Chapter 41: (Halloween) Let's not get drunk.
And... that's all the information I can tell you because after that, I can't remember anything else.
I'm being honest!
Leon told me that I hit my head that night and went unconscious.
Huh, I'm not that clumsy, am I?
I suddenly got flashbacks of the time I hit my head on a pole while doing a hair flip, spilling milk on my eyes, and tripping over in front of the Paradasial members.
Yup, totally not clumsy. At all.
-
I stifled a laugh while Dayana and I were checking the candies we got.
I can't get over her drunk little act last night.
We were just trying to get into the party, her grip on me so tight it might break my bones.
I couldn't blame her. We could easily lose each other in milliseconds in this close-to-toxic area.
"Leon, I don't think we're gonna be able to find Xander here." Dayana told me.
I turned around- which was quite a task- and furrowed my eyebrows.
"The chances of bumping into him here are actually 67.9852%, why would it be hard?" I asked her.
She giggled, "I'm leaning into that 32.01448%."
"Oh, the trust." I said, shaking my head.
"What?" She asked, doing that thing she always does with her tongue.
I rolled my eyes then started to drag her until we reached an empty room- which I assume is the kitchen.
"Sweet, some drinks. I'm thirsty." Dayana said, already at the fridge.
How did she magically transport herself there when she was just standing next to me a while ago?
She took off her wig, then shook her head, letting her blonde hair loose.
"Whoo! This thing's annoying as hell." She said and threw it behind her back.
"How would you know if the drink you're gonna drink isn't spiked, little Dayana?" I asked her.
"People here are too drunk or too busy with... er, stuff, to spike drinks here at the fridge. They probably already spiked the drinks outside." She informed me.
"Okay. But I'm not drinking anything here, so when you're drunk, I can take you back to CBG building." I told her.
"Nah, I'm not getting drunk, Lee." She said with a giggle.
"Oh, if you do get drunk, you owe me some candy." I told her, pointing at her backpack and teddy bear that was filled with candy.
I forgot all about the 'making sure Dayana doesn't get drunk' oath.
"Fine. But if I don't get drunk, I'll take all of your candies." She said with a giggle.
She'll get drunk anyway.
"Deal." I said and held out my hand.
She took it, "And seal it with my spit."
Before I could ask what she meant, she spit on our hands.
"Gross, Dayana! Just gross!" I yelled, immediately letting her go and wiping my hand on my shirt.
She giggled, "Hey, stop that! That's our deal seal- wait, that rhymes!"
I rolled my eyes.
"Okay. Now I really need something to hydrate me." She commented and went over to the fridge.
"Ooh, coca-cola!" She exclaimed and took out a coke in can from the fridge.
She frowned, "Damn. It's empty. Who leaves empty cans of drinks in their fridge?"
A couple suddenly came in.
Doing cannibalism.
I scowled at the sight and innocent Dayana covered her eyes.
"Cannibalism in America. How sad." I commented, looking at them in disgust.
They got off each other.
The girl shamelessly checked me out, "Ooh la la, I like what I see."
"I don't." I replied boredly.
Dayana opened her eyes and snickered, then continued to look for a drink.
"Watch it, buddy." The guy with the girl told me.
"Eh, I'm pretty sure documentaries about sloths would be more entertaining." I replied with the same bored tone.
"Found it." Dayana said in triumph.
I looked back at her and saw she was drinking some orange juice.
"Give me that for a sec," I told her and threw it at the couple.
"Hey, I was drinking that." She slurred. "Eh? It's a three-headed unicorn!"
Then she jumped on the table and started marching around happily.
Oh well, she owes me a lot of candy. Such a lightweight.
The couple shrieked and exited the kitchen.
"Woah-kay. You're already drunk. I'll take you to the CBG building, now." I told her.
"No wah? I gotta party!" She said, dancing like a monkey on drugs.
I got her down and pat her head. She suddenly gasped.
"Am I... dead?!" And she started slapping me. "Oh, wait. I'm still gonna partay!"
I bit back a grin, "Then, how about we go look for Xander so we can stop the Blocked gang from killing him?"
"Woohoo! Let's go, shall we?" She said, stumbling when she took a step.
"Want me to carry you?" I asked her, stifling a laugh.
"No, I can walk by myself." She said, nearly tripping.
"Oh, really?" I asked her, raising an eyebrow.
"Yup." She said, starting to limp forward. "Rawr, I'm a zombie!"
