Chapter 2

The day Noriaki and Manny Kakyoin had arrived had been "wasted" in Manny's terms, because after meeting up with Josuke they returned to their hotel, getting settled in.

Manny and his older brother Noriaki shared a suite with Jotaro that conjoined with a suite for Joseph, Avdol, and the new stand wielding baby Shizuka.

Manny was glad that Noriaki did let him actually sleep instead of dream training like they usually did. Even though he did make him read over all the information that Jotaro had collected on the stand users, the stand statistics, and powers, of whom was met in Morioh.

Noriaki readily reminded him he was supposed to learn how different kinds stands worked if he planned on working in the SPW foundation when he grew up, even if he was already technically a consultant.
Besides, Manny was only 12, and he hardly knew what he wanted to do for high school let alone a career.

---

The next morning after breakfast Manny told everyone that he planned on heading to town to hang out. "I'm not staying here cooped up all day."

"Is that the best idea?" Noriaki asked. "There's a killer out there, and besides the Speedwagon foundation is still arranging getting you a tutor, since I brought you along during the school year. Can you wait until Jotaro and I go out later?"

"No, I don't want to, can I just meet up with you guys later? Besides, I can take care of myself." Manny whined.

Kakyoin raised an eyebrow wanting to bring up what happened yesterday but deciding against it, knowing making Manny mad would only make everyone miserable. "Alright, fine, meet us at the pier around noon then. We will just be looking over the files and theories until then."

"YESS! Thanks!" Manny shouted before running out the door.

---

Once Manny made his way into the heart of Morioh the first person he recognized was Koichi from yesterday, but instead of being with his tall girlfriend he was with another boy about the same height as Koichi with greasy black shoulder length hair. "Yo, Koichi!" he said speed walking towards them.

"Who's this?" The greasy-looking kid asked.

"Oh, Hazamada, this is Jotaro's Friend's younger brother, Kakyoin Manny." Koichi smiled.

"Don't call me Kakyoin, that's what you can call my brother, I'm just Manny, alright?" He said coolly. "Where are you two headed?"

"Well, we are supposed to be going to school." Koichi said sheepishly.

"Oh yeah, how did I forget?" Manny grumbled. His older brother and him were just speaking about his schooling, so that means everyone he had met yesterday wouldn't be available to hang out with him.

"But, I found out where the mangaka who writes Pink Dark Boy, Kishibe Rohan lives and I was thinking that we should go visit!"

"That sounds like fun, lets go!" Manny said with a snaggletooth grin.

---

The three of them soon arrive at the mangaka's house and Hazamada and Koichi started to debate on who should ring the bell.

"You ring the bell." Hazamada ordered.

"What! Why me?"

"Because I'm older, and I'm telling you to do it as your upperclassman."

"B-but this was your idea!" Koichi retorted.

Manny smirks seeing how both of them are too nervous to do it.

"Hazamada, you're older then Koichi?" he said faking admaration "Wow, I guess you're not scared of anything."

Hazamada beamed "That's right!"

"Wow it would be so cool if you would ring the doorbell, since you're not scared."

Hazamada smiled proudly and started up the front steps of the big house before he paused realizing that he had been tricked, but he couldn't turn back now unless he wanted to look like a coward in front of the 12 year old.

Manny snickered, then right before Hazamada's finger could press the doorbell the door opened and a hand flew out and wrapped itself around the greasy boy's forearm.

Both the high schoolers let out a yelp and Manny's eyes widened and suddenly became on guard.

He guessed he was more used to being around other stand users then the others, as well as dealing with enemies for time to time.

"It- it is you! Kishibe Rohan! I recognize the face from the new years deluxe edition of Pink Dark Boy!" Hazamada exclaimed "I've read everyone of your interviews and all that's published of Pink Dark Boy!"

The mangaka seemed not pleased with the shouting, although doing his best to keep a straight face as he let go of Hazamada's arm.

"We are big fans! We were on our way to school when we wanted to stop by and see if we could perhaps get autographs, it would mean a lot to us!" Hazamada continued to shout.

"Oh? You're fans? I guess my address has gotten out to the tabloids." Rohan replied as he looked up and down the street, seeing if anyone else were around.

Hazamada went on to assure Rohan where he had overheard it wasn't from any news outlet. Then that was when Rohan invited the boys into his home for the autographs they wanted. Even saying they were welcome to come see his art studio were he worked on his manga.

Manny found Rohan's demeanor strange, but kept his suspicions on the back burner, knowing firsthand that sometimes artists were just weird.

Upon entering Rohan's studio Manny noticed how neat and tidy it was, unlike his brother's art studio. Then again Rohan was working as a professional.

Koichi and Hazamada looked around the room in awe, taking in all of Rohan's original art hanging all around.

