Chapter 8: Uh-oh.

I started to play with the straw of my ice tea.

"Ana? Are you okay?" Kylie asked me.

I nodded, "Just can't believe Dayana, my other personality, got me in trouble."

Kylie chuckled, "You're just suspended for a week. What could go wrong?"

I rolled my eyes, "She shouldn't do that anymore. She should know it's not just her in this body."

Kylie giggled, "But you can't help but love her. Her craziness, her everything."

I placed my chin on my arm that was plopped down on the table.

"I admit, I do get fascinated at when we suddenly switch and she got me in some situation." I said, sipping my iced tea.

"Like what, exactly?" Kylie asked me.

"Well, one is just this morning where you asked her if she wanted to go to this cafe. We suddenly switched and I was in a twerk position in the bathroom." I said, chuckling at what I said.

Kylie shrugged, "So that's why Dayana suddenly stopped singing PPAP in the bathroom."

I laughed slightly, "Out of all the songs she chose that?"

Kylie laughed, "Weird, I know."

I shrugged and took a bite of the cake.

"Can I ask you something?" Kylie asked me.

"Well, you're already asking so why not? What's your question?" I asked her.

"How does having split-personality work? I mean, like, are you guys—" she was cut off when I put my fork down.

"Usually people get split-personality when they encounter a certain traumatic event. That happened to Dayana and because of that she will have a new personality that is considered a different person— yes, me, Ana— from her original self to forget that traumatic event." I said, "Dunno what traumatic event that is though, like I said, she made this personality to forget that traumatic event."

"What do you think her traumatic event is?" Kylie asked me.

I thought about it for a moment, "She doesn't like her last name spreading about, right? I'm guessing it has something to do with her family."

Kylie furrowed her eyebrows, "Family? I guess. She did mention that her family abandoned her."

My head suddenly throbbed. I started to rub my temples and take deep breaths.

"Are you okay?" Kylie asked in concern.

"Yeah, I just-"

I suddenly felt a shiver in my spine. I opened my eyes and giggled, sticking my tongue out like a cat.

"Hey Kylie-bear, my Kyles, the greatest best friend ever, Kylie, my only best friend. Top of the morning to 'ya!" I said with hysterical laughter following.

"Oh great." Kylie muttered under her breath.

"Last thing I remember I was dancing at the bathroom, why am I here?" I asked Kylie.

"Do the shades of your eyes change when you switch personalities?" She asked back.

I giggled, "Yup. These are my normal eyes, grey. Ana has shades that are darker, making it look like black."

"Oh, now I know whenever you change personalities without opening your mouth." Kylie said, writing on an invisible notepad with an invisible pen.

"Wait, she got cake? Ugh, it's vanilla." I pouted.

Not to hate on those vanilla cake lovers. I mean, I love vanilla on ice cream but not on cakes.

"You can buy a cupcake if you wa-"

"Don't! You're reminding me of Cuppycake." I said, looking away while covering my eyes with the back of my left hand.

The most dramatic girl pose.

If you imagined it wrong, I'm sorry, but you are not in my world.

"Just finish your cake. I actually paid for that." Kylie scolded me.

"B-but it's-" she cut me off with a smirk.

"Choose, eat that cake or I hide Mr. Patty-face?" She threatened me.

I looked at her in disbelief. She's making me choose?

"I'll it eat! I'm sorry, I'm sorry! Don't hide Mr. Patty-face, please!" I pleaded, putting my hands together.

She laughed, "Jeez, just eat it already."

I looked at the cake, taunting me to eat it. Telling me I used to love it. And I sure will love it again.

I stuffed my face in the cake while Kylie watched in amusement.

"Woah there tiger, it's just a cake." Kylie told me.

"Aw dewisus cek." I said with my mouth full, wanting to say 'A delicious cake.'

She rolled her eyes and finished her Frappe. As she did, I played with my ice tea. More specifically the ice. By dropping it to the floor purposely.

"Let's go?" Kylie offered.

"Yup!" I said excitedly, putting the last ice cube on the floor.

When we exited the cafè, Kylie hit the back of my head.

"Owie! What was that for, woman?!" I exclaimed, giving her a harsh glare.

"If someone slips on the ice-"

"Ice turning to liquid is called melting. The liquid will soon turn into gas in a process called evaporation, therefore, the water would have evaporated-I hope- before someone slips on it." I explained to her.

"Evaporation takes time." Kylie told me.

"Really? I didn't know that." I said with an amused face.

I was kidding. I do know that, I just wanted to tease Kylie.

We headed back to our building and I cartwheeled just to show off.

"Show off." Kylie grumbled at herself.

"What was that? I couldn't hear you 'cause of my awesomeness." I said, putting my hand near my ear.

"Awesomeness does not make you deaf. Just accept that fact that you don't clean your ears often." Kylie said and laughed.

I stuck my tongue out like a cat and half-skipped half-walked to our room.

"I'm home!" I kept yelling whenever we pass a room that had the lights on.

For the sake of humanity, open your doors so I can say my signature line.

"I'm home!" I yelled in one of the rooms and they opened their door.

"Jessica?" A brunette asked.

"How utterly amazing! It worked! Screw 'Open Sesame'!" I yelled and sprinted to our room.