"Yeah, let me help you there." I told her, taking her hand.
"What? Who are you? An angel?" She asked, wide-eyed.
"Yes, I'm an angel. Now follow me." I told her.
"Are you my guardian angel?" She asked.
"Yup." I replied, popping the p.
"Well... may I ask why you screwed up for sixteen years?" She slurred.
"Because I hate your life." I replied and started to drag her to the stairs.
She suddenly shrieked, "A three-headed vampire just bit that winged monkey!"
Then she pointed to two guys arguing and getting physical.
"Let's go." I told her.
"No! I wanna stay in the dance floor!" She said, struggling from my grip.
I sighed. How spiked was that drink?
It probably wasn't as spiked as I think it is. I mean, Dayana did get drunk after two glasses of wine once.
"I can see Xander!" I told her when I saw a glimpse of familiar brown hair.
"Huh? You know Xander?" She asked, then stumbled to take steps in the stairs.
I am very glad the stairs are not that crowded.
"Of course I do. I'm Leon." I told her and started to drag her.
Literally dragged her because she refused to stand.
"Ow! My butt, dumbass! Yikes, those heels are painful. Get out of my way."
Listening to drunk Dayana is so entertaining.
"Damn, where did he head off to again?" I muttered to myself when we finally reached the second floor.
"Who?" Dayana asked from behind. "The orange haired goblin?"
"What orange haired goblin?" I asked.
"That one!" She said and pointed to a Halloween decoration, "It's looking at me funny."
"Ugh. Can I trust you to stay here?" I asked her.
She smiled cheekily, then nodded.
"Yeah... no I can't." I said and took the strap of my wings and used it to tie her to the railings of the stairs- where another girl was also tied up but this one was passed out.
"Why am I tied up?" She asked, wailing like a whale.
"For french fries' sake, Dayana! I'm trusting you won't break this?" I said reluctantly.
"Nuu prowmisess are maddde." She said, kicking the air, then tried to jump off the railings.
Now, she's left dangling on the railings. Yikes.
I groaned and grabbed her arms, putting her back in her former position.
"Stay. I repeat, Dayana, stay here." I told her, wagging my pointer finger.
"No! I'm not a dog!" She argued.
"Dayana."
"But I don't wanna stay." She complained.
"You don't wanna stay?" I asked her, arching an eyebrow.
"OH WON'T YOU- STAY- WITH ME?" She sang loudly, but not loud enough to catch attention due to the techno music blazing from the speakers in the house.
"No," I replied blankly, "Here, I'm trusting you won't kill anyone at that state."
She stared at the pocket knife.
"Just how- may I ask- am I going to use that if my hands are tied to the railings?" She asked as she slumped on the stairs.
Well, at least we still know that she has her feisty side in tact.
"Well, I'll just leave it here." I said and sticked it on her teddy bear's head.
"Wahh... my teddy bear!" She said and started to cry with no tears.
"Uh..." was all I could say when she nearly fell down the stairs if not for the strap tying her to the railings.
I started to slowly back away and looked for Xander.
Brown hair, blue eyes.
Not that hard, right?
Oh well, fuck yeah. Everyone has costumes on and nearly all boys have brown hair.
I started looking door-to-door, accidentally disturbing- well... erm... the unspeakable.
I saw another flight of stairs and I took my chances and went to the third floor.
No wonder there weren't that much people in the dance floor.
Most of the sober ones were here while there were some drunk ones that were passed out here. It was the only calm area in this place.
I started to look around. Xander could be in here, after all, he's not stupid to get drunk, right?
I sighed when I couldn't find him here and went back down.
I started to run around in circles for a good fifteen minutes before returning to where I left Dayana.
When I got there, though, I saw Xander, untying her.
"Hey." I said as I approached the two of them.
"Oh, hey." Xander said with a smile.
I stared at his eyes. Good, he was sober.
"It was a good thing I wasn't wearing my costume or else Dayana wouldn't have seen me." He said and a shade of crimson crept at his cheeks.
I looked back at Dayana to see that she was blacked out.
I sighed, "Well, I'll be taking her now."
I then carried her bridal style before hesitating.
"You gonna come at CBG building or nah?" I asked him.
"Nah, gotta wait for my big sis plus..." He looked at Dayana, "I don't wanna look stupid in front of her."
"Okay dude. But I advice you go find your sister now. There are some rival gang members here and they're looking for you." I told him, then handed him the pocket knife, "Here, for protection."
