Taehyung put the groceries they bought inside the fridge one by one as he wait for the another call to pick up. This time, it's Jungkook he's calling because it was taking too long for him to come back.
"Hello?! Tae?! What's wrong? Is everything alright?"
Taehyung frowned when he heard Jungkook's surprised and yet concerned voice, a little too much concerned for his liking to be honest.
And it's... annoying.
Like, what's there to be so concerned about his girlfriend who is in home when he's actually the one who's still not back home?
"Calm down okay? I called to ask if you got your wallet or not."
Silence for a good couple of seconds.
"Hello? Are you listening?" Taehyung brought the phone away from his ear to see if the call is still going, "are you still there? Hello—"
"No. I'm listening. I am. I'm just... I'm just surprised you called. It's first ti—"
"Why is it even surprising? Now tell me if you got your wallet or not. And why are you taking so long? It's not like the store is far."
Silence for another couple of seconds.
"Yeah. I got it and I'm already back here. I'm by the staircase now."
"Oh. Alright then– oh? There's no egg here?"
"Egg?"
"Nothing. I was craving for egg rolls but there isn't any egg so nevermind. Just come quic—"
"I'll get you egg now. Wait for me. Okay?"
"Huh? What? No wait—"
Taehyung facepalmed himself as he massaged his forehead when Jungkook hung up the call immediately after saying that.
"I shouldn't have said that out loud. Didn't he say he's already by the staircase? Did I just make him go back again? It's hot outside tho," Taehyung looked out the window.
It was indeed very hot outside that day.
And not long after, Jungkook arrived home, with a crate of eggs.
"Why did you buy that many?"
Taehyung followed the other going straight to kitchen to keep the eggs in the fridge.
"So you can eat whenever you want?" Jungkook smiled as he closed the fridge leaving the necessary ingredients to be used for making egg roll out on the table. "Just tell me right away if you want anything else. Just like you did now. It makes me happy when you ask me for something."
Taehyung stood there, staring at Jungkook—he was sweating and his face was red, probably from walking under the hot sun to and fro, he looked tired. But he was still smiling while washing the vegetables.
"You don't have to do it. I can do it myself."
But Jungkook just smiled as he made him sit on the chair, "I know you can do it but I want to cook for you. So sit here and wait."
It's the first day Taehyung got to know Jungkook, but there's one thing he could be so sure of— that Jungkook seemed to be a very gentle person from how he has been acting towards him eventhough it's obvious that his girlfriend's behavior is definitely strange.
He might've somehow already noticed the change in his own girlfriend's behavior, because there's no way how Taehyung's behavior is just the same with Taeun's. And if he didn't noticed, he must be an idiot.
But if he did notice, why didn't he say anything about it till now? Or, is he waiting for his girlfriend to explain herself? It's a sure thing he must already have so many questions in his head for her.
Not that Taehyung wanted him to ask, because he won't be able to give any answers for that except for some stupid excuses. He had to hide the truth from Jungkook anyway.
But it's kinda frustrating him by the fact that Jungkook didn't ask him anything, and what's even more frustrating is that, he himself don't know why it annoys him so much.
"You won't ask me why I ran to the hospital?"
He must have gone crazy for asking this by himself. It's like he's digging his own grave by questioning something he can't even answer.
"Because you won't tell me why anyway."
That's what Jungkook answered and it somehow made Taehyung feel relieved that he won't have to think of excuses, but it still bothered him at the same time.
Why would Jungkook think his girlfriend won't tell him? Are they not close enough to tell about each other's life? But he said they were dating since 2 months, and why would they start living together if they're not close enough?
He has no idea about the relationship the two had and how they used to treat each other before, and he has no idea how to act towards Jungkook so he won't notice the one in front of him is not his real girlfriend.
"But I do think you're kinda different since this morning. You don't normally speak much as you do today. I think you spoke more word today than you ever did in the past one week."
Taehyung looked at how Jungkook chuckled after saying that while stirring the eggs with a hand blender.
And from what Jungkook just said, one thing he got to know about Taeun is that she don't speak much. And that made it clear why Jungkook expected she wouldn't tell him even if he asked. Maybe she was an introvert or something?
But didn't it click to Jungkook on why his girlfriend who doesn't speak much suddenly became talkative?
"Then... don't you find it strange?"
A sane person will never ask this unless he wanna get caught but there he goes.
"Why? Do you want me to find it strange?"
"No– I mean–"
"Because I like it more when you speak," Jungkook smiled, shifting his eyes from the bowl to Taehyung. "I always wanted you to talk to me more, y'know. It makes me think you're comfortable with me. Don't always keep everything to yourself. Share it with me, whether it's about your problems or good news, I'm here to listen no matter what."
For some reason, at that moment, Taehyung felt like he could hug the man in front of him.
Him getting into an accident, him entering to an unknown woman's body, him unable to return to his own body, him being cheated on by his girlfriend, him having to live as a complete stranger— he could've poured out all the things that had been troubling him to Jungkook while hugging him, but he can't do that.
