Chapter One

This story begins after Chopper enters the crew and before the Alabasta (this is the time when Vivi is still with the Strawhats). Hope it's not too confusing.

"Thank you, come by again!" I politely smiled at an old lady who just purchased some jelly beans. She came here often to buy candy for her grandkids. Swiftly, I locked away the money she gave me and bowed to another customer that wanted to buy a lollipop for her son.

When I first decided to open this shop everyone, but mostly my parents, thought it was going to be a disaster. With hard work, I proved them wrong, and now, after two years, my business is better than ever.

My day was going just as usual and I was content working in my place as a cashier for the time. Suddenly the door flew open, with the bell making it's signature ring, and something furry and small ran inside my shop. I let my eyes follow it with curiosity, struggling to recognize the creature. It had short brown fur, blue nose, and was wearing a pink square hat with little horns on each side. I blinked trying to comprehend that it was also wearing pants. It kind of reminded me of a raccoon dog... but I couldn't get the horns.

I had time to grin at it's confused state, before someone decided to smash my doorway into little pieces, leaving me baffled. My mouth was hanging open and eyes spread wide apart, as I watched the stranger enter my life's work. The boy didn't even let me get angry enough to yell at him and just grinned ear to ear while scanning the room for, apparently his pet, which was still running around drooling over the candy. I could only stare at my customers, when they bolted out and away from this boy and his pet.

He dusted off the straw hat he was wearing and began laughing at me, slapping his hands on his thigh repeatedly. My eye twiched and I finally got over the shock. After catching some breath, I stomped towards the brunette, huffing like any normal human being would, after someone destroyed her property. If I wasn't so angry, I might would've laughed at his now scared expression.

"Hey, hey. S-sorry." He stuttered in an unusually adorable voice and my anger immediately dissapeared. I stood up more straight, interested in what he had to say. "I, uh, N-Nami..." I tried not to smirk. "It's her fault!" He pointed to a orange haired female that still stood outside. Nami stepped through the broken doorway and rolled her eyes at the boy, but when she turned to me, her attitude completely changed.

"We are terribly sorry. Whatever can we do to fix this?" She said in a fake sweet voice. "Also, I would be very grateful if, uh, it wouldn't be too pricey." She smiled and I smirked, not really up for arguing with her.

"Do you know how to fix doorways?"

Before she could answer me, their pet ran up to her and began pulling her skirt toward the cotton candy section. "Nami, can I have the blue one? Please~." It begged in a squeaky tone. "Oh, they have a green one too." Nami sweat dropped while I could only gulp. Who the hell are these guys?!

The straw hat boy once again started laughing at my expression, repeating his actions from earlier. Nami finally shook off their talking raccoon dog and answered me. "I don't know how to do it, but we have a crew member that's perfect for the job." She grinned and gave me a thumbs up. "May I use your dendenmushi?"

"Hey, Nami! Can we get these?" My eyes widened at the tower of candy this boy was now carrying. There must have been at least a third of my shop there and how the hell could this thin guy lift so much?! I decided not to question it. They did own a talking raccoon dog. It can't get weirder than that. Nami slapped the brunette across the head and ordered him to put all the candy back to where he got it. Luffy, that's what she called him.

I smiled fondly at his struggling, and while Nami was busy explaining to Chopper (Yes, I eavesdropped. Sue me.), that he could only get one cotton candy flavour, I offered Luffy some help. I took half of his pile and, since all the customers ran away and I had nothing else to do, began putting the candy to it's rightful place. After I was finished I turned around expecting another candy pile, but instead got Luffy lying on the floor and patting his bloated stomach.

Nami gasped and started yelling about having to pay for all of that, but stopped as soon as she heard me laughing. Her stare of disbelief only made me laugh more and join Luffy on the floor.

"Why are you laughing?" He asked in a mouthful while I chuckled.

"It's just... This is like the worst day of my life!" I answered, the smile not leaving my face. "But it's kinda funny also. I've never met someone with such a huge appetite." I patted Luffy's head and turned my way to Chopper. Instead of giving him the packed cotton candy as I should've, I pulled out a cotton candy maker and some colorful sugar. "You've got such a cute raccoon dog!" I giggled when it became excited. Suddenly it's whole demeanor changed and it glared at me.

"I'm not a roccoon dog! I'm a reindeer!" I flinched at it's betrayed tone and offered him an apology.

"Chopper isn't our pet, he's our doctor!" Luffy grinned like only he knew. My eyes widened and I dropped what I was doing to take a closer look at this reindeer. I couldn't imagine him being a doctor, but I kept that to myself. After I finished making the candy, I gave it to Chopper.

"That would be 356 berries, together with all the food Luffy-san ate." Nami's eyes widened and she glared at her two companions. If looks could kill... "The dendenmushi is behind the counter." I interrupted their stare/glare off. The red head only tightly smiled and went to call her friend. In the meanwhile Luffy continued eating and making me wonder how would they actually pay for all of this, because Nami wasn't willing to do so. "Uhm, Luffy-san. You'll have to pay for that." I had no idea whether to laugh or cry, he wasn't going to pay me a thing.

"Miss owner?" Nami called me, still on the dendenmushi."Would it be possible to repay the candy by work? We don't have the money right now because someone spent it all." That made me laugh and after thinking about it, I nodded. Extra help is always good. "Thank you!"

About half an hour went by, with Nami beating Luffy up for eating so much and me playing with Chopper. I never imagined he could be so cute and smart too. These people have a great doctor. A boy, about Luffy's age entered the shop and greeted us. This must be their friend. He introduced himself as Usopp and started repairing my doorway while I took Luffy's wrist to drag him to the kitchen. He seemed confuzed when I put a washing cloth in his hands, so I told him it's to repay the candy he ate. I didn't have a lot of dishes but it was better than nothing, because I could never trust this boy with candy making or money. All of a sudden I felt regret for not just insisting with them giving me money. How will I get through the month?

A loud shattering noise woke me from my thoughts. I was afraid to turn around knowing what I'll see. My shattered dishes.

"Oh, sorry." Luffy apologized in a monotone. I sighed and started to pick up the remains of what was previously a candy jar. Luffy wanted to help me but I slapped his hand away, afraid he might cut himself.

"You should go help your friend." I pointed to Usopp, but Luffy shook his head and grinned. He looked so cute I couldn't refuse him. Damn me and my easy heart! "Then just sit down. I need to get a broomstick for this mess." Before I could stand up, Luffy's arm stretched and grabbed the broom, bringing it to us. My mouth opened and I gasped, petrified. "What the hell was that?!"

"Oh, I'm a rubber man." Luffy stretched his mouth wide apart, something not physically possible. "Wanna try it?" He kept stretching and unstretching his skin. I licked my lips, not really sure if I should do it, but eventually decided to pinch his cheek like he was a toddler. His skin was so soft it made me all warm inside and I blushed.

"That's incredible." This guy never stopped smiling. I kind of liked it. He stood up and swept the floor instead of me. I found myself thinking it would be nice to have someone like that around my whole life, so I quickly shook my head to clear it of the thought. He seemed way too adventurous for my way of living.

"Ya know, your candies are really good. I wish I could eat them every day!" That can't be healthy, I thought. "Candy! I want you to join my crew!" My eyes widened as so many thoughts rushed through my head.

"My name isn't Candy, you know that right?" I chuckled.

"I'm your captain now and I can call you whatever I want!" Luffy answered with a determined expression on his child-like face.

"What kind of crew are you anyways?" He grinned at me, yet again.

"You don't know?" Laugh escaped his lips. "We're pirates!"
