All the headlines were buzzing in Woodsboro. A few of them already throwing away their stories about the murder of Casey Becker and Steve Orth. Now the spotlight was all on Sidney. Josie had woken up from a nice long sleep to see her sister's name and her mother's name being the talk of the town. Even beyond the grave her mother was haunting her. And now that it was coming up on Josie's birthday and the anniversary of her mother's death, Josie's emotions were fighting with each other to see which one would come out victorious.

"Sidney Prescott, who escaped a vicious attack last night is the daughter of Maureen Prescott, who was brutally killed last year when convicted murderer Cotton Weary broke into their home and savagely..." Josie clicked the television off in a huff.

"It's not breaking in if she opened the door for him. And like he could kill someone." Josie rolled her eyes. She realized the news would probably buzz again about the murder of Maureen, but it didn't even feel like it had been a year yet.

The house phone erupted into the empty house, causing the girl to groan. Getting up to grab the phone before she headed into the kitchen to make her breakfast before school. She clicked the answer button before putting the phone to her ear.

"Hello?"

"Jo..." Billy's low voice spoke from the other line.

"No. Go fuck yourself. With a wood chipper or something. Make it memorable." Josie snapped before pressing the end button. Slamming the phone onto the counter. He had lit that fire underneath her and it still wasn't even burning as bright as it could've been.

Josie had pushed her way through the crowd of news reporters and students, not wanting to deal with anyone that day. She had not been in the mood now after the 5 second call. Billy could always put her in the worst moods or the best ones, and this time it was one of the nastier moods.

Josie had made it to her locker that was next to Sidney's. Sid, Tatum, and Stu were crowded around. The girl tried not to acknowledge them at first, just wanting to get her books and go to class.

"This is a mistake. I shouldn't be here." Sidney has already begun to stress out at the thought of being at school after her name had been in the headlines.

"I want you to meet me here after class, okay, Sid?" Tatum told Sidney before popping the lollipop back in her mouth. Josie peered over to catch Stu began to admire himself in Tatum's small mirror causing the girl to roll her eyes.

"You keep looking at yourself like that Stuart, you might as well just fuck yourself." Josie commented.

"Oh, so she speaks? And yeah, I would if I could. Because let's face it, I'm hot." Stu said.

"You're stupid." Josie corrected.

"Jo, how was the night alone at the house? I'm surprised you didn't want to stay with us to feel safer." Tatum had brought up.

"It was fine. There was an officer parked outside. And I slept like a baby." Josie said, a small smirk falling on her lips as her and Stu locked eyes briefly.

"Hey, I haven't seen Billy around. Is he really pissed?" Sidney asked Stu.

"Oh, you mean after you branded him the Candyman? No. His heart is broken." Stu replied, causing Tatum to hit him.

"Stu!" Tatum exclaimed.

"What? He was there for Jo. And he wanted to talk to her about Sidney." Stu said with a shrug as Josie gave him a look.

"What about Sid was he going to talk to her about?" Tatum asked curiously.

"I don't know. Maybe he wanted to get back with her and wanted Jo's help?" Stu had randomly guessed but Josie could see the mischievous look in Stu's eyes when he said that. It caused her to grip her bag tighter. Like hell he was going to get back together with Sidney. A storm cloud was rolling in behind her eyes but all of their attention had been caught by the screams coming down the hall. A guy in the ghostface costume came running down the halls screaming in a teasing manner, but it caused Sidney to jump in fear. Josie looked on with her eyebrow arched slightly, seeing Sidney shift uncomfortably before the bell rang.

"Why are they doing this?" Sid had asked Tatum and Stu before she went to turn to look at her older sister but the girl was out of sight.

Sidney had rushed into the bathrooms to get away from Billy as their talk didn't end up going well. Stu was wrong with his guess of wanting to get back together with Sidney. But the little hope Sidney had felt like a knife when Billy said he was just there to see Josie and that was it. He didn't bring up any mention of her. And then the conversation had took a turn when he went down memory lane with her and how differently she began to act once her mom died.

