Chapter 3 - Six
For some reason people are reading this. Thank you for reading this awful story!
I must say, I am impressed that six could escape the maw with her coat infront of her eyes. I walked around my house with a towel over my head in simmilar fashion and bumbed into every wall in the house..... my family gave me weird looks during this experiment....... IT WAS FOR SCINCE!
Just for information, I am taking my time with the storyline, meaning the characters will slowly fall in love and stuff. Also majority of this story is in Mono's perspective, but you will sometimes get a treat and be in Six's perspective.
__________
Six felt cold, hurt and alone. Her body mattered and dirty. Her black hair patched infront of her eyes, but not so much it prevented her from seeing. She hugged her knees as her eyes stared at the music box infront of her. It was the only thing she could do in here. The Hunter didn't realy give her much to do. Mainly because everytime Six was given some type of toy she would use it in her escaping attempts. They didn't end well for six. The Hunter wouldn't feed her on those days, not like she ate much anyways. From past experiences, she lost her appetite.
Exhailing, Six wobbled as she stood up. She stepped towards the music box and glared at it. As if it was the objects fault for her ending up where she is. Before she picked up the music box, a loud creaking noise sounded out her room door. She stood straighter, flinching when the handle of the door was shaking. Swiftly, Six snatched up the music box and ran under the gaint bed.
Without warning the lower part of the door started to crash down. Squeaking and taking quick hast, Six hid under the gaint bed in an attempt to seem hidden. She hugged her music box as a mysterious boy walked in. A few years older, to Six's interpretation. A brown bag over his head with two holes for eyes, a greenish-gray trench coat that almost seems brown, a brown shirt and brown pants that are rolled up at the ankle. Gee, this kid likes his bown. His torch shone around the room but stopped at were Six was at.
Six tensed as the boy walked closer. The boy kneeled down and reached his hand out slowly. "Hey," he spoke. His voice was soft like he was talking to a spoked animal. "I won't hurt you." Six only hugged her music box closer. The boy tilted his head at her. She glanced at the boy before looking back at her music box. Six then looked back and forth between the boy and the music box as a light bulb went off in her mind. Slowly, she crept closer to the edge of the beds cover. The boy gently curled his fingers in and out again, signaling for Six to come closer. Just you wait.
Once Six was only a few tiny feet infront of the boy, she grabbed on her music box before chucking it at the boys face. When it crashed onto the boys face it mumbled its little tune for a second. The boy thumbed onto the for, and grunted as he rubbed his head. Taking her chance Six bolted out of the room. In a hurried manner, Six focused on her surroundings, looking for a place to go. She ran a few paces forward before spotting the stairs. She sprinted over to them and started hopping from one stair to the next. Run, run, run, is the only thing her brain was thinking.
At the top, Six bent over and put her hands on her knees. Her breath was ragged. So many damn stairs. "Hey", the boy called out again, yet softer somehow. Ignoring the call Six jogged forward. Her eyes darted around. Creak! Six jumped in her spot as the patter of footsteps came closer to her. She dived for the nearest corner, hoping the shadows will cover her. Silently, against all her will, she whimpered. Fear took place where adrenaline once was. She hugged her knees and placed her head on them, loo,ing at the foor. Six slammed her eyes shut, expecting to feel pain.
As nothing happend to her, Six gradually moved her gaze upwards. There, to her surprise, the boy sat. A respectable distance from her. Even though Six couldn't see the face of the boy, she could tell his gaze was soft. "Hey," he repeated. Again he slowly reached his hand out but once Six flinched he thought better and placed his hand on his lap. "Don't run away again. I promise I'm not gonna hurt you." He gently whispered. Six lowered her eyes, before looking up again. She took a deep breath in an attempt to calm herself. In that act, the boy seamed to relax too.
"I'm Mono," he introduced, "and you?" Six hesitated for a moment, before she untangled herself and replicated the boy in sitting cross legged. If I die, I'll kill him. Cautiously, Six lifted her hands and showed six fingers to Mono. "Umm, six letters?" Mono asked tilting his head. Six shook her head. "Six words!" He loudly gasped. Flinching, Six covered her ears and lifted her knees to her chest before she shook her head again. "I'm sorry that was loud," he apologized. Again Six lifted six fingers, he knees still at her chest. "Is your name Six?" Mono asked softly, trying not to scare her again.
