Chapter 22: My July 9 goes like this-

I yawned, "Ten days and I still can't forget about it."

"Forget about what?" Kylie asked me.

I collapsed on my bed, "About what happened nine days ago, July 9."

"Did something good happen?" She asked again.

I sat down, "I don't even know if it's good or bad."

"Does it have something to do with that brown-haired boy?" She asked again.

"You're only allowed to ask five questions, you asked three already." I told her, "And yep, how'd you know?"

"Just sensed it." She shrugged.

I pouted, "Why can't I take my mind of it!"

"What exactly did happen?" She asked me.

"Well..." I trailed off.

"Well?"

"I'll just do a flashback thingy so that all of us can understand."

"What flashback th—"

"It's the July nine!" I squealed.

Kylie shifted in her sleep, "What the heck? Can a woman not sleep in peace?"

"A woman can, but not if you're with me in July nine!" I exclaimed, running to my bed and jumped on it.

"What exactly is so important in July nine?" She asked, sitting down while rubbing her eyes.

"It's the day I joined Cold Blooded Gang!" I exclaimed, jumping

"Really? How many years have you been here then?" She asked.

"Five years!" I exclaimed, "Can you believe it?"

"How old are you again?" Kylie asked.

"Sixteen." I replied with a giggle.

"You joined a gang when you were eleven?!" She exclaimed.

I giggled, "No, silly. I joined when I was twelve. I'm turning seventeen in February."

Her mouth formed and o while I burst out laughing.

"So... what're you're plans for today?" She asked me.

"I'm going to a special place where I can kill myself." I replied.

"What?!" She exclaimed.

"Gee, relax. It was a joke." I told her, rolling my eyes.

She sighed, "What time are you gonna go there?"

"In a few minutes." I said as I stood up and went over to my closet.

I picked out a plain white shirt, an oversized sky blue hoodie, and ripped jeans.

"I'm taking a shower." I told Kylie in a sing-song voice.

"I don't need to know." She replied in also a sing-song voice.

I giggled and went to the bathroom.

After taking a shower, I tried to dry my hair in a fast way.

Keyword: tried.

Seriously, why are girls' hair so hard to dry? I mean, come on, isn't there any—

"Use a hair dryer, stupid." Kylie told me, snatching the towel from my hands.

"Oh." I said with a giggle.

I plugged in Kylie's hairdryer and used it— what else will I do with it? Throw it?

"Dry and dry." I said and tied it in a messy bun.

Kylie looked at me, mouth agape.

"What?" I asked, tilting my head to the side.

"How can you tie a messy bun so perfectly with no effort at all? It takes me a hundred times before even-" she was cut off by my giggle.

"It's all about being effortless." I told her and took my backpack.

"No it isn't." Kylie argued while I put Mr. Pattyface in my bag.

"Oh, yes it is." I said as I went to our mini-fridge and took some food.

"What's with all of that food?" Kylie asked.

"What? These are just a few." I said.

"A few? Hm, five pocky boxes, eighteen skittles boxes, and- how many chips did you get?" Kylie asked in disbelief.

"About twenty." I replied.

"What's with all that? And when did you get all those? When I was in a coma?" Kylie asked.

I took another bunch of food and stuffed it in my bag, "All the food in the fridge were bought by yours truly."

She shook her head and sat on the floor.

I zipped the bag, surprisingly, it wasn't as full as I expected it to be.

"Gonna ask for Law's permission, bye!" I said and exited the room.

I brought out my phone and texted Lawrence.

To: Law of Rence

Law~! I'm gonna go to sacred place :3 be back tomorrow, 'kay?

After a few seconds, he replied.

From: Law Of Rence

Okay, take care ★★★

I rolled my eyes, "Typical Lawrence."

"Dayana, you're here." Mrs. Riley greeted me with a smile.

I smiled back at her, "How has the orphanage been, Mrs. Riley?"

"It's been well." She replied.

"May I come in?" I asked.

I'm being so polite, Ana might even be proud of me when she sees me.

"Of course dear." She said and gave way.

I went over to Mrs. Riley's office.

"Take a seat while I gather the kids at the play area. They would be absolutely be delighted to see you again." She told me as I exited the room.

I sighed, "A lot of stuff happened here."

I still remember when I was sitting here five years ago, with Mr. Pattyface on my lap.

I put my bag on my lap and rummaged through it to find Mr. Pattyface.

I zipped him open and took the picture of me and Travis.

"Sorry for what I did, 'kay?" I talke to the picture.

I'm so stupid, I'm talking to objects.

Then I remembered—

Plush toys.

Oh, right.

I giggled and put the picture back.

The door opened and in came Mrs. Riley.

"That was too quick." I told her.

