Goodnight
Caroline
I laid down in bed, and it wasn't much longer when I felt Cody crawl in with me and curl up behind me. All seems right in the world with him so close.
"Everything will be okay." I said, and I heard him let out a deep breath.
"For some reason, hearing you say that makes me believe it will be, Caroline." He kissed my head.
"Will you do something with me in the morning?" I asked.
"What's that?" I asked.
"Let's go to the gym and let off some steam. I can see the anger in your eyes, and you need to release it before it consumes you." I said, and he didn't reply for a moment.
"It's that obvious?" He asked.
"Yes, but it's expected. Your entire world is changing." I said.
"My world feels right with you so close." He said.
"I thought the same thing." I responded.
"I spoke to Jessie earlier. It seems she visited Gizmo, and your mom sent her home with a puppy." He said.
I turned my head to look at him. "Are you serious? June doesn't have enough on her plate?"
"I thought the same thing, but Jessie seems happy. She named him Toad." He chuckled.
I laughed, "Toad?"
He smiled. "She said he hops around, but June made his real name Buddy."
"That is so cute." It really is adorable.
"Yeah, I miss her so bad. I hate being away from her so much." He said.
"Why didn't they ever come on tour with you?" I asked.
"June thinks its all groupies and parties. This with Sean just confirms it for her." He said.
"If I was a mom, I'd bring them on tour in the summer. At least a few weeks, because the child could see the world. I haven't been exposed to a lot, so I think it would be okay." I said.
"You would be a wonderful mother." He whispered.
"Think so?" I asked.
"I know so." He answered.
I laid back down and he squeezed me in tighter, then yawned.
"Goodnight, Cody."
He paused, then leaned up and turned my face toward him and gave me one hell of a good night kiss.
When I woke in the morning, I smelled coffee, but I'm in Cody's arms with my face laying on his chest. I looked up, and he looked down at me.
"Good morning." He said.
"I smell coffee. That's a good sign, good morning Cody."
"I sleep so well with you close." He was running his hand up and down my arm.
"Same here." I stretched up and kissed his cheek. "I need a cup of that coffee, then we are going to the gym." I said.
I went to get up, but he pulled me back down into the bed and crawled on top of me. "You're not going anywhere, until I get a morning kiss." He said.
I put my hand over my mouth and shook my head no, but he just chuckled and kissed my neck. This only sent a jolt through me, and I lifted his face to kiss me.
Feeling his body on top of mine gave me a hunger as I've never had before in my life. He pulled his head away, then rested his head against mine. "Not like this, not clouded in so much sadness." He said.
I nodded my head in agreement. I don't want to think back as our first time and think of Sean.
He gave me one last kiss, and we got out of bed. I put a robe on and walked out for a cup of coffee, and saw Jax on the balcony.
I slipped back into the bedroom as Cody was just walking out of the bathroom.
"Jax is out on the balcony." I said as I grabbed my workout clothes.
"I'll tell him to get ready to go down with us." He said.
"Okay, I'll be ready in just a few minutes." I got ready and met the guys out in the common area.
I ran on the treadmill, while the guys beat the hell out of a punching bag. After our workout, we all got showers and went down for another practice, and Wally went to the hospital to check on the family. The day flew by quickly. While I was checking out the new clothes that were sent over, Jax and Wally stayed behind, the others went to see Sean and his family.
His sister arrived this morning, and Cody has been making sure the family has every convenience possible. He said they thanked him for not canceling the concert, and Wally had it set up to where they could watch live from the hospital. The press has gone crazy, fans are leaving flowers outside the hospital, and I have a feeling their grief will hit them tonight.
