I hate that I missed her call. I got to speak to her once, and her call woke me. I drank way too much that night, and so did everyone else. Lana passed out in my room, but of course, nothing happened. I went to bed alone, and woke still dressed. It's not like I drank until I blacked out.

I've tried to call Caroline several times. This time away from her is killing me. It shows in my work and almost every part of my life.

We are in Charlotte for our concert tonight. I need to hear her voice before I go insane, but I keep getting her voicemail.

"You need to snap out of it." Dean is getting impatient with me.

"It's not like it's over, she's still your girl, so you need to at least try." He said.

"I know you're right, but if I could just talk to her, I think it would help," I said.

"You're marrying her, aren't you." He asked.

"Hell yeah, I'm going to marry her. I can barely breathe without her, so it's going to happen." I answered.

"Good, and letting her fulfill her dreams now is a smart move." He said.

"It doesn't feel very smart." I said.

"It'll pay off in the end, but what the fuck happened with Lana?" He asked.

"No clue, I woke up and she was there, I about lost it. What if people got the wrong idea?" I asked.

"We know you, Cody. You'd never betray Caroline even if you were drunk." He said.

I stood in my dressing room feeling like I forgot something. "We're on in five." Jamie popped his head in and walked away.

Right, I didn't forget anything, I just miss Caroline. I took a long hard look in the mirror and tried to coach myself into doing my best.

I walked out on stage and the crowd roared.

I saw the crowd looking up on a big screen and pointing. I tried to look, but as soon as I did, music that's not mine started.

What the hell?

Suddenly I heard her voice, and I felt all the air leave my chest. I finally saw it on the big screen. How are they doing this?

I'm completely confused and I know this song. It's her own project, and she didn't know I saw it in her notebook.

"The answers in your eyes.."

I stood and watched, until Dean looked toward the other end of the stage. Suddenly the crowd roared again, and my girl came into view.

I jumped in excitement and lunged at her. The song ended just then, so I picked her up and swung her around. No words could be spoken, because the crowd was going crazy.

I sat her down and kissed her so hard neither of us could breathe. I kissed her lips, her face her hair and every part of her I could as she laughed.

I walked her over and she took a seat next to Lana. I sang my heart out and gave the best performance in my life. My girl is home and she's all I needed. Lana was right, she only lasted two weeks without me.

When I was done, I picked her up and ran off stage, straight to my dressing room.

"What happened?" I asked, and she was still smiling.

"I'm kidding myself for thinking I could ever leave you. My father will get over it, believe me, he won't be mad." She said.

"Marry me. Please marry me, and I'll make sure you still get to teach somehow." I'm cupping her face and staring into her eyes.

"Yes I'll marry you, but I don't think I'll have time to teach." She said.

"We will make it work." I said.

"It's just, well I don't think I'll have time. I have a baby to raise." She said.

"You what?" I'm confused," are you pregnant?" I asked.

She nodded. "Yes!"

I've never been so happy in my life! I picked her up and swung her around.

I set her down and kissed her, then she pulled back. "My father won't be pissed. He wants grandchildren more than anything." She had a tear in her eye.

"Let's go!" I pulled her out of the room, and the band was all there staring at us.

"You all knew?" I asked.

Dean patted my back. "Since last night bud. She wanted to surprise you, and we had to learn that song today."

"You told them about the baby first?" I asked, and her eyes about popped out of her head.

"No!"

"The what?" Dean yelled out in shock.

"I'm pregnant." She said, and they all started hugging her, then me and saying congratulations.

I still can't believe it, my girl is home and we did create that life. Oh my God, I'm going to be a dad again, and Caroline a mom. My chest hurt for just a second. I couldn't help it. I hugged her again and spun her around. "I love you." I stopped and kissed her.

We quickly did the meet and greet, and I rushed the others so I could get this beautiful creature back to the hotel.