"Oh, I assigned Bea, Mark, Alex, and Alexis to help me so we did it pretty quickly. I only needed to clear the second floor." Mrs. Riley explained.

I furrowed my eyebrows, "They haven't been adopted yet?"

"No." She replied, frowning a bit.

"How old are they?" I asked.

"What?" She asked back, slightly surprised by my question.

"I want to know how old they are. Maybe they can join-" I was cut off when Mrs. Riley smiled sweetly.

"They're twelve, turning thirteen. Well, Alex is already thirteen." She replied.

I smiled, "They can join. I mean, this orphanage and our gang support each other, right? Plus, I'll take good care of the four of them really, really good and—"

Mrs. Riley laughed, cutting me off, "Of course you can, dear."

I did a self-five.

"Now, let's get to the play area, shall we?" She said and I gladly obliged.

When we exited the office, someone suddenly knocked on the door.

"I'll get it." I said and went over to the door since the office is only a few feet away from it.

I opened the door and—

"Xander?" I asked, tilting my head to the side.

"Dayana? What're you doing here?" He asked.

"Oh? Hi Dayana!" Xana said from behind Xander.

I nearly fainted at what she was wearing. She could've just worn her underwear for Pete's sake!

Who goes to an orphanage wearing short shorts and a crop top?

"Uh, what're you guys doing here?" I asked.

Mrs. Riley suddenly appeared at my side.

"Oh... I can't pay back the loan yet." She told them.

"Loan?" I questioned.

"What?! It's been two months already!" Xana exclaimed.

"Sis, please don't be a bitch right now." Xander scolded her.

Xana looked down in embarassment.

"When can you pay it, ma'am?" Xander asked Mrs. Riley.

"I'm... not sure." She replied.

I took Xander by the collar, "What loan is this?"

He visibly gulped, "D-Dayana-"

"Let go of my brother." Xana told me, prying my hands off of Xander's collar.

I tightened my grip, "Answer me, rookie."

"Our company owns this land and—"

I let go of his collar and exhaled, "I'll pay it."

"What?" The three of them asked in unison.

"How much is it anyways?" I asked.

"About two thousand dollars." Xana replied.

I choked on my spit, "Seriously? God, all in my wallet. Great."

"All?" Xander asked in disbelief.

"Yes, all." I said as I took out my wallet and dumped my cash on my palm.

"Here." I said and gave Xander the money.

"Why do you have so much money?" Mrs. Riley asked me.

"Cold Blooded Gang wins a lot of gang wars— thanks to yours truly— and we get their profit when we do." I replied.

"Okay, now that that's done, let's go home baby bro." Xana said and tried to pull Xander to the— is that a frickin' limo?!

"You go home Xana, I'll stay with Dayana." Xander told her and removed her grip.

"Okay, make sure to be back before it's one, okay?" Xana said and went to the limo.

"So... why are you staying?" I asked with a giggle.

"Just wanted to." He shrugged.

Mrs. Riley cleared her throat, "Dayana, and if you would like to join,
Mr. Bryer, let's see the kids."

Xander smiled, "Please Mrs. Riley, call me Xander."

Mrs. Riley nodded and escorted us to the play room.

"Guess who's here!" I yelled to catch the attention of kids.

"Dayana!" They all yelled and ran to me, although there were new kids that didn't know me so they didn't.

"Hi guys, how have you been?" I asked.

Kiara, a wild four-year-old, tugged on my hoodie sleave.

I picked her up, "What's wrong, Ki?"

She kissed my cheek and hugged my head, "I missed you."

"Aw, me too." I said.

"Dayana, do you have something for us?" Pierce, a seven-year-old kid, asked me.

I put my free hand on my chin as if thinking, "Do I have something for you guys? How about you guess if I do or not."

"You do!" They all exclaimed in unison.

I laughed as I put Kiara down and take out all the food from my bag.

"Wow!" They all exclaimed.

"Hey, come one here guys." I called out to the ones on the back.

They all shared the food I got them— which was a lot.

Xander put his arm over my shoulder, "Seems like you're close with them?"

I giggled, "Of course I am."

"How many kids are here?" He asked me.

"Twenty-five- about to turn twenty-one." I replied.

"You're gonna adopt four?" Xander asked.

"Yup," I replied, popping the p, "For CBG recruits, 'coz why not?"

He chuckled and took his hand off my shoulder, "One day you might decide to adopt a kid and it isn't for CBG."

"Ha-ha." I fake laughed.

"Who knows, this lucky guy might be with you once you do." He added, gesturing to himself.

My eyes widened as I felt the blush creep in.

"You're blushing!" He exclaimed and pinched my cheek.

The rest of the day was spent with me playing with the kids since Xander went home at twelve.

I spent the night there and went home with Bea, Mark, Alex, and Alexis.
