All was well in Woodsboro as September was slowly creeping towards its last week. Josie was the captain of the cheer team while dealing with Casey Becker's constant threats on the side. The blonde girl was plotting on how to bring Josie down now that she had risen more in popularity at the school. The attention was off the Becker girl and now very clearly on the older Prescott, that it pissed Casey off. But what Casey didn't know is that she would soon get her name in the spotlight again, just not in the way she was anticipating.

Josie had only had a few slip ups with Billy but for the most part stood her ground. She acted like she could care less about him which drove him crazy. Especially when he would see James always near Josie and all the guys gawking at her when she wore her cheer uniform. Stu always tended to point it out and poke fun at the Loomis boy for being "in" the doghouse with Josie Prescott. It was ironic to Stu Macher more because Josie used to always be with him and Billy, adoring the brown eyed boy even while he was taken. But now she kept her distance or would only greet Stu and give Billy the cold shoulder. It always led to some interesting nights between her and Billy when the boy was overflowing with jealousy.

But the week before the last one of the month was when things began to get a bit out of control. Casey Becker had tried to corner Josie when she ran into her at the video store, but before she could get far with her threats shot at the Prescott girl, Stu and Billy had come around the corner to go between them. Billy had a nasty look in his eyes as he looked down at the blonde girl. Stu had gravitated towards Josie but still glared at his ex-girlfriend.

"Do we have a problem here?" Billy asked as he tilted his head at the blonde who scoffed.

"Look at this. He's always coming to save the day, Josie. It must suck, Billy. Knowing that she will never truly love you, especially now that she has James to make her feel good. She takes after her mother in boy hopping. Sad you had to be one of her victims." Casey smirked as Josie went to jump at her but Stu held her back.

"Becker. I would watch my back if I were you. Josie can handle herself. And I would just say from my point of view. Your days are numbered." Billy threatened in a monotone voice as the girl glared at him.

"No, hers are. Well, the both of yours once her sister finds out about the both of yours eventful summer." Casey crossed her arms, feeling as if she won as Billy raised his brow at her.

"Josie seemed to burn with such anger and sadness once she realized you weren't just hers like you had initially told her. Now I can't wait to see it all come down on the two of you once Sidney finds out. She'll hate you both, and it will eat at Josie." Casey said smugly.

"Ladies, gentlemen, what seems to be the problem?" A new voice asked as everyone had directed their attention to Randy Meeks who looked confused.
"There's no problem, Randy, dear. Casey was just leaving." Josie spoke as she sent a tightlipped smile the boy's way. A small blush had creeped up on his face as he couldn't help but stare at Josie.

"Josie, I would get ready if I were you." Casey commented before she walked away and out of the building.

"Okay. What really was that?" Randy questioned as Josie sighed.

"None of your business, man." Stu replied. Josie patted Stu's chest before looking at Randy.

"Becker is still a little mad that I took her captain spot on the cheer team. She wants the captain title back and is trying to find out ways to get it again." Josie told Randy.

"But wasn't it a vote done by the team?" Randy asked and Josie nodded.

"Talk about a sore loser." Stu chuckled.

"I wouldn't worry too much about it Jo," Randy began and Billy's ears perked up a bit at the Meek's boy calling her by the nickname only him and Stu were technically able to use. "She's all bark, no bite."

"You're right, Randy." Josie fake smiled before she began to walk away. Stu and Billy glaring slightly at the Meek's boy before they followed behind Josie out the door like lost puppies.

"What do you two want?" Josie asked as she made it to her car. She opened the driver door but turned back towards the two. Billy moved closer to her as he trapped her between himself and the car. Stu hovered slightly behind the Loomis boy as he looked around the parking lot.

"I just want to let you know that I will deal with Becker." Billy tried to assure Josie.

"I don't need you to do that. I can handle it myself." Josie told him as one of his hands cupped her face and he ran his thumb across her cheek.

"I know, babydoll. I just want you to be taken care of. I have it all figured out so you don't need to lift a finger." Billy said.

"What? Billy. You don't need to help me. And stop that!" She tried to slap his hand away but his hand didn't falter where it was placed. "We're in public, Billy."

"Please, almost everyone knows James has been hooking up with Heather. You both are fine to do whatever." Stu rolled his eyes. Billy gave Josie a 'see' look before she shook her head annoyed. Billy instantly dipped his head before he connected their lips. The girl didn't fight it as she seemed to melt into his touch. He pulled away and smiled down at the girl who slowly opened her eyes to look up at him.

"I'll see you tomorrow." Billy told her. But what she didn't know is that she would see him sooner than that.

Josie was getting ready for bed when she heard tapping on her window. She pulled the curtains aside to see the deep brown eyes of the boy who held her heart with a firm grip. She sighed as she opened the window up for him to come in.

"It's not tomorrow yet." Josie pointed out as Billy closed the window.

"I know. I just needed to see you. I figured I could stay here tonight." Billy told her as he ran a hand through his hair. Josie caught a quick glimpse of marks on his hand which made her walk over to him to grab his hand. She inspected it only for him to pull his hand away from her quickly.

"Where were you before you came here?" Josie questioned him.

"Out with Stu." He said without looking her in the eyes.

"Doing what exactly?" She asked.

"Getting things taken care of." Billy told her.

"What did you do?" She gave him an accusing look.

"Let's just say I've taken care of things." Billy replied as the girl frowned. Her brain had went to many different things, guessing what he meant by that but she didn't want to ask any further for clarification of what he meant.

"You should go clean up in the bathroom and shower." Josie told him.

"As long as you join me." He said as she gave him a look.

"My dad is home." Billy ran his finger along part of her shoulder that was exposed from her tank top.

"I think we can be quiet." He shrugged. She pushed him away slightly as she shook her head.

"I'll check to make sure the coast is clear then you can make your way to the bathroom. I don't want him to see you." Josie said before she walked to the door to peak out. She ushered Billy to go to the bathroom. Once he disappeared behind the bathroom door, the older Prescott girl sighed. She needed extra blankets from Sidney's room before she went to bed. Knocking on the door, she heard a "come in" and she opened the door to see her sister at her computer.

"Hey, I was wondering if I could have some of the extra blankets from your closet?" Josie asked.

"Yeah, what for?" Sidney questioned as she got up to grab them. Josie debated on answering truthfully then remembered the conversation her and Sidney had the night before the first day of senior year.

"Billy's dad isn't home and we're having a movie night so I need blankets for him." Josie informed her as Sidney raised her eyebrow in a questioning manner.

"So you two are 'ok' with each other?" Sidney wondered.

"Sid, we're still just friends. Just the usual movie night that we haven't really had in a bit. Nothing more than that." Josie lied as her sister nodded.

"Dad's leaving in the morning for work. So he should be gone for a week or two." Sidney told Josie who nodded.

"Alright. Thanks for the heads up." Josie chuckled before she took the blankets from her sister and headed back to her room to put them on the bed. She then headed towards the bathroom and locked the door behind her. Billy had started the shower and was already standing under the running water. Josie saw the two towels he had already placed on the hooks for them. She soon undressed and looked at herself in the mirror for a split second. Josie Prescott felt different in a way. She didn't know why, but as she stared at herself, she didn't know what she was seeing. Joining the boy in the shower, what she was unaware of was that her week was going to be a very long and eventful one which would change everything.
