The night was quiet, except for the ticking sound made by the small alarm clock on the table beside the bed every second without a rest.

Taehyung was on the bed, covering himself under the white duvet and listening to the ticking clock to lure himself to sleep but he couldn't, it didn't helped him at all.

Letting out a sigh, he removed the duvet from him to sit instead, his back resting on the headboard.
The room was dark but the dim moonlight that peaked through the window was bright enough to make the big black bag lying on the floor still visible.

Yeah. He, somehow, succeeded in opening the lock.

How?
Well, it was after trying almost every possible three digit numbers when he got another idea to open it. He didn't really want to go through someone else's phone, though it's basically his now, he checked Taeun's phone to see her birthday and luckily-easily enough, the code was set as her birthday.

That's how he got changed to a night dress, though it was very uncomfortable to wear for him.
But that's not what's bothering him.

Taeun, she's really a strange person. Even after trying so hard to know about her, Taehyung really couldn't find any clue even at the end of the day; about her real home, her parents or family or relatives or friends, nothing.

The only thing he noticed is that she must be searching for a job since there's a history of her contacting that cafe, and she is possibly on a debt but he's not that sure about it. The only one who can answer his questions would be Jungkook but he can't ask him either.

"Should I try going to the lady who shouted at me on the phone this morning? But what if Taeun was actually on a debt and I get into trouble instead? Then... that means I don't have anyone to ask to."

"Ughhh!! This is driving me crazy!" Taehyung ruffled his hair, which of course is in a mess by now, only to realize he said the last line out loud when he heard a rustling sound by the next room.

Yeah. Jungkook didn't come back to the room since he left and slept on the couch in the next room.

Is that only for that day? Or does he not sleep on the bed with his girlfriend before too? But they're dating and living together, right? Right? But what's with this awkwardness between them? Did they fight or something? But it doesn't look thay way either.

It's not that he want Jungkook to sleep with him on the bed, definitely not. It's actually good that they're sleeping separately because it's going to be so uncomfortable for him if they actually were on the same bed.
But what's been bothering him is why the supposed couple is sleeping separately.

He thought he just need to know about Taeun to live as her but there are so many things he's confused of about her life. It's not so simple. It's obscured how she lived such complicated life so far, and now, he had to live the rest of her life.

After staring at Taeun's bag for a while, he couldn't resist from bringing it to the bed. He was curious to death and he thought, just maybe, he could find something from the bag that she locked so securely.
He turned on the phone torch instead since he didn't want to turn on the lights and make it obvious to Jungkook.

Taking a deep breath before opening the zip, Taehyung finally opened the bag. But he couldn't find anything peculiar except for some clothes when his hand rummaged through it.

He almost gave up if he didn't find the wooden photo frame at the bottom of the bag, it was an old photograph of a man and a woman with a little girl in the middle, whom he assumed them to be Taeun and her parents.

"Should I go search these two people first?" He sighed as he fell back on the bed, eyes looking at the ceiling.

So much happened in just one day and all of them are confusing, tiresome, stressful, unrealistic, and unbelievable.

How he wished it was all a dream and wake up back to being himself when the morning comes.

But as much as he wanted everything to be a dream, guess it was all indeed a reality he never wanted to accept—he realized that when the creaking sound of Jungkook opening the closet made him flinched and awake from his sleep.

It was already morning. He don't remember when he fell asleep, even the bag was still on the floor in front of the bed with the zip open.

Well, guess it's his reality for now and he has to accept it even if he don't want to.

He looked at Jungkook who was trying to put on a shirt from the closet, facing him his back. And that reminded him as to why the other would get ready early. Yeah, Jungkook was supposed to go for an interview.

"When is your interview?" He asked while getting down from the bed which made Jungkook to turn back and smiled at him.

"Oh? You're up?" Jungkook said, his hand busy buttoning his shirt, "the interview is at 11:30am. There's still about 2 hours but the venue is far so I need to take the bus for an hour and I need to report there 30 minutes earlier."

"Then, when are you leaving? Now?"

"Yeah."

Taehyung nodded, "well... then... all the best, I guess."

The way Jungkook's smile grew at that, it kinda made him feel... something he couldn't word out. He don't even know why he felt that way and what that feeling was, but at some point, in between the unknown feeling, there was happiness, a joyful pleasure to see that smile on Jungkook's face.

Is Taeun still here? Was she happy to see Jungkook's smile? Was that her emotion that he felt? Is that why he couldn't tell what that feeling was? Because there's no way he would feel that way for a man, a stranger he know nothing about.

So many questions in his head while he scribbled aimlessly with a pen on the piece of blank paper he found on the table.

Jungkook already left for his interview but Taehyung was still drowned in the unanswered questions about that unfamiliar feeling he felt.
It bothered him because he could still see the way Jungkook smiled at him even when he close his eyes.

"Okay. Alright. Taehyung, get it together," Taehyung tapped his own face with his palm to let himself come to his sense before shifting his eyes to the photo frame he found inside the bag.

The photograph, as Taehyung could see, all three of them were in front of a carousel in an amusement park, the little girl smiling brightly with her little hand holding a big cotton candy—they looked happy.

"But if they're really her parents, where are they now? She doesn't even have their contact number saved. Are they on bad terms or something? Or, are they even alive? But whatever it is, where do I go or to whom do I ask to find them? There has to be a way, right? But what is that way? Ugh! It's so frustrati-"

It was already frustrating for him but it gotta get worst, his knee banged hard on the drawer knob when he tried to get up.

He was so ready to scream his lungs out to let out the frustration, he could've actually do it if not for the door bell he heard just then.

