nodded, not really paying attention to me.

"I wonder who should go get her..." Sanji stated. "Luffy's too much of a moron and marimo would get lost. There's no way I'm letting Nami-san do it and Chopper attracts too much attention." He turned toward Usopp, whose knees started shaking in fear, and shook his head. "No he's too much of a coward. I guess I could do it..."

"Candy can do it!" Luffy's voice echoed throughout the cave. I opened my mouth to protest, but then I realized there was no good excuse other than...

"I don't even know what she looks like." Usopp patted my shoulder and laughed, relieved he wasn't a choice anymore.

"R-relax, Candy. She has blue hair and a huge duck. You can't miss her!" He trembled.

"Like hell am I letting a lady put herself in danger!" Sanji wanted to kick the two, but I stopped him.

"It's fine. I live here anyways. It would be stupid to think anyone would hurt me." The blonde calmed down and Luffy yawned. "We should go to sleep and look for her tomorrow." I looked at Nami. "You don't mind sharing your room, right?"

The red head smiled and grabbed my hand. "Not at all."

As we walked to the ship, Sugar kept glancing between me and Luffy. I stared at her confused at what she was trying to accomplish. Was something wrong? I petted her fur to calm her down, but after I did that, I noticed Chopper also looking in our direction. The odd thing was, that everyone else seemed too tired to even have their eyes fully opened, while Sugar and Chopper looked more than awake. I peeked at Luffy to see if he noticed this as well, but the boy looked like he was sleep walking so I left him alone.

I slowed down, so I was walking alongside Chopper and gave him a questioning stare. I couldn't recognize the emotion on his face, but from his voice I figure out he must be excited. "Why is your heart beating so fast?" He giggled.

"I don't know. It's probably still from the shock of falling." And we left it at that.

Hello, guys! Hope you liked this chapter. I know you probably think this was super late and I'm sorry to say I'll only update on the weekends from now on. (I just started school and there are things called priorities.) But don't worry since you'll still get one chapter a week.

P.S: This story starts after Chopper enters the crew and before Alabasta. (I guess I should've put this at the begginig of the story?)