How he wished at least someone would listen to him, someone who would understand his frustration and feelings, but now when a person finally asked him to share his problems and is ready to listen, he couldn't even utter a word.
He didn't realize he had been sitting in silence for a long time, dazed out, until a plate with beautifully cut slices of egg rolls placed in front of him.
"It's ready. You can start eating."
After a deep breath to gather himself together when Jungkook sat down in front of him, Taehyung smiled with a nod as he put a slice in his mouth, and it was the tastiest egg roll he ever had.
"I like how your eyes always gets wider whenever you eat something good. So I'll take that as you like my egg rolls."
Taehyung paused chomping when Jungkook chuckled while looking at him to say, "it's not only 'something good', it's the best one I ever had. The one I make is nothing compared to yours."
"I should try yours someday then," Jungkook smiled as he watched the other eat while taking another slice for himself as well.
"You're really a great cook. You can open a restaurant and be a chef. What do you do by the way? Any job?"
Taehyung asked without thinking much but he noticed the way Jungkook paused his hand from taking another slice at the question and the room was filled with an awkward silence.
Jungkook who was too surprised that after two months of them dating, his girlfriend finally asked a question about his work, and Taehyung who froze after realizing what he just asked, he thought he asked something Taeun might've already know about it, both of them just stared at each other in the silence.
Taehyung almost bring up another topic as an excuse to break the silence but,
"I have another job interview tomorrow."
Taehyung noticed how Jungkook happily answered. He didn't understand why the other was so happy about it but it somehow let him escape from getting caught.
"Ahh? Ok. Then, do your best tomorrow. Hwaiting!" Taehyung grinned with his fist up while Jungkook thank him with a chuckle.

Taehyung took a deep breath to gather himself as he look at his own reflection on the foggy washroom mirror. It always reminds him who he is now no matter how much he try to ignore that fact, and all his stress would come back to him all over again everytime he sees himself on the mirror.
"Even washing hair has become a stressful thing to do now," he sighed as he tried to wrapped a towel over the long hair after his shower.
Don't know why is he even thankful but thankfully, Jungkook wasn't in the room when he came out of the washroom.
He was still wrapped by a robe as he opened the closet. He was about to take one of the shirt hanging there when he remembered the way Jungkook reacted when he saw him wearing his clothes.
It's not that he minds actually but seemed like Jungkook does, because it would be his girlfriend wearing his clothes to Jungkook afterall. So it's understandable why he reacted that way.
But that being said, another thing he noticed is that, the closet was filled with men's clothes. It's strange because there has to be woman's cloth if they were already living together, right? But there wasn't any even after searching the whole closet.
"I'm sure she was wearing a dress when I woke up to her body this morning. Then where is her clothes?"
That's when he realized the room never had anything that belongs to Taeun. Nothing. "Didn't she bring anything when she moved in to her boyfriend's house?"
"What are you searching there?"
He flinched when Jungkook entered the room with a glass of water in his hand. He was in a blue pyjama while his round glasses covering almost half of his face.
"Uh... my... my clothes. I just showered so I was gonna change into something," Taehyung faked a grin but Jungkook frowned his eyebrows, kept the glass of water from his hand on the table, gave him a confused look before walking towards the corner and dragged out a black bag.
"You kept all the things you brought in this bag, didn't you? I already gave you the other side of the closet so you can keep your clothes but you still insisted on keeping them inside it."
"Oh? Is that so?"
Taehyung mumbled on his own as he crouched down on his knee trying to open the bag but the zipper was locked. He cleared his throat when he noticed how Jungkook kept looking at him when he couldn't open the lock. How could he even do it when he don't know the code of the lock?
"What is she even keeping inside to be locked so securely?"
If this goes on, at this point, Jungkook must be thinking something is really weird with his girlfriend. Of course he would. Because everything's already weird since morning; for Jungkook, and for him as well.
"What happened? You forgot the code?"
Well, not actually. In fact, he don't even know what the code is.
"Don't be suspicious. Don't be suspicious. Don't be suspicious. Please. Please. Please."
Taehyung kept chanting in his mind, because any word from his mouth right now could mess things up, it's risky even if he say he forgot the code.
He flinched when Jungkook crouched down next to him and he couldn't even meet the eyes which are still on him.
He thought he was done for, he thought he messed up, he thought he was caught. But he never expected Jungkook to touch his face to caress it gently.
That's when he finally looked at him where he found the pair of teary eyes looking at him with a faint smile.
"I understand, I'll leave so you can open it when I'm not around. Just change quickly. And dry your hair properly before going to bed. You'll catch cold if you stay like that for long. Good night."
Taehyung plopped down to sit on the floor just after Jungkook left the room, his knees gave up crouching from all the nervousness. He tried to breathe deeply to calm himself down.
He's saved. It's good that Jungkook didn't looked suspicious or anything.
He should be happy that he's saved.
But for some reason, he couldn't forget those tearful eyes that he just saw on Jungkook, and the faint smile he didn't know the meaning of.
