My parents didn't even mention the fact I was nowhere to be found since we had visitors: the Parkers. The atmosphere seemed ok. Rob was discussing with my father and both of them were laughing. Donna was helping my mom putting the table. My bestfriend's mother seemed to have gained some strength since the last time I saw her. She was far away from looking fresh and smiling, but she certainly had gained some peace. I didn't. Julia was sitting on the couch, her eyes focused on her cellphone. My brother was trying to have her attention but she was totally ignoring him. As soon as Donna saw me, she ran towards me to give me a huge hug. I could hardly breathe.

"How are you?" She asked, still holding me.

"I-I can't breathe."

She laughed, pulling me back.

"I'm so sorry."

I gave her a small smile.

"Well I'm... I don't know. I guess I'm trying not to fall out the boat."

"I understand, same thing goes for me. You know what makes it a little bit easier?"

I shrugged.

"Talking."

There it was. The last thing I wanted to do.

"Rob and I have been going to group meetings for a while now. It feels good talking to people who have been through the same thing. And also we're seeing a psychologist as well as a couple counsellor. Alec... Hum. Alec's death drew us apart but we are trying to put things back on track you know."

Alec's death. Alec's death. Alec's death.

This was the only actual thing I've kept on my mind. Hearing it coming out of her mouth made me so angry. How could she say that so easily? I couldn't even think about it. I only nodded, pretending I cared.

"Elena! Dinner will be ready in a sec." Said my mom.

Rob waved at me. I did the same. Julia didn't even blink. I wondered what the hell she was doing here. Thought she was in college. As if she had heard exactly what I was thinking, she raised her head from her phone and turned to look at me.

"I dropped off college."

I frowned, but didn't know what to say. I simply went up in my room.

As I was pulling off my shirt, my little brother came into my room.

"What the fuck Jonas? Get out right now!" I yelled at him.

He immediately ran shouting some "Ewww!" And some "I wish I was blind."

When I was done, I made him come back.

"It's ok now. Don't you ever knock before? Gosh."

"Sorry. Just want to ask if you could give me ten bucks?"

The look on my face immediately showed my answer.

"Please?" He tried.

"Hell no."

"Nine bucks then?"

"Fuck no."

"Pleaseeeeee Lena! You could be the best sister in the entire world."

"As if I even cared. Get out."

"Ok then." He had a sneaky look on his face.

"Are you sure? Even if I told mom and dad about last year?"

What a little dick.

I took 10 bucks out of my wallet and gave it to him.

"Don't you ever threat me ever again you dumbass."

"I love you too."

A little smile appeared on my face. I had created a little demon. As much as he was pissing me off, I was proud.

"Elena? Dinner is ready." Rob came in my bedroom.

"Thanks Rob. How are you?"

He sighed and smiled.

"Let me be honest with you. I'm angry. I tell my wife I'm fine, tell her her group chat and everything help me out, tell her I don't feel any anger. All fake. I kind of would like to revenge him you know. I saw the photo too. It was all over the internet. Poor Alec."

I nodded. He kept going.

"There's an investigation going on. I asked for it, Donna didn't want to but it's the least we can do for him."

I liked he's mentality. I wanted to do the same. Just in little bit more provocative way. And unlike Rob, I knew exactly who did this to Alec.

"I feel the same way. Let me know how the investigation goes."

"Sure. Now let's eat."