He groaned as he walked towards the door to open it, just to find a delivery man with a box.

"Taeun-ssi, right? Here is your package. Please sign here."

Taehyung almost wrote his own name for the signature if not for the man mentioning her name beforehand.

He put the box on the bed, sighing and staring at it while debating whether to open it or not since it was Taeun's package. But it's not like she'll be back to open it either.

He sighed again as he took the penknife, he finally decided to open it. Well, who will come to open it if it's not him anyway.

He thought she might've ordered new clothes for her to wear since those she had in her bag all seemed to be old, even the one he was wearing at the moment had already faded its color, but what to do? It was the nicest one among all in the bag.
He was expecting something else even if it wasn't new clothes but the last thing to be expected would be wool and knitting needles, and there it was.

"What is this? Was she really planning to knit and wear?" He signed for the nth time.
"Isn't it better to just buy one woolen sweater if she wants one? Why put so much effort anyway? If it was me, I would never sit and knit. I'd rather give that time to some extra sleep," he murmured to himself while putting back the wool and the needles inside the box and kept it inside the closet.

While he was at it, he put the things from Taeun's bag inside the closet as well, Jungkook already gave permission to use the other side anyway.

Never thought he would actually get tired just from arranging the closet, Taeun's body was too thin with zero stamina, something he'll never get used to.

"I really need to eat more and do some workout so this body will gain some weight because what is this? I barely did anything but I feel so tired like I just climbed a freaking mountain. Ugh!"
He plopped down the bed, closing his eyes as he tried to catch his breath.

The day went faster than Taehyung expected. He spent the rest of the day by lying on the bed- the only thing he really needed.
For the past two years, since he got his job and started working in the company, the only thing he wished he could have was a plenty of rest and good sleep. The only time he could rest was on weekends before but now that he finally can, eventhough it's not weekend, he felt so relaxed for the first time in a while.

"Woah! I can't believe I slept for 7 hours straight," Taehyung yawned as he dragged his legs towards the kitchen to drink water, eyes half closed.

That's when he realized again that he's not in his apartment now, because what do you mean he's in balcony instead of kitchen? He surely turned left from his bedroom, which is supposed to be kitchen in his apartment, but it's a balcony when he turned left now.

The sky was already getting darker when he woke up. Usually, it's the time he get off from work everyday. If he wasn't in Taeun's body now, he would've been driving back to his apartment like usual. He would've been living his normal life if it wasn't for the accident.

Breathing in the air deeply, he was about to go back to the room but, "OH MY GOODNESS!! You startled me!" he jolted when he saw Jungkook quietly sitting alone in the dark by the corner of the balcony.
"What are you doing here in the dark?"

"Oh? You woke up?"

It was dark, but Taehyung could tell Jungkook was still giving him a smile.

"It's rare for you to sleep that much. So I thought I should just let you sleep more. You needed that sleep. You always look tired, y'know?"

Well, that's true though, ever since he's in her body, maybe because she's thin and weak, he felt nothing but lack of strength and tiredness all the time.

"Oh right, how was your interview?"
And Taehyung instantly regretted asking the question when he saw the way Jungkook hung his head down after giving him a faint smile.

"I failed," Jungkook stared down at his own toes, "they said I'm not suitable for what they're looking for."

Taehyung knew how hard is it for people to get a job and work in a company. He failed too, once or twice, before getting his current job. But he didn't know what to say to comfort the other—he's not good at such things. So he just walked towards Jungkook to sit beside him.
"You'll make it one day. Don't worry. Just... never give up," he thought he should at least say something to encourage him.

"I know. I'm still waiting for the day I finally make it. Though I don't even know when," Jungkook just chuckled as if it's not a big deal while saying that, but his eyes that were staring blankly at nowhere in the dark sky definitely tell otherwise.

"Are you... are you alright?"

Jungkook's eyes finally left the dark sky and turned to look at the worried eyes looking at him, something which was definitely brighter than the dark sky.

"I'm alright. It's not like this is my first time to fail an interview. I'm kinda used to it, getting disappointed everytime, I mean."

"Yah! Don't ever feel used to failing, okay? Once you get used to it, you always tend to fail next time as well. You need to keep in your mind that you'll do even better next time."

Don't know which part was funny in what he just said, but Jungkook laughed, and this time, his laugh wasn't a mask of disappointment or sadness but a genuine laugh one does when they're happy. His eyes looked brighter than before.

"I'll keep that in mind for my next interview. Thank you," Jungkook smiled but with a little frown, "and... also sorry... for making you worry and for involving you in this-"

"This person, yah! What do you take me for? Am I not allowed to involved? Were you trying to endure it alone? What is the use of being your girlfriend if I can't even worry about you?"

A moment of silence until Taehyung gulped down after realizing his own words he just said. Can't believe he just said that, no, can't believe it was him who said that.

"See? You do care for me," Jungkook smiled, his eyes getting even more brighter after hearing those words. "Usually, whenever something like this happens, you always stared at me without saying any words. It's always so hard to tell what you're thinking but I could still tell you were worried only from your eyes. But now that you finally said it to my face, it feels kinda strange but I feel happy, too. Y'know I always wished you could say out loud what's in your mind sometimes."

Well, eventhough it was a bit embarrassing at first to say those cringe lines out loud, it turned out pretty well since it definitely helped Jungkook to relax... and smile.

Yeah. Jungkook looked happy to hear those cringe lines, and at that moment, his smile seemed to be all what mattered to Taehyung, and for some reason, he was willing to say more if it takes for one more smile from Jungkook.