Six nodded and hugged her knees again. "Well Six, how about getting out of here." Mono rhetorically quizzed standing up, dusting himself off, "Do you know of a way out?" Six thought of the front doggy door so she nodded. "Imma guess its locked?" Again Six nodded. Mono crossed his arms thinking. Six looked at him before standing up herself, feeling bare without her yellow raincoat. She wondered around, keeping her eye on Mono, in case he decided to attack.
She wondered around looking about. Their was a small circular window that let in the light of the moon, whilst cobwebs have been snugling in the corners of the broken roof. Dust smuthered over rotten forgotten furniture.Six whizzed around when Mono suddenly started thinking aloud. Her heart pounded in her chest, but realizing what he was doing she sighed. Calming herself sown. She Continued her wondering.
As Mono kept rambling to himself, Six strolled off. Her body spun in circles, with her head to the ceiling while her feet walked in their own direction. The wooden floor scraped against her feet. Six stopped for a breif moment, look at her feet. Well this is going to form blisters later. Sighing, Six strayd on. At a certain point she decided it would be a good idea to reunite with Mono but as her eyes caught sight of a door way, her curiosity took the better of her. Just a few more seconds.
Peeking into the room, Six winced at the foul smell. She covered her nose with her hands as she gagged. She closed her eyes like it would make the smell vanish. Prying her eyes open, one at a time, she searched for the intoxicating stench. The room was dark, the only light coming from the moon light that seeped through cracks in the roof. Spider webs and dust plastered the room. The floor boards creaked under every footfall Six took into the room. In moments the smell got too mush for her and she turned to leave.
As she spun around to exit, she almost screamed at the sight her eyes saw. There, in the coner of the room that close to the door, was a dead lady staring at a television. Gulping, Six crept closer for a better look. The arms of the lady was by her sides, her hair thining. Nothing was left of the face, only parting gums were the teeth used to be, eye sockets from were the eyes were and a hole were the nose should be. The clothes on the body was old and mattered, patched with holes from moths. Six shook her head before looking away.
Taking a shallow breath, Six stood up straight and proceeded to leave the room. But as she speed walked past the hand of the corps, something flashed in Six's eyes. Hesitantly, Six took a look. To her surprise a key was in its hand. Knowing it will be something Mono and her would need, she summoned up all her strength and grabbed the key. Revolting at the touch of the bodies dried, flakey skin, Six yanked at the key. She pulled and pulled until the arm was ripped off the body. Six fell back, the key flying over head and the arm landing on her.
Six jolted up, hoping away from the arm. Instead of seing bone and sloppy blood come out of the body, their was stuffing. Someone must have wanted the body to stay here. Creepy. Now where is the key? Six looked away, searching for the key. After finding it Six carefully picked up the silver key, and ventured her way back to Mono. When she returned, Six found him stil rambling. Very productive.
"Were gonna need a key, or a crowbar... mabey a bomb," he scrambled through his thoughts but stopped as Six stood infront of him with a key. Six lifted it up to Mono. "The key plan it is." Mono gently took the key from Six, after thanking her and started to walk towards the stairs. As they reached the bottom floor, both froze as a familiar tune echoed through the old wooden house. Six could hear Mono gulp but as she looked at him, she was surprised to see him not looking in the direction of The Hunter. She followed Mono's gaze and mentally gasped.
Somehow through the ruckas the two made, there at the end of the hallway a deformed dog slept. From what Six could see, its mouth had razor sharp, crooked teeth that lay in an underbite. Its paws were massive with pointy claws on them. The ears torn and worn while the fur seemed blood soaked and mattered. Shaking her head, Six looked back at the door. Mono did the same and quietly unlocked the doggy door. No wonder he has a door for a dog. Sneaking beside Mono, the two pushed open the dog door, only for it to make a loud SCREACH!
