There's was nothing Evelyn Harper hated more than liars.

Which was ironic because she had technically been lying to everyone she knew about who her baby daddy was.

Technically, she wasn't lying, just withholding information from her closest friends and family members— but when they did ask she avoided the question entirely.

After years of PR training and just perfecting the art of dodging questions, Evelyn could weasel her way out of almost every question about the one and only— Rudy Pankow.

She currently stood on the red carpet at an event Dawn had practically forced her to come to. Claiming, it would be nice to "have a friend there." Even if Evelyn had to desire to attend the event at all. It would be her first time out at a real event with lots of people since Dahlia was born. It was weird being back, but deep down she knew that she was in her element here.

But that being said, Evelyn would not be the one to take the spotlight away from her friend.

"What brought you here tonight?" A female reporter held up a microphone to Evelyn with a chipper smile.

Evelyn looked around for Dawn and smiled when their eyes met. "Dawn invited me—" Evelyn mentioned to the blonde, waved vibrantly. "—and i'm so proud of her." and even though Evelyn was expert at redirecting the conversation, she meant every word she was saying.

The reporter nodded and then pulled the microphone back. "We known Dawn has just gotten out of a relationship, so what about you?" the reporters eyes narrowed and Evelyn sighed to herself.

"At home, me and Lia are living our best lives together. We've been visiting my mom a lot on the farm," Evelyn trailed off to talk about her mom's farm and how Dahlia is doing at home, almost seeming to forget that mention of a relationship.

Evelyn saw the look on the reporters eye when she switched the topic abruptly, and it wasn't of annoyance, but of understanding.