"Do you know what's the most important thing about being an artist?" Rohan asked proudly.

When neither of the older boys answered Manny spoke up. "It's integrity, according to the artists in my life."

Rohan gave a cutting glare before raising an eyebrow. "I suppose, though I feel that realism is the most important. Realism in art as well as in storytelling. Making my manga realistic is what makes it resonate with people."

Manny scrunched his face, not knowing enough about 'Pink Dark Boy' to argue, but he believed it was in the fantasy sci-fi genre.

"Ah, look." Rohan said plucking off a spider from Hazamada's shoulder. "You see this spider? Most people would just kill it without a second thought. I, need to study it inside and out, so I know and can learn about it if I ever need to draw it for my manga so it can be as realistic as possible."

Manny tensed up when the artist plunged an Exacto knife into the spiders abdomen, then felt the blood drain from his face when the artist licked the now dead arachnid.

Hazamada straight up vomited on Rohan's carpet.

Stand user or not, Manny was trying to figure out if sticking around was a good idea.

But just as quickly as the things got weird, everything got back to normal.

"Now you said you wanted autographs? I'll be back with three autographs in just a moment." Rohan said leaving the room.

Manny let out a sigh, even though he hadn't noticed he had been holding his breath. He figured that his autograph he'd get, he'd give to his brother, knowing that Noriaki had at least read 'Pink Dark Boy' at some point. It was a shame that he was more interested in western cartoons, making it harder to make friends with the same taste, or even have common interest with his own brother, albeit adopted.

"Maybe we should just go now," Koichi said somewhat nervously, "He kinda freaks me out, honestly this whole experience has been bizarre to say the least."

"No, we should stay, we've gotten so far, even got into his studio!" Hazamada retorted.

Manny looked over at the manga artist's odd triangle bookshelf and grabbed a magazine and opened it before leaning on the bookshelf lazily, paging through the monthly newsletter.

The two older boys argued a little more about if they should stay or go before Hazamada pointed out a large unsealed envelope on the corner of Rohan's desk. Claiming it must be the manuscript for the unpublished chapters of 'Pink Dark Boy'

Hazamada was the one to grab the stack of paper out of envelope and opened them up to read the comic panels with Koichi.

"Woah! This is so amazing!" Hazamada shouted

Koichi looked intensely at the pages as he shouted with Hazamada. "I'm getting goosebumps just reading the pages!"

Manny, still paging through the magazine, was thinking that the boys were just being over dramatic fanboys untill their shouts got louder and heard the thump of them falling to the floor.

Manny practically dropped the magazine, and looked down at the boys laying on the ground still shouting and looking surprised and maybe a bit scared.

"W-whats going on?" Manny asked trying to run through the possibilities, since everything happened so suddenly.

Rohan then walked back into the studio with a smug smile. "I knew you couldn't resist looking at my unpublished manuscripts!"

Manny looked back down at the older boys and their skin started to peal back in some spots and then large chunks start to follow suit after. It looked like paper, like a book.

There was no doubt, this was the work of a stand, whether it was directly Rohan's stand or it was actually an inanimate object's stand. Perhaps it was the ink Rohan used and that's why the faxed and printed copies didn't do this to the readers.

Manny shook his head to try to get himself to stop overthinking. He had to think fast, regardless of where the stand was, or who it belonged to he didn't want to look at the manga like Koichi and Hazamada did.

Rohan's face fell when he saws Manny standing, unaffected by the stand. "You didn't look at the manuscript?"

Manny cracked a bratty smile, "Hate to break it to you, I'm not a fan of your probably trashy manga." He said before starting to run for the door. Maybe he could meet Jotaro and his brother at the pier, Jotaro would definitely kick this guy's butt.

Manny bolted for the door but he had to run past Rohan, who tried to trip him, he luckily jumped over his extended leg, then there it was the homestretch he was going to make it out of the art studio. That's what Manny thought before Rohan grabbed him by the back of the collar of his shirt and tossed him back by the bookshelf.

Then Rohan grabbed the manuscript and tossed the papers at manny hoping that at least one of the pages would catch the boy's eye. He then grabbed his artist pen. The papers scattered and started to flutter through the air.

Unfortunately that is exactly what happened, and Manny fell prey to the unknown stand. His skin pealed back and curled into paper stock just like the other boys. He cursed under his breath, he had to figure out what exactly the stand did now before he attacked.

Manny had a sinking feeling that Kakyoin would've been disappointed with Manny's judgement to run past the enemy standuser, and would chew him out for it if he got out of here.

"My ability, Heaven's Door is able to open your hearts and allow me to read everything that your bodies have storied since birth. Reading about you lives and experiences will help me write my manga more realistically. It's so much better then interviews. This is 100% more realistic, as if I lived it myself," Rohan said as he crouched over Koichi and began to turn and read his pages.

