A few weeks later... (A/N: I'm too lazy to figure out a specific time. Be glad I updated haha. Sorry it has been awhile.)
I stand in Ty's kitchen. He has his back to me. He is pouring us coffee and putting creamer in them both. I glance at the wooden floor.
I try to gather my scattered thoughts and make sense of them, but I can't concentrate.
Ty clears his throat and hands me my coffee. "Do you want to sit down?"
I shake my head and grab the coffee. I take a sip and instantly regret it. "Ah! It's hot! Dang it. I do that every time." I set the cup down and grab a water bottle out of the fridge.
"Are you okay?" He asks taking a step towards me.
I nod. "Start talking."
He sighs. "I'm going to take the full ride scholarship to play basketball at University of Wyoming."
"And I'm going to Eastman University. So we will be five hours away from each other." (A/N: I made this college up. It is a local 4 year university in state.)
He nods with a frown on his face. I blow my coffee before taking a sip.
"So how are we going to make this worse? And don't make promises you can't keep. Be real with me," I state.
"I'll come here every chance I get. I'll text, call, and facetime you." Ty says and steps closer to me. "We can make this work if we both want to and put forth the effort."
I let my wall fall down. I wrap my arms around him tightly. He does the same to me and I feel as if he is holding me together and breaking me at the same time. "You are my best friend, Ty. What am I going to do without you?" Tears slowly fall down my face. I try to hold them back so he won't feel guilty. This is a great opportunity for him. He loves basketball and he gets his college paid for.
He gently sways us from side to side. "I'm going to miss you so much, my sweet Harp. I feel like I just got you and now we are going separate ways, but I want to make this work so bad. Please believe me." He leans back slightly to look at me.
"Prove it," I whisper because I don't trust my voice right now.
He pulls me against his body and I move my hands up to place one on his cheek and the other around his neck. He barely brushes his lips against mine. He pecks my lips. Then the more kisses the longer they get. At some point he picks me up and places me on the counter. He stands in between my legs and I wrap mine around him.
I hear a sound and can't place it until the door opens. I push Ty away and quickly jump off the counter. I adjust my clothes and take a sip of my water. Ty's mom smiles at us.
"Hello, Harper. How are you?" She greets and hugs her son.
"I'm good. How are you?" I smile and hope I don't look flustered even though I know I am. Jesus is probably disappointed. Whoops.
"I'm great, honey. Are you going to stay for dinner?" She questions.
"No ma'am. My dad wants me home tonight." And I don't want to be around your son right now.
"Okay. Maybe another time!" She grins and begins to walk out of the kitchen.
"Okay!" I smile until she is out of eyesight. I let the smile drop. I glare at Ty and punch him in the arm.
He grunts in discomfort and rubs his arm. "What happened to the angel who was all over me?"
I cross my arms. "You are an idiot."
"But I'm your idiot," He smirks.
I roll my eyes and drink the rest of my coffee. I grab the water bottle and my keys. "I'm leaving."
He grabs my arm before I can open the door and pulls me back to him. He puckers his lips and I press my forehead to his lips. I lean back and grin. I pat his cheek and exit his house.
A/N: My friend found a picture that represents Harper and Ty. I love it. What do you guys think of this chapter? Do you like Ty's nickname for Harper? Do y'all think they will split or stay together in the future?
