New school year, same over protective boyfriend. After the incident with Reggie last spring, sweet pea never left your side. Even during the summer whatever time you didn't spend with him and your friends you would be working at pops which sweet pea insisted on driving you to and from.
You were a well known member of the serpents and everyone including yourself thought you were one of the toughest bitches out there. Ever since sweet pea got more protective of you, you began feeling helpless and weak. You of course didn't tell sweet pea this since you knew he had good intentions and it would just cause a fight. People started noticing the difference in you, everyone except sweet pea. Even jughead's northside friends would ask why you were always quiet.
Only Toni knew why you were so quiet, what you couldn't talk to sweet pea about, you told Toni. As you walked down the halls of riverdale to meet your friends in the student lounge, you were unaware of the sad expression on your face. Once Toni saw it, she immediately got up to hug you leaving the rest of the group confused. When sweet pea asked you what was wrong you just shook your head and said nothing.
"So Amber, we were just talking about how since we are seniors, we wanted to try some new things, you know a senior YOLO moment and the girls and I were thinking, why don't you join the vixens?" Veronica suggest.
"Oh I don't know" you start
"Oh you must Amber, we would love to see you more often." Cheryl chimes in from next to Toni.
"Yeah we barely get to see you outside of school. You're always in your trailer hidden away from everyone. Come on it will be fun" Betty tries to convince you.
"Sure why not" you say smiling. It's true that ever since sweet pea got over protective, you hid in your trailer and didn't really see anyone, Sometimes not even sweet pea. You were sure sweet pea would give you an ear full since he wasn't fond of the vixens and the bulldogs especially but you were done hiding out.
*a couple days later*
You were making your way from cheer practice to pops. Sweet pea was on a job so he didn't drop you off like he would normally do. You were about half way to pops wearing the standard vixen practice outfit which is the thin white and yellow baseball tee along with navy short shorts.
You never really worried when walking alone. You were a serpent and could take care of yourself. it wasn't until three ghoulies approached you that you feared for your life. As a popular serpent, the ghoulies knew exactly who you were and they were out for your blood ever since you first fought them and they could never do anything about it because sweet pea was always with you. They grabbed you and normally you would have fought back but ever since you started viewing yourself as weak, you didn't fight as hard. It was like something in you broke.
Since they didn't have any respect for anyone including women they had no problem beating you. They threw punches and kicked you once you were down on the ground.
"AMBER!" You heard someone shout. You looked up to see fangs and sweet pea running towards you.
"Beat it serpents this is between us and her" one of the ghoulies stops to tell them while the other two continued to beat you.
"The fuck it is thats my girlfriend asshole" sweet pea growls before punching the ghoulie. The ghoulie and sweet pea still fought as fangs took on another one, leaving one to continue to kick you. You stayed there weak and helpless.
"Amber what are you doing? Get up and fight!" Fangs yells at you. You laid there staring blankly at whatever was in front of you, conscious but unresponsive. You continued to lay there while Sweet pea and Fangs beat the ghoulies while the third ghoulie continued to kick you. Suddenly the beating stopped and that is when you snapped out of your trance like state. You looked up slightly to see the ghoulie who spoke to Sweet pea laying on the ground along with the ghoulie who fought fangs.
"If you ever touch my girlfriend again I will do worse to you than what I did to your friend now scram" Sweet pea growls before throwing the ghoulie to the ground. The ghoulie scrambled up and legit booked it, running so fast it was like he was the flash. Sweet pea ran over to you as did fangs.
"Amber are you okay?" Fangs asked
"Princess what's going on, you didn't even try to fight them and I know you're strong enough to at least do some damage, it's not like you to just give up Amber, what's going on baby?" Sweet pea asked with concern in his voice. You let out a small chuckle followed by a groan from the pain.
"Stop lying to yourself pea, if you thought I was the least bit tough you wouldn't be babying me" you say
"Babying you? What are you talking about?" Sweet pea asks
"Well it seems like you two have some stuff to talk about. Call me if you need anything, love you two" Fangs says before awkwardly waving and getting in his bike.
"Thanks Fangs" you smile watching him leave.
"What do you mean babying Amber?" Sweet pea asks again
"You know exactly what I'm talking about, ever since the thing with Reggie you never leave my side" you say irritated.
"Well I'm sorry if I'm just trying to protect you Amber! I'm sorry I love you so much that I don't want anything to happen to you" sweet pea says getting frustrated.
"Pea you know I love you and I know you want to protect me" you said calming yourself "but I don't know ever since you've started protecting me I guess something inside me broke" you say with tears starting to form in your eyes. Sweet peas eyes soften.
"I'm sorry baby I didn't know" he says "I just wanted to protect you" he continues pouting
"I know baby I know" you smile.
"Okay lets go get you to the hospital" he says picking you up bridal style.
This boy may be protective as fuck but you loved him with all your heart.
