  CORAL CRESTA ALWAYS KNEW THAT HER TIME WOULD COME.
She knew that her simple existence will at some point be used as a weapon to torment her loved ones if they so much as put a toe out of line. That's what the capitol does. They don't see those who live in the districts as people— they seem them as pawns that they can play with and move about as much as they please for their own sick pleasure.

Coral has been aware of this since she was seven years old. When at the time, a close family friend, Finnick Odair, was reaped to participate in the 65th hunger games at the young age of fourteen. He was the youngest winner ever, thanks to the gift of an expensive trident that he received from a capitol viewer. The moment he received that gift, her family feared for his future. You never escape the games. Finnick learned that first hand. He was fearful to do anything wrong, not wanting his loved ones to pay the price. Unfortunately, one small mistake led to his girlfriend, Annie Cresta, being forced into the games to punish him.

Annie Cresta, Coral's aunt, was never the same— seeing her district partner beheaded during the blood bath left her permanently scarred. She ran and hid for the whole game, only winning because the arena was flooded. The rest of the remaining tributes drowned except for her, since being from district four gave her the advantage of being a strong swimmer. The Cresta family always had a feeling that somehow Finnick had something to do with how the game ended, but they never asked. It's better to never speak about it, because there are ears everywhere.

Coral knew she was next because of her close relationship with Annie and Finnick. The two tried their best to be as careful as possible, doing everything President Snow tells them to do. But they're only human. They were bound to mess up again. People caught on to the deep relationship that the two victors shared, causing women and men of the capitol to be outraged. They believed that they had a claim to Finnick— that he was their golden boy and theirs alone. Snow was furious, choosing to punish them both once again. Finnick got off too easy last time. With the woman he loved coming home alive— though they care very little for the mental state of the girl. Snow is determined that this time it ends with the death of the young girl Finnick and Annie care for so deeply.

Coral Cresta was right, her time has come. Her name is rigged to be reaped in the 74th annual hunger games. Believing that she was for sure going to be dead in a few days time, Coral thought she might as well have some fun. Pissing off the star crossed lovers kept her greatly entertained. She flirted consistently with the male tribute from district twelve, loving the way the pale boys face lit up with a deep blush. Coral's flirting with the boy annoyed his district partner greatly, which was a bonus. The glares that the so called 'girl on fire' gave her excited her greatly. This was going to be fun.

Snow wants her dead. Why not go out with a bang?

coming soon! i'm very excited for this one. for some reason i have more imagination when it comes to writing poly stories, they're my absolute favourite to write. i'm very into the hunger games right now and while watching the series my brain planned out the whole plot of this story lol.
