"Here, look, here's your best friend. It's Jimin."

Taehyung just stared at the man grinning widely. Best friend? So at least she had a best friend, huh? But why she didn't even have his contact number saved in her phone? Can he really trust this person? He seemed like a decent person but who knows?

"Oh? Your bracelet... where's your bracelet? You didn't wear it today?"

"What bracelet?" Taehyung almost didn't get what the other was saying until he remembered there was actually an old bracelet on Taeun's wrist when he first woke up in her body. "Ahh... that bracelet? It was uncomfortable so I took it off."

"You... you took it off? You? Really?"

Taehyung just blinked confused at the man getting surprised at that. Like, why would he even react that way? It's just an old bracelet.

"But you never take it off no matter what. You always wear it everyday."

So she never take that off? Why though? Was it her favorite? But he didn't know any of that. He's not used to wearing such accessories on his wrist except for a watch and it was getting really comfortable while taking shower so he just took it off and never wore it back again.

"Well, it was old anyway. I can get a new one later."
He said that without thinking much, because isn't it usual thing to buy a new one if it's old? He thought like that, too, not knowing how it could messed things up, because he's now being grabbed on his wrist tightly by the man, eyes piercing down at him.

"You... you're not Taeun. Am I right?"

Taehyung felt a sudden chill at the question, his knees felt weaker, his heart raced in fear, he couldn't even moved an inch.

"H-how... how did you know?"
He could've just find an excuse and pretend as Taeun, but he knew it won't be possible to fool the man, there's already certainty in those eyes that he knew it wasn't her.

"I was right then. I was trying to make sure but I knew you're not Taeun. Because there's no way she would take off her mother's bracelet from her wrist."

Taehyung shut his eyes closed in defeat, he can never win in this now. He knew he'll definitely get caught one day if he's not careful, but he never expected it to be this soon.

Now what? What will happen to him now that his truth is revealed? Will he be punished by the grim reapers for not being careful with extra years to be in coma?

Lucky day he says. Screw that. Of course it's definitely going to his unluckiest day list.

"Tell me. Who are you? Why are you in her body? Where is she?"

Taehyung hitched when the grip on his wrist tightened till it was starting to hurt, and the scratches on his hand weren't helping him either. "Okay, alright. You're right, I'm not Taeun. I'll tell you everything. Just... just let go... it hurts."

He didn't expect the man to let his hand go that quickly, and definitely never expected him to change his expression from furious into worried when he saw the red marks of his fingers on the wrist from his tight grip.

"Sorry, I-" Jimin closed his eyes, sighing at how he almost lost his temper, and breathed out to calm himself.
"Look, I don't wanna hurt her. Whoever you are, I don't care but this is still her body, and I don't wanna see even a scratch on her skin. So just come with me, I'll treat that wound on her hand first. It must hurt. But you have to tell me everything later. Okay?"

Taehyung just sighed as he followed Jimin inside the car, he had no other choice, he can't even run away.

Except for the little hitches Taehyung let out whenever the cotton swab with antiseptics touched the wounds, there was silence inside the car while Taehyung stared at the man carefully putting ointment over his wounds and bandaging neatly.

"It's done. So now..." Jimin starts, keeping the first aid kit away, eyes fixed on the other who almost jolted at his gaze. "Tell me. About who are you, why and how did you get in her body, where is she right now, everything."

Taehyung bit his lips, hesitating to speak, because he don't know what will happen to him if he tell who he is. Can he even tell anything to anyone? Would it be alright?

But he knew he had no other choice when Jimin gestured him to look at the locked door-it's like he's saying 'there's no way out until you tell me'. Eventhough the man appears to be calm with his delicate looks, eventhough he's gentle with his words, there's something about his gaze that can make chills run down Taehyung's spine to the point he won't even dare to try escaping or find excuses in front of him.
That's how he ended up telling Jimin everything he wanted to know-from his accident to how he ended up in Songjeong-dong-everything.

But as he speak, everything sounds completely unrealistic for anyone to take it seriously, but that's what happened for real.

Yeah, any other person would definitely laugh at what he just said and call him crazy- that's how stupidly unrealistic it sounds.
He don't know why Jimin believed every single word he said so instantly as if it's a usual thing that happens normally.

It's even surprising that Jimin looked so serious while listening to whatever Taehyung said without a complaint. Of course he would be serious, it's about his best friend afterall. But it's absurd to see a grown man just going along and believing such things that even kids nowadays will find it hard to believe.

Eventhough it sounds unrealistic and stupid, Taehyung always wished he had someone who could listen to him pouring out about the things that happened to him, someone who understands his mishaps, someone who won't call him crazy for his story. And now that the someone he wished he had is finally here, he felt like he could finally breathe freely, like something heavy just lifted down from his head.

But looking at Jimin trying to swallow down his tears to what he just heard, Taehyung felt so sorry for everything that happened because of him.

He always agonized for what happened to himself, but never actually concerned about how those who know Taeun would feel if they got to know what happened to her.

"So... you mean you need to live as her for the next two years?" Jimin finally spoke, eyes fixed on his own fingers tapping over the starring wheel, and Taehyung nodded as an answer.

It took a couple of minutes of silence for Jimin to finally gather himself and look up to meet Taehyung's eyes.
"I... I'll help you."

