"Are you absolutely sure that this was hot dog?" Jughead asked fangs.
"Hundred percent man. They must have snatched him on riot night" fangs said. You, fangs, sweet pea, jughead, Betty, Toni and Cheryl were in a room of thorn hill. It was on the main floor so it wasn't burned to the point where nobody could be in it.
"He looked skinny. I don't think the ghoulies are feeding him enough" fangs said worried for the well-being of the dog.
"We're lucky those animals aren't slow roasting him on a grill" sweet pea said. Anger was present in his voice.
"What do we do jughead?" Toni asked not wanting to spend any more time imagining the scene sweet pea brought up.
"We'd be going behind enemy lines, outnumbered, open to attack from all directions and risking another gang war." He said as if weighing the pros and cons. "No serpent left behind right? That includes our spirit animal. Okay, we're gonna deploy after dark. It's gonna be a stealth mission. It's gonna be quick." Jughead says. Everyone nodding their heads, understanding the plan.
"Jug, last time you went into ghoulie territory, you were beaten within an inch of your life" Betty speaks up worried.
"He'll have backup this time" Cheryl says with her arms crossed
"And we're gonna be quick, Betty. They won't even know we were there." Jughead says.
"Well, then I'm coming with you." Betty says
"No" Jughead quickly says, his voice making it sound like it was undebatable.
"No. Don't you dare tell me that it's too dangerous jug. The serpent queen is a warrior queen. So if you're on the frontlines, so am I." Betty says. Everyone is quiet for a minute before Jughead speaks.
"Okay." He says simply smirking at Betty. "Let's bring hot dog home, shall we?"
"I'm coming too" you say. you loved hot dog and wanted him home so you wanted to help.
"No" sweet pea said in the same tone Jughead did before. You scoff.
"Pea" you warned " I'm coming whether you like it or not"
"Jones a little help here" sweet pea says turning to jughead.
"Honestly sweet pea we need all the help we can get" jughead shrugs.
"Un-fucking-believable" Sweet pea mutters before storming out.
*later than night*
You hear hot dog whimpering and it breaks your heart.
"It's been an hour and no sign of anyone." Toni says
"Alright. Sweet pea, y/n, you guys keep a look out" jughead says. You groan slightly because you want to do more. You can see sweet pea smirking slightly.
Jughead starts heading over to hot dog while everyone waits behind. Just as he breaks the chain, lights turn on. Everyone's breath hitches for a moment.
"Hiya jonesy" penny says as she walked out with a group of ghoulies behind her. Jughead throws the wire cutters on the ground. "Welcome back to the south side."
Betty takes at step forward but Cheryl pulls her back. "Not yet cousin" she says.
"I thought this mangey mutt might get you to show up" penny says. It's your turn to try to get up but sweet pea puts a hand on your shoulder keeping you down. "We need to talk"
"No, we don't,penny. I'm here for the dog." jughead says
"If you didn't want trouble, why have you been sending spies all summer, trying to get in our business? Back off. Unless you want a replay of riot night" penny says putting everyone on edge. you look to sweet pea confused. What spies? What the hell is happening?
"Yeah, I've been sending scouts. I was looking for hot dog. Now that I've got him, we're good" jughead says. You wish that was the end of it. But it wasn't.
"Not so fast. Your jacket. The south side isn't yours anymore. That means you're no longer the south side serpents." Penny says. This bitch really wants to fight over a jacket? All you wanted was hot dog for fucks sake.
"Really penny? A jacket?" Jughead asks
"We could always take it off your limp dead body. Oh I also heard ponytail's a serpent now, your north side queen.  Maybe we'll go after her next." penny threaten. You see Cheryl's hand tighten on Betty's shoulder.
"Fine" jughead says "you can have the jacket as long as you and the Ghoulies stay out of the north side."
"Oh you don't get to make demands" a ghoulie who you don't care enough to know his name says while stepping towards jughead. At that moment, Cheryl unleashes an arrow at his shoulder.
"Cheryl!" Jughead screams almost like he wants her to stop.
"Told you I was in the mood for some hell raising" Cheryl says simply with an arrow still loaded in her bow.
"That's it. Just kill em all" penny says.
"Cheryl aim your next arrow right between penny's eyes" jughead says. Fangs and sweet pea were about to go to jughead but stop in their tracks. Cheryl
Re-aims her bow. Penny stops the ghoulies as they start walking towards us. "You and your ghoulies take one more step, she's gonna release that arrow. Cheryl doesn't miss" jughead threatens.
"Congratulations, you've just made the north side fair game."penny says obviously pissed she lost this round. Without another word, jughead leads hot dog away from the ghoulies. Everyone starts getting back in the truck as Betty calls for hot dog to come here.

It was a long car ride home. In silence, you drop jughead and Betty and hot dog off at Betty's house and fangs, Cheryl and Toni at Cheryl's place. You and sweet pea head back to your place.
"You're mad at me" you says as you walk into the house.
"No I'm not" he says uncompellingly (idk if this is a word but you can guess what it means)
"You can't lie to me" you say, not making eye contact.
"Fine ok! I'm pissed! We could have been attacked. You could have gotten hurt!" Sweet pea yells.
"But I wasn't" you say back calmly
"But you could have been! I mean god y/n! As your boyfriend it is my job to protect you and you're making it so fucking hard to by putting me in situations like this! I love you too damn much to lose you!" Sweet pea yells not realizing what he just said.
"You love me?" You ask smiling ear to ear. His face softens he steps towards you and cups your face.
"Of course I love you" He says with a soft smile
"I love you too" you whisper looking into his eyes.
" just please promise me you won't fight me when I'm just trying to protect you. When I tell you to stay out of situations please just stay out of it" his face turns serious as he begs.
"Fine I promise" you say "but I make no promises when it comes to dogs" you add
"Y/n" sweet pea whines.
"Sweets you're gonna have to deal with it. As much as I love you, I love dogs more" you said with a slight giggle. You peck his lips before heading upstairs to your bedroom leaving sweet pea looking confused and almost hurt... and somewhat annoyed.
