Remembering or forgetting?
Donghyuck's pov
A week later after that incident, Mark hyung and i had been quite distant. Everyone else couldn't see it but the both of us definitely can feel it.
We are always seen to be doing our usual routine, hanging out at lunch and on some weekends. Everything seemed to be normal, from somebody else's point of view. But Mark hyung and I don't even look at each other any longer than 3 seconds. Well, for him atleast. I tried to approach him and come up with a casual conversation, but i end up getting short and blunt remarks from him.
As the following week goes by, things are starting to become worse. No calls, no text, not a single glance my way.
I'm worried, but at the same time, I'm sick of it. We don't even walk home together anymore, if anything, he's either walking out the classrooms as soon as the bell rings or he's dodging my main paths when we have different class periods.
That's when I started to bother Jeno to walk me home. I felt lonely, Jeno wasn't fond of the idea at first since he lived in the opposite direction of my house. But after a week of doing so, he didn't mind it too much. Now that it's winter, it's better to walk home with someone for warmth and most of all, throw some snow in their face.
That's what i want to do to Mark for acting like a child. Asshole. Oh wait, his face is already cold enough.
Im dropping the honorifics for now, not that i'll be calling his name any time soon anyways.
"Donghyuck-ah! Come down for dinner. NOW!", my mum yelled on the top of her lungs.
"Ughh ok", i groaned.
I made myself down the stairs and pulled myself a chair out and sat down to a full table of food. Typical. Mum tends to make too much food for the three of us. Dad complains all the time because he doesnt like eating reheated food for the next following days.
"I called you so many times to come down to eat. Were you busy?", my mum asked as she started picking at her food then it being demolished into her mouth.
"Y-yeah", i stuttered. "Yeah i was busy".
"Yeah, busy thinking about your Mark hyung" , my dad retorted.
"Wow, really dad? Really?", I choked on rice, just by the call of his name.
"Donghyuck, you did know that you said some things out loud right?"
My eyes widen within an instant. And i shook my head furiously.
"What?! No no no"
"I mean, i heard it when i walked past your room. You sound stressed, what's wrong hyuck?"
Silence.
"Speaking of which, I haven't seen Minhyung in a while. Is he okay? I kind of miss hearing you two bicker all the time", my mum opinionated casually as she continued to stuff food in her mouth.
Yeah me too...
"He- he's busy?", I tried to say without making it seemed like i was unsure.
"Busy? You sound unsure", my mum raised an eyebrow at me.
Yup I failed. For once Lee Donghyuck had failed in sounding confident. Congratulations man.
"Yeah, like with exams and things you know?"
"Exams? Why haven't i seen you studying?", she frowned.
We both didn't have any exams as the year was coming to an end. I just made a lame excuse to snuggle my way out of this 'mark hyung' conversation.
"Me?",i pointed to my chest with my eyebrows rising higher than the bangs that is covering my forehead. "Eyy you don't have to worry about me", i pointed my finger guns at the both of them then winked.

Mark's pov
The past 2 and a half weeks had been interesting. Now that Donghyuck is hanging out with his so called boyfriend more, I'm hanging out with the other boys. Not just Renjun, Chenle and Jisung, but also with the older mates, Jaehyun and Johnny who lived around the block, whom I've known since they've moved in the area about four years ago.
What I realised is that, it's quite fun. Although it mainly consist of a lot parties, alcohol and probably some use of drugs, that I don't associate myself with. Atleast try not to.
Donghyuck doesn't need me, that's what he intended to say when I asked him if I was still somewhat relevant. Well, good for him, that's one less handsome friend he can cross off his list.
"Hey what are you thinking about man? You're spacing out a bit", Jaehyun reached out his arm towards me while sipping his beer.
"Ah it's nothing", I took a sip of that bitter liquor. "So what's with that horse head and bow tie?", I jerked my chin towards the costume that was sitting on his desk.
"Oh, freaky Jaehyun", Johnny wiggled his eyebrows then cracked out a laugh.
"You know the go", Jaehyun smirked. "It's for this weekend's party".
"This week? Again? What's the occasion?", I honestly don't know how these guys do this every week. Their alcohol intolerance is so high, but not as high and squeaky as Donghyuck's loud ass.
"Aw come on man, how could you forget?", he punched me on the shoulder. I gave him a puzzled look and he replied, "it's my 18th birthday".
"Oh, cool. Congratulations", I gave him specifically only three loud claps.
"Fuck you, what an ass. Anyways, invite your friends too. Let them experience my world", he quirked.
"Yeah yeah".
"Oh and don't forget to bring a mask. Theme: hidden identity", he flashed his signature smirk once again.
Not a bad idea.
