Chapter 40: (Halloween) Try not to drool at Leon.
It was already six o'clock and the sun is setting. Most kids would be getting ready by now while others are already outside, waiting for their friends so they can go trick or treating with each other.
But I was already dressed up and was only waiting for Leon outside CBG building.
I wonder what he'll dress up as?
I started to think of what he could've possibly chose while sticking my tongue out like a cat.
"Eh, who cares." I said and looked at my 'Charlie'.
If you didn't know, Sally's teddy bear is named Charlie.
"Hey, you been waiting long?" A voice asked from behind.
"Well, of course I was!" I exclaimed, sticking my tongue out like a cat.
"Well, shall we go then?" He asked.
"Nope, not yet." I told him.
"Why?" He asked.
"I need Ana for a bit so I know she won't show up when I'm trick or trea-"
I felt a shiver down my spine.
I shook my head, I feel like I'm sweating too much.
I touched my forehead and nearly fainted when I saw a crimson substance from my head.
"What is this!" I screeched.
"Hey, calm down." Leon told me, holding me.
"A-am I bleeding?" I asked in disbelief, "I don't feel hurt. Why am I holding a tattered bear? Why are my clo-"
Then it dawned to me, "It's Halloween, isn't it?
"Well... yeah." Leon replied.
I sighed, "Why can't she just dress up as a fairy or witch?"
"Then she wouldn't be Dayana anymore." He replied.
I closed my eyes furiously, "I guess you're right."

I closed my eyes as I felt a shiver down my spine.
I stuck my tongue out like a cat then enthusiastically asked, "What time is it?"
"Uh..." Leon looked at his watch, "Six thirty."
"Wrong! It's time to go trick or treating!" I exclaimed then looked at his outfit.
Did it get hot out here or what?
"Uh..." was all I can say as I stared at him.
"What? Were the wings too much?" He asked me.
"Uh..."
Damn it, what has happened to your flip flapping mouth, Dayana?
Woman up!
"Yeah, I think we all know that 'Uh' isn't a possible answer now, isn't it?" He said with a laugh.
"Uh..."
Scooby-dooby-doo, where are you?
Please kill me now, like seriously.
"Dayana? Look, it's a flying fartcake!" Leon exclaimed then pointed to the sky.
"Where?!" I exclaimed and looked at the direction he was pointing.
"Too bad it's gone. What's left now is my arm around your shoulder." He said and put an arm around me.
"Smooth Ol- I mean, Lee. Smooth, Lee." I commented as I bit my lip.
He wiggled his eyebrows, "I do make an excellent, cheesy, and cringe-worthy Oliver 2.0, don't I?"
"Dream on." I said and looked back at him.
"Take a picture, it lasts longer." He told me.
"Cliche. Too cliche." I said as I stuck my tongue out like a cat.
"All for you, my dear." He said with a stifled laugh.
"Oh my gosh, Leon. Stop before I kill you." I warned him.
"Let's go?" He offered.
"Uh... What time is it?" I asked with a giggle.
He looked back at his watch, "Six forty-five."
"Then let's go!" I said excitedly and started walking ahead.
Leon followed in pursuit, grumbling at how humiliating it was for an eighteen-year-old to go trick or treating.
"Trick or die?" I asked the old woman giving out candies.
"My, my, what a horrifying costume that is." She said, giving me candy.
"Thanks!" I replied, sticking my tongue out like a cat.
"Trick or treat?" Leon said.
"What is a handsome man like you doing trick or treating? I'd have thought that all men around your age would be at the party in the house a few blocks away." The old lady told him.
"Oh." Was all he could say.
We started moving from house to house and got a variety of candy- Snickers, candy corn, gummy worms, and lots more.
Every once in a while, I'll get the chance to fawn over Leon.
Well, excuse me but he's as hot as Francisco Lachowski in his angel costume.
"Woohoo! Last house in our neighborhood." I said with a cute little grin on my face.
Wait... let me rephrase that: A crute little grin on my face.
Yup, way better.
"Not sure if they're gonna give us candy, though." Leon told me.
"Why?" I asked, sticking my tongue out like a cat.
"That house is having a party." He replied, pointing at a glowing house.
"Well, darn it." I said, pouting a bit.
I was about to whine more but Leon covered my mouth and we hid in a near tree- and don't ask why there's a tree conveniently near us.
"Mmf mm!" My 'what the heck' was muffled by his hand.
"It's Blocked Gang." He whispered.
I stopped struggling and kept quiet.
I did a hand sign that meant "How many?"
He showed me a two with his other hand and then changed it to five.
I couldn't help but overhear what some of them were talking about.
"You sure that Bryer's son is here, boss?" A gruff voice asked.
"This is the biggest Halloween party in town, why wouldn't he?" A squeaky voice asked.
Like as in Alvin and the Chipmunks squeaky.
"Do you think Psycho will be here, too?" A deep voice asked.
"Maybe. If she is, then it's gonna be a jackpot." The same squeaky voice from behind.
Psycho? Wait...
I'll be assuming that I'm Psycho.
"It seems they think you're here too," Leon whispered to me.
I knew it.
Wait... they mentioned something about Bryer?
Oh my gosh, Xander!
I did a hand sign that means, "They're after one of our members. We need to stop them."
Leon nodded and looked behind the tree.
He let go of my mouth.
"Seventeen, eighteen, nineteen, twenty, twenty-one, twenty-two, twenty-three, twenty-four... and twenty-five. Well that's all of them. Let's go."
We followed but then I stopped before we could enter.
Leon noticed I wasn't following him any more so he turned around.
"What? What's wrong?" He asked.
"What if there's an invitation code?" I asked hesitantly.
"Do you think those guys were invited?" He asked me, arching an eyebrow.
"Fair point." I said and we started walking before I stopped again.
"Wait." I told him.
"What is it now?" He asked, clearly annoyed.
"What if I get drunk?" I asked him, giggling a bit.
"I'll make sure that doesn't happen."