Manny growled thinking about trying to escape as Hazamada was slowly belly crawling towards the door. maybe he could get out of range of Heaven's Door, but he could barely move, and if he and Hazamada tried to escape that might attract Rohan's attention. Then again Hazamada seemed like a cowardly boy, but it was probably his best bet as of right now.

"How can you call yourself a writer if you steal your source material?!" Manny spat trying to get Rohan's attention and get him angry.

"Steal?! What do you think writing is founded on? You can't you come up with an entirely new idea? Everything we create is founded on something we take in, or our culture that surrounds us! Try to come up with a new color! Impossible! Try to create a story that's not founded on a single familiar thing! You can't! No matter what you create, it already has something that is grounded in reality, whether it is to connect to you, or an audience!"

Just then Rohan went back to reading Koich's pages. Rohan began to ramble about Koichi's past, and it seemed he liked Koichi's noble personality. That didn't give Manny high hopes.

Just then Rohan read about stands on Koichi's memories/pages.
Rohan then read off a list of users and stands that Koichi knew about.
The two other boys heart rates spiked when they heard their names and stands read off aloud.

Just then Koichi summoned his stand, Echoes Act 2, and hurled a sound effect attack at Rohan, but it swerved and missed.

Both Hazamada and Manny gasped. "Koichi stop playing around!"
Manny gritted his teeth in the booklet Kakyoin made him read over before bed last night, Echoes had been estimated to have high precision, something wasn't right.

Koichi tried to hit Rohan a few more times, all misses. Rohan smirked at the futile attempts to attack him.

"I wrote into your pages, your heart, that you will be unable to attack me!" The Mangaka boasted. Then Rohan ripped a few pages out making Koichi scream, and it looked like there was a small amount of blood as he did. Then threw the pages on his desk, laughing manically.

Hazamada let out a loud wail, drawing Rohan's attention to him.
"Now, let's see what kind of person you are," Rohan said striding towards Hazamada before crouching over him, reading over his pages.

Again, what Rohan read contained information that only Hazamada could know. Unlike Koichi, Rohan didn't like what he read, telling Hazamaza he was a coward, and wouldn't even attack him even before he would've wrote the instructions in his pages.

Manny took that as Rohan didn't write it, though he couldn't be sure, because he couldn't see past Rohan. He'd have to decide if he'd take a chance and make a plan based on that. Manny knew he had many, many more stand users in its memory then Koichi, because of his training with the Speedwagon Foundation, not to mention his own personality traits and thoughts he'd rather keep to himself.

Manny had to think fast because Rohan stood back up and started walking towards him. Manny's eyes frantically searched the room hoping he could piece together a plan.

Before he knew it Rohan was already standing over him and tugging on his pages, to get a good look at what was written on his heart.

"You were born with your stand Death 13. And at the age of 11 months you were soon recruited by the evil vampire Lord Dio to kill the Joestar family." That alone had to have Rohan reeling.

The look on Koichi's and Hazamada's faces sure were shocked.

"Your stand is a dream based stand, with persuasion abilities." Rohan read before turning a few pages. "You went to live with Noriaki Kakyoin, because he inspired you become a more capable stand user, even though he fed you your own shit as revenge for trying to kill him and the rest of their party. You also were more worried deep in your heart to actually kill a person for the first time, regardless of what Dio might do. Yet with a conflicted heart, you were still able to choose a hero's path."

Manny growled then spotted something on Rohan's desk that could possibly help them escape. he'd have to do it before Rohan could read his current thoughts.

"You're a resourceful trickster, who is also easily annoyed, but yet with a good inner compass. Yes I can use some of this!" Rohan said while ripping out some of Manny's pages.

Manny yelped feeling Rohan tear the paper that was connected to him, or was him. He also felt Rohan put the pen to his cheek as he started to write. Now was when he has to act on his plan.

Manny kicked Rohan in the abdomen knocking him back a few feet. He hoped that he wasn't too late and activated Death 13's hallucination like ability.

For Rohan the floor billowed out from where he stood looking nearly like ribbons, now in a free fall. Rohan yelled as he started to loose balance.

Manny had to concentrate hard to manifest Death 13's scythe to reach for the artist mannequin on Rohan's desk and swipe it hard enough for it to fly towards Hazamada.

Manny swiped the mannequin and it bounced off Rohan's head before landing right next to Hazamada.

Rohan fell to the floor and felt the solid ground beneath his hands and knees, helping him come back to his senses.

"Quick Hazamada! Don't you dare hesitate! Pull out the mannequin's holder and use Surface on Rohan!"