"Dayana! Wait for me, dummy!" I heard Kylie's voice call out but I ignored her.

I reached our room and I collapsed on my bed. After a few seconds, Kylie barged in.

"There's this verb call 'knocking', you know?" I told her.

"And there's something called 'you-don't-run-away-from-your-only-friend-in-the-world', you know?" She retorted.

"Really? I have never heard that." I said and sat down on my bed.

I was surprised when Kylie suddenly threw a pen at my direction.

"I hate you with all my heart." Kylie said, "Which is ironic since heart represents love."

"An also the organ that pumps blood throughout your entire body." I added.

She rolled her eyes at me.

I giggled as I threw the pen next to her head.

"Please stop, Dayana." Kylie sighed, "This is the reason you don't have friends except me."

I pouted, "It's not my fault they get scared of my craziness."

She took the pen and hit my head with it, "Just. Shut. Up."

I giggled and tugged her hair.

"Ow! Dayana!" She yelled.

I fell off my chair laughing so hard from her pain.

What? I know she's probably the only friend I will ever have in the entire world but craziness is unstoppable.

"Dayana! I. Am. Going. To. Kill. Y-" Kylie was cut off when someone knocked on our door.

"Beep." I replied.

Kylie hit my head as hard as she could.

"I mean, come in." I corrected myself, giggling at Kylie.

Julie, Kylie's twin sister, entered.

"Juuullleeesss!" I squealed.

"Uhm, hey, I mean, hi Dayana." She shifted uncomfortably.

"What brings you here, twinie?" Kylie asked her.

I brought out my knife from my pocket.

"Yeah? What's up?" I asked her, "Is there a new mission?!"

"Y-yes. C-could you please ta-take that knife away?" She requested.

I giggled, "Nah, don't want to."

Kylie took it from me, "Who has a mission?"

Julie motioned her head towards me, indicating I have a new mission.

"Yay!" I exclaimed. "What's the mission?"

"Gang information has been leaked out to our rival gang-"

"All gangs are our rivals, which gang?" I asked, a creepy smile on my face.

"Let me guess, Armadillo?" Kylie guessed.

"Yep. They got the information with their hacker, Fre-"

"Freddy?! I missed playing with him!" I squealed like a little was told that she was playing with a family friend she hasn't seen since they last had a family dinner.

"Sorry Dayana, but this is gonna be your last play date." Julie told me.

"What? Why?" I frowned.

"You're gonna have to make him lose in another game of hide and seek." Kylie told me.

I giggled, "Nope."

"What?!" They both exclaimed.

"We're not playing hide and seek. I'm getting sick of that game." I replied with a giggle.

"I don't like where this is going." Kylie muttered to her twin.

"Me neither." Julie replied.

"We're gonna play Tag! It has been a while since I played that right? And since it's our last time playing, I need to make it special!" I squealed.

"Last time you played tag was with-

"With Gibby!" I exclaimed, "He pointed a gun to me so I was tempted. It was fun though!"

"Gibby? Oh, you mean Gabriel?" Julie asked, "The one who leaked out information about our gang."

I pouted, "I trusted Gibby but he didn't be good guy. So I just played with him."

Julie sighed, "Alright. Our target will be heading to the ice cream parlor just a few blocks from here in five minutes."

I giggled, "Better choose a toy then."

"You're bringing one of your 'toys'?" They both asked simultaneously.

"Why, of course." I said and opened my mini-fridge. "What's the harm in that?"

"What are you taking out of your fridge?" Julie asked as she peered over my shoulder.

"Candy canes or lollypops?" I asked her.

"Candy canes." Kylie replied, not bothering to wait for her sister's reply.

"Alrighty then." I said and took out to candy canes wrapped in plastic.

"You gonna need an energizer, babe?" Kylie asked me.

I giggled, "I wanted to try something new. Maybe a new toy or something."

"Don't. Harm. Candy." They threatened.

"Is that a threat?" I smirked.

"Yes." They replied.

I laughed like a maniac. Oh, wait, I am one.

"Go! Four minutes more and he's there already!" Julie suddenly panicked.

▪▪▪

I waited patiently.

I looked around, good thing this place has rarely any people around.

I hear the bell from the open of the door.

"Hi Freddy." I greeted him.

He stumbled when I came accross him.

"Wh-what do you want?" He demanded.

"Uhm, well, we're gonna have our last game today. I heard you have information about our gang."

"I-I haven't told my boss yet!" He defended.

"But I know you will sooner or later." I said with my innocent face.

"So let's play tag." I said, "I'll count to five, so you could get a head start."

"You're crazy." He told me.

"I know, isn't it amazing?" I replied. "Now go. I'm a fast runner, wouldn't want me catching up to you."

He stumbled again, then stood up and took a step back.

"One." I whisper, taking a step forward and he took a step back.

"Two." I giggle and he takes two steps back.

"Three," he took off running.

"Four." I take out one candy cane and put it in my mouth.

"Five." With that, I took off running.

I run and run until I hear panting for air.

I-I can't kill him. I can't.

I shook my head. Shut up, I know you can.

I can't.

I shook my head and touched Freddy's shoulder.

"Tag, you're it." I whisper in his ear.

Then, started my real game.

"W-What in the world?!"

I turn around and my eyes widen.

"Uh-oh." I giggled.