"Huh? W-What?" Taehyung almost thought he heard that wrong. He expected Jimin to resent him or get angry on him for what he did to his best friend but never thought he would heard that from Jimin.

"You said you need to live as her and do the things she was supposed to do, right? I'll help you, whether it's something you need to know about her or in doing the things she was fated to do, I'll help you so at least her life will be complete. I don't know who you are or what kind of a person you are, but if I help you, can you promise me that you'll live to the fullest and let her life be filled with happiness for the rest two years?"

Sadness, hesitancy yet certainty, sorrowful yet hopeful-all were visible in Jimin's voice when he asked that to Taehyung, it all shows Jimin really do care for Taeun, and that made Taehyung to believe that he can really get through this if there's someone like Jimin beside him.

"I will. I promise."

It's a promise, an assurance to Jimin from Taehyung and to himself that he'll make Taeun's life better.

There was silence again, but it wasn't awkward this time, instead, the silence was like a moment they gave each other to tranquilize their minds from all things that just happened, and it indeed did relax them.

"Can I ask you something?"

Taehyung jolted up at Jimin's question which finally broke the silence. "Yes, of course."

"Umm... are you male or female?"

"Huh?"

It wasn't only Taehyung who was shocked at the question, Jimin himself was, too, shocked at his own question, because he worded it in a way like he's asking the gender of an animal.

"No! No! I mean... were you a man or a woman before you became Taeun?" Jimin nodded at himself as he corrected.

"Oh! Well, I'm... I'm a man."

"WHAT? You're a man?!" Jimin almost yelled. "Then... you-" Eyeing up and down to the other's body, his nose wrinkling, his face clearly tells what he was trying to say without a word.

"Hey!! I'm not a pervert, okay?" Taehyung quickly defend himself just when he get what the other was thinking.

"That's good then. But don't ever think of doing anything stupid on her body."

"I would never, okay? This body is now like my own body, too. But is it me or you who's having dirty thoughts here?" Taehyung scrawled, crossing his arms and Jimin scrawled back, too, defending himself saying it's not him either and that he was trying to protect his bestfriend.

And somehow, that made the two to end up clear their throats after realizing how silly their own fight sounds.
Both knows they're strangers who just met, of course, it was kinda awkward at first. But somehow, as their conversation goes, it felt so casual as if they knew each other for a long time.

"I'm still amazed at how you recognized I'm not Taeun instantly the moment you see me. It's been almost a week with Jungkook, but he hasn't shown even a single doubt on his girlfriend being strange," Taehyung sighed, his eyes on the trees beside the road that left behind as their car moves forward.

The trees were familiar because they almost reach Jungkook's place-Jimin offered to take him back when Taehyung got a call from Jungkook to ask where is he, because apparently, Jungkook is back early and he couldn't find him in the house.

"Well, I've known her for 11 years. I know what kind of a person she is," Jimin smiled faintly, eyes still focusing on the road. "And I was the one who drove her to Jungkook's place that night two weeks ago. And besides, there's no way she'll return to that house anytime soon. I was surprised at first to see you in front of the gate until I recognized the difference."

"Wait, two weeks ago means... is it the day she moved in with Jungkook?" Taehyung gasped when Jimin nodded. "But what do you mean she won't return to that hous-"

"We're here."

Taehyung groaned when his question was interrupted as the car stops, there's still so many things he want to ask.

"Why do we have to reach so quickly?" He whines while Jimin chuckles.

"Yeah, right? We could've talked about more stuff if not for Jungkook's call. Too bad we don't have much time today, huh? But you can just call me whenever you want to talk. If there's anything you want to know, I'll tell you. She might have my number."

"Unfortunately, there's not. In fact, there's no one's number saved on her phone except for Jungkook's. Look."

Jimin sighed when Taehyung showed him the phone, took the phone from Taehyung's hand and showed him his number from the call history instead-not saved on contacts, just the number, of course. "There. That's my number. Save it. Oh- you even called me? It must be you since it's only 3 days ago."

"Huh?" Taehyung frowned and then nodded after looking at the screen, he did try calling the same number. "Ah! It must be when I called every number to ask if they know her. This number was switched off that day so I didn't try again."

"I went to Italy right after I brought her here, I almost missed my flight that day. And I used another number while I was there, maybe that's why."

Taehyung nodded. "Well, then... I'll get inside. I'll call you later. I still have so many questions for you."

He smiled when Jimin nodded, unfastened the seat belt and opened the door, but just before he was about to get down, he had to turn his head back when Jimin grabbed his arm.

"Umm... will you tell me your name? I mean... your real name. I won't tell anyone, I promise. I just wanted to remind myself that the one in front of me is not Taeun but someone else. What I'm trying to say is-"

"It's Taehyung. Kim Taehyung," Taehyung smiled as he said his name out loud with excitement all over his face. He was happy someone finally asked his real name. He, too, needed someone to call him by his real name.

They just stared and smiled at each other. For Taehyung, it was a contented blissful smile to finally find someone whom he could lean on, a smile beamed with joy of finally finding someone who knows the real him.

While for Jimin, it was a painful smile at the realization and acceptance to the fact that the one in front of him is not his bestfriend anymore but a whole new stranger who is going to live his bestfriend's life, someone who promised to make her life better.
