CHAPTER ONE | 장

YOU LOVE ME. I LOVE YOU. SO,
WHAT ARE WE WAITING FOR?

━━━━━━━━━

After a long exhausting day that was meant to be the best he had, M/n now forgot what that Sunday was supposed to be.

As expected, his parents had wrapped tighter chains around him, not even allowing him to go out without reasonable proof that makes it necessary. He didn't understand their constant obsession over his future and success but he did what he was told to.

For the entirety of his week that hasn't even happened yet, he was given the everyday routine and schedule like he had back in middle school.

It was frustrating to have his day planned out by a single paper filled with time and tasks arranged in a wheel.

For the past 2 days of getting used to having someone hired to watch over him and his every movement, M/n did his best to behave.

And even though it was simply suffocating, he couldn't do anything about it.

Just like Goo had said, he arrived by the end of the street across the school, the usual pathway they pass by every time they head towards cram school. And just like what Goo informed him, it was in Wednesday where he was finally free from whatever Job he had.

M/n was honestly terrified. He was visibly nervous that his hand has been shaking nonstop since this morning.

He was afraid of several things, mainly the worst-case scenarios. He didn't want whatever relationship they have to end. Not in any way. He still wanted to go to more places with him, to still see what was life beyond textbooks, he wanted for Goo to show him the things he has yet to discover.

Most of all, he didn't want his feelings to end.

He learned to enjoy the way how his stomach would constantly take flips at every thought of him, or how his vision suddenly becomes more vibrant at the mere sight of him. And although his own mother called it an obsession, it was definitely something he would associate with his emotions.

He was still confused. Clueless. And even though he was still unfamiliar with it now, he would love to know more about it in the future.

"Where are you going, M/n?"

Upon being so caught up in his thoughts, the high school student didn't realize he was already walking towards the street where he knows Goo would be at. His feet just suddenly started moving without him noticing.

"To cram school." M/n turned around to face the person his parents hired to look at his every move.

"Cram school?" Jace repeated with a raised brow. "Today's Wednesday, isn't it? You don't have classes in Friday and Wednesday." He was a student from the Architecture Department but he sure was sharp.

"I forgot."

"That's a lie, I'm sure it was written in your schedule." Jace pointed out, curious on to why M/n- who was usually a good student who follows the rules- would lie to go somewhere.

"You do take the babysitting part a little too seriously, don't you?" He sighed.

"Well, yes." Jace shrugged.

"Why do you even work for my parents?" M/n questioned. Was Jace not right in the head at all?

"They seem nice. . ." He replied, trailing off by the end since he wasn't so sure as well. "And they pay really well for such a simple job, although odd."

M/n started walking, soon followed by Jace who was casually walking behind him as if they belong in the same friend group.

The architecture student sure did approach the job in a calm manner.

"So, what crazy things have you done that you now require extra supervision? Don't worry, you can tell me, I won't snitch." Jace assured, eyes peering in curiosity. He was nice, very friendly too; but M/n was simply not that interactive.

"I scored 98 on my last quiz." The boy sarcastically stated, but it seemed like Jace didn't get the hint of his tone.

"Damm, that's tough. I wasn't expecting that but it does fit your personality well-"

"It's called sarcasm, dimwit."

"Oh."

The only tough part to mention was that Jace was incredibly difficult to talk to despite his friendly aura. He appears really nice and approachable, but he was just a little too dense. Maybe he just had a hard time understanding M/n.

"Can you wait here for a while?" M/n turned to the male who was patiently walking behind him. Jace was a little surprised by his request, suspicious even.

"But I was told to keep a close eye-"

"I'll just be by the turning street, I need to settle something." M/n stated bluntly, heading towards where he knows Goo would be waiting.

Jace was left by the street across, a wall blocking his sight slightly. But he'll give him the privacy for now, he's just sure that M/n isn't the type to run away or start fights.

And just like how M/n suspected, Goo was already there waiting, leaning against the wall.

Seeing the sight of the male, the blonde visibly brightened up to see him well. But what confused him was how M/n was emitting a different atmosphere. Far from what he usually has.

But he brushed it off.

"M/n!" He greeted enthusiastically, a neverending grin on his face as he welcomed the boy generously. "You won't believe what I saw while I was away! There was this-"

In the process of rambling all of his knowledge to his beloved, Goo was interrupted by M/n himself who seemed very conflicted between his thoughts. And while Goo was an easygoing person who never gets serious, he was not dumb.

"Goo." M/n started off, not knowing how to tell the blonde how he wouldn't be seeing him anymore.

"Huh? What's wrong? Is something bothering you? You can talk to me."

With how Goo pampered M/n with his words and with the etch of worry on his face- M/n realized that he wasn't ready for this conversation yet. He didn't know how to say it properly.

As if there was a proper way.

It seemed harsher than a breakup.

"Goo, the things is," M/n visibly hesitated as he kept a straight face. "I. . ." Damn it, just say it, M/n. He urged himself.

"You?" Goo patiently gestured for him to continue.

"I. . . Don't think we should see each other again." M/n said it in one breath, and seeing how Goo paused in time to process what he just said- M/n could feel like he could pass away right there and then.

"Not see each other again?"

"Yes." The boy nodded. "You being constantly around me brings me influence and distraction to get away from my studies. I can't afford that." He clenched his fist behind his back, trying his best not to falter.

Goo glanced at the action by the corner of his eyes. He was sharp when it came to observing, there was a reason he was a part of the geniuses.

"Ditraction?" The blonde mused. "What is it that you really wanted to say, M/n?"

"I said what I said. We shouldn't hangout anymore, you shouldn't show up in the middle of the day to bother me, we should stop being involved in each other's life."

"I wouldn't even if that's what you really wanted me to do. But I don't think that's the case." Goo started as he stared at the hand hidden behind M/n's back. "You really want me here, don't you? You want me to stay. You want me to give you my attention."

M/n's walls have completely collapsed as he felt his face turning as red as a tomato upon hearing the blonde's words.

"I don't!" He defended, attempting to gain his control back, but in the midst of clenching his hand into a fist, he felt Goo move to take his fisted hand and then pull him to collide into each other's chest.

Before M/n could break free, Goo wrapped his arms around his back and pulled him closer. Pulling him into an embrace that left M/n resting his head on the blonde's shoulder.

"And most of all, you wanted me to hold you like this, don't you?"

That was it, M/n was flustered out of control. He was not used to physical contact, especially to public display of affection. Goo was literally hugging him in the middle of the sidewalk where people could freely view them. That was definitely not his cup of tea.

"Now what was it that you really wanted to say?" Goo asked, his breath fanning against M/n's ears.

M/n took in a deep breath as he could barely compose himself.

"I think. . ."

Was it really okay to say it? He promised his parents he would stay away from Goo. They told him that his feelings were merely temporary. And yet, he couldn't ignore the pounding on his chest as his heart thumps uncontrollably. It reached to the point that he could even hear his own heartbeat ringing through his ears.

He doubts this was a mere obsession.

"Goo," M/n pulled his head back to stare right back into the blonde's eyes. "I think I'm in love with you."

As his words left his mouth, it also left a sweet taste at the tip of his tongue, one that he couldn't comprehend.

But he had finally said it.

Although M/n was guaranteed to get in trouble for this- Goo was luckily someone who doesn't stop pursuing someone who he has set his eyes on.

And right now, his eyes were only on the boy in front of him.
