Scarlett

I close my eyes and inhale deeply, my palms damp and my heart fright filled, ''Do I need to repeat myself?'' Dylan speaks, infuriated to the max!

''I - I...M--'' I try calming myself down as he grinds his teeth, ''Scarlett?'' He demands once again. ''A f-friend'' I finally manage to spit out.

''A friend? Outside of the castle? Who you spent your birthday with and arrive this time with???'' He moves in closer daringly. I quickly slip my hand in my pocket remembering the ring I had on, ''Am I not allowed to have a friend that isn't part of the royal blood line?'' Well I had to admit, having this amount of guts deserved a clap, ''What? So you're actually admitting you were out with someone??''

''Yes, it's my birthday Dylan! My last free one! I met up with a few friends, early, and well it was quite late so her brother decided to give me a walk'' I immediately switch my gaze to the floor knowing my expression would surely make him realise I lied, ''Scarle--''

''DYLAN!'' Mum's voice echoes through the castle breaking his sentence. I let out a relief filled sigh, Dylan grabs my hand, ''This ends here, until I hear the real reason for your disappearance, you are not allowed out of this castle! Are we clear?'' His overpowering tone forces me to nod in approval and shortly after, we both dash up the stairs to an over panicked mother.

''He isn't doing well at all'' Mum sighs as we enter the room, ''Scarlett??'' She whispers in an annoyed tone, ''I've dealt with her already'' Dylan replies instantly.

''I need to talk to her privately'' Mum stands up and takes a hold of my hand, dragging me out of the room. ''I don't know what Dylan has told you but I need to make this clear, today, we've found out that you're not really interested in William, your father, didn't handle that news all too good. And when he wanted to approach you, you weren't here. When and how you vanished, we don't know. Scarlett, I'm not going to ask you why you've decided to partake in these rebellious acts. But what I am going to let you know, is that you are a princess, the daughter of a King and Queen. We haven't chosen these titles, it's been bestowed upon us, so whatever we do, is to hold that title up. And what you're doing, is the complete opposite. I will not allow you to behave this way, you chose to marry William! And a princess never goes back on her words, so I'd advise you to start placing yourself in this castle, before we force you to'' She leaves closing the door abruptly.

I stand in complete silence and stillness, unable to defend my actions, ''This is your problem!'' Sarah shouts and pushes me forward, forcing me to my room.

''You're always letting everyone emotionally blackmail you! And you're always falling for it! You never defend your reasons or choices!!'' I cover my eyes with my hands, ''Sarah, you really don't know anything about life''

''Well maybe not life, but I know love when I read it'' a shrewd expression consumes her face, ''What?'' I respond confusedly, she dangles an open letter in the air, taunting me.

''You didn't!'' I shout dissatisfied, how could she open a letter without me being here?? ''I did!'' She moves closer to me, ''Scarlett, if I had to choose, it would be him, and I don't even know him as yet'' She places the opened letter on my dresser and leaves the room.

Completely mind wrecked, I pick up the letter and begin reading,

Dear : Love

Once this letter reaches the castle you'd have probably left to meet me. The reason why I've sent this, is so you know what I feel for you, before I even see you.
I fall short of words when I try explaining the emotions that arouse In me when your letters arrive. Maybe this is crazy, but I feel so close to you, as if everything I've ever waited for was always right here. I don't want to waste time, after meeting me you're going to realise what you mean to me. I just need you to know, it's the most purest form of love any being has ever been consumed in. And now, that love belongs to you.

I wipe away the fully formed tears embracing my cheek and slowly fold the letter in half, knowing that I've just gotten myself in a love that I'd never be able to pull away from..