So there the younger Prescott entered the bathroom for a minute to herself. But she was interrupted in her train of thought when she realized two girls had been talking about her. Causing the Prescott girl to go into an empty stall to wait the two classmates out.

"She was never attacked. I think she made it all up."

"Why would she lie about that?"

"For attention! The girl has some serious issues. The attention goes to Josie for a split second after Casey's death and now the attention is on her. What if she did it? What if Sidney killed Casey and Steve?"

"Why would she do that?"

"Maybe she had the hots for Steve and killed them both in a fit of rage. After all, her sister was constantly with Casey instead of Sidney. Maybe she was jealous of both."

"Josie and Casey stopped being friends in the summer. And Sidney had her own bubble-butt boyfriend. Billy. At least for a little while. I think he's into Josie. Probably always has been."

"Maybe Sidney's jealous of her sister? And that's why all of this is happening. And maybe Sidney's a slut just like her mother. But who knows, Josie could be the next target."

"You're evil."

"Please, it's a common fact. Her mother was a tramp. And a bitch. You should've seen her one night after cheer practice yelling at Josie. It was so out of line."

"Cut Sidney some slack. She watched her mom get butchered."

"And it fucked her up royally. Think about it. Her mother's death leaves her disturbed and hostile. In a cruel and inhumane world, she's delusional. Where's God? Et cetera." Sidney kept listening to the two girls going back and forth. The girl tried to keep herself together and not cry. She just wanted them to leave so she could be alone, but what she didn't realize is that she wouldn't be alone.

Once Sidney was out of the stall, she stared at herself in the mirror for a second in pity before she began to look through her bag.

"Sidney." A whisper called out which caught the girl's attention. She bent down to see if there were anybody's legs in the stalls but she saw nothing. She went back to digging through her bag as the whispering began again.

"Is someone there?" She called out. She took a moment to check the stalls again when a pair of black boots came down from off the toilet seat and the ends of the black costume draped down. Seeing the door slowly begin to open, Sidney wasted no time running for the exit, dodging the ghostface that leapt out at her. Once Sidney was out of the bathroom, another stall door opened. Another ghostface charged at the person in the costume and kicked them to the ground, pulling their own mask off, Josie's hair fell slightly in her face.

"I told you both that she was mine." Josie spat out. Laughter came from the person below her as Stu took his mask off.

"But I just want to have some fun." He jutted out his bottom lip.

"I'm not kidding. You and Billy need to back off."

"You made Billy-boy really upset last night. First at the diner then down at the station. Tsk. Tsk. Tsk. Dear Josie has been a bad girl." Stu tried to taunt. The girl wasted no time to kick him in the groin which caused him to groan in pain.

"You tell Billy that I don't need his help. And I don't want his help."

"Oh please. You and him are like a married couple. Constantly at each other's throats but you will be boning by the end of the night. Maybe even before night time even hits. Mark my words." Stu said.

"Take off the costume and give it to me. Then get out of my sight, Stu. I'm not in the mood." The boy huffed as he took off the costume and handed the girl it all before he headed out of the door. She took her costume off that she had gotten from the guy running in the hall and put both of the costumes into her bag before zipping it up.

The girl looked at herself in the mirror. Her head tilted slightly as she tried to get a read on herself. But she was coming up empty handed, continuing to stare. She saw herself but she always started to feel confused. Blinking slightly, she shook her head before she headed out into the hall. A new thought of bailing on the school day suddenly enveloped her head. But luck was already on her side when she had made her way back to her locker and the announcements rang throughout the school suspending all classes until further notice. Josie had a smirk upon her lips feeling triumphant in the moment. What she didn't realize though was that her day was going to keep getting wilder as each hour passed because of a brown eyed boy who was crazy in love with her.
